Fun spot with good history. Bar food, yet tasty and decent quality. Attentive service. Friendly people.

The waitresses are extremely sexist. I went here with another female friend for a couple drinks and had a terrible experience. Both waitresses on the floor ignored us most of the time, and when we were finally asked what we would like to order she was very short and unfriendly. Cherry on top of our night was when one of the waitresses was flirting with a group of guys and wasn’t watching where she was walking, she knocked her water pitcher in to the back of my head and didn’t even apologize! She just said, «oh» and continued walking away. Extremely rude and I will not be returning.

So this was a long time ago and the owner contacted me to let me know that they have fixed the issues. I’m always impressed with an owner who reaches out for that sort of thing, so have upgraded my review.

This place is alright by me. The service is great, and there’s something about the atmosphere that reminds me of home. You can definitely tell it’s frequented by loyal locals. I came in for a rib-eye steak & settled for a sandwich. Apparently the only steak served before dinner hours is a tri-tip, and that just wouldn’t have satisfied my steak needs. However, the patty melt is ridiculously good. The beef was cooked to perfection and oh my swine there was bacon involved. That has never happened in any patty melt situation I’ve been involved in previously, but, I accept. Yet another surprise — the tater tots weren’t soggy. I don’t give a toot if they were previously frozen or not, those things were served to me extra crissspy. Bar food and Ninkasi Sleigh’r, you are my friend.

Broadway uses Ponderosa local meats, steak and fries $ 11.50 for a baseball sized 10oz steak, cooked rare as ordered, rare in itself… was outstanding! Comes with Frozen fries but oh well 4 shades of Tabasco fixed that! $ 4.50 HHr ½ ton burger = 1⁄3 lb Ponderosa patty, no cheese(+.50c) at HHr, served medium; no complaints, 14 taps incl Atlas cider. Historical 1868 jail, come do some time, you’re sure to smile and lay down your downtown Beaverton historical marker!

Dive bar with scratch made(nearly) everything! Yum! This is not a hipster place. If you are in your 20s, you will most likely turn your privileged noses up at this 21 and over place. Fine with me. Love the church pews for seats, eclectic 50s garb and license plates! True local kitschy bar/tavern feel with lotto machines in plain view(not my thing, but it’s not pretending to be something it’s not). On to the surprisingly amazing food. It’s bar food, so keep that in mind. Nachos on Happy Hour… Warning; are huge and generously topped with meat, cheese, their own guacamole, house made incredible salsa! I couldn’t eat another bite and we shared! Drinks are awesome here, nice pours! Service was awesome, Jill J rocked a room full of crazed patrons with a smile. I’ve never seen such friendly service by an obviously short staffed super star! Salads are great, most of the dinner entrees include salad and it’s not small nor full of iceberg… but fresh spring greens, fresh tomatoes and the best homemade blue cheese dressing and in house croutons! Fish and chips were pretty good(batter was a tad heavy for my taste), but nice fresh non-fishy-fish. ;) We’ve had burgers here(yes, hand pressed local beef patties) are so good and messy! Breakfast is also good, but they soar with their lunch and dinner food. I’ve heard their steak dinners are great and the chicken fried steak looked amazing. I think the man who ordered it next to our table thought I was eyeing him, but nope… it was his CFS. Which we learned, yes: also made in house with side of real mash potatoes and scratch country gravy. If you’re watching your waist line, there are plenty of healthy choices, but we ate like Fat Bastards’ last meal on earth. Roll me out of here after a coule of fresh made juicy margaritas into a cab and I’m a happy camper!

Great eclectic mix of music, nice and large array of seating(random but true), and great spicy chicken tenders(ask for Chipotle ranch). Fries were ok

Pretty average. Not much here but tables, booze, food and locals. Probably better for lunch and groups than looking to meet new people or friends. Nothing stands out about this place.

The good: the burgers my friends had looked great. As well as the club sandwich which had a hearty amount of nice, thick bacon. They had a nice selection of beer. Service was efficient and friendly. The bad: the fish for the fish and chips was lame. Looked like Van de Kamps from the frozen aisle and tasted meh. Stick with the burgers. The ugly: the Dodgers were on the telly.

A little dive bar ish, but still nice. The evening bartender is always nice, the steak is great, though served with bbq sauce? !? Their Breakfast is great too. The tables are old church pews, very funky, but cool. They have a tiny smoking patio out back. It’s great for late night dinners when we want REAL food, not drive thru.

My girlfriend took me here for my birthday dinner, and it just so happened to be on Prime Rib Friday. The outside is rustic and a classic small town bar feel, and above all it’s clean so you don’t have to sweep cigarette butts out of your way before going inside(Outside seating was available as well). We ordered a quesadilla for an appetizer thinking that it would be a normal size quesadilla like you find everywhere else… wrong! They bring out this big ol’ fatty complete with salsa, sour cream and guacamole. Our salads came out at the same time, and were equally monstrous. After seeing the feast that already lay before us, I made the conservative call to tackle the salad and wait on the quesadilla(fortunately for us both). After about 10 minutes, our main courses arrived. The prime rib was a healthy slab and was cooked perfectly. It didn’t have the heavy flavor crust I am accustomed to, but it was delicious nonetheless(did I say it was huge?). Next to my slice of dead cow, there was a heap of garlic mashed potatoes and a large pile of green beans that had been sauteed with bacon, onions, and garlic. I honestly must say that those green beans were nothing short of a hand-me-down from God himself. If I didn’t love meat so much, I could live on those beans alone — Absolutely grubbin! Our service was excellent(Sorry I didn’t get her name), and our drinks were never empty for long. We will definitely be back!

Our very first stop in Portland was Broadway Saloon. Interesting enough we landed close to midnight from Sacremento and started our drive toward Beaverton(our hotel) outside of PDX. We called to see if they were still serving food and sure enough they were. The bar was very simple, had some gambling machines on the window near the entrance. Bar top was full, so we sat at a high and the bartended took our drink/food order Overall cold beer, good burger & apps! For a late night shot in the dark decision, very good choice!

We came here recently, fresh from PDX and adventures overseas, intent on having a lovely steak supper at a highly reasonable price. Instead, we were persuaded to try Broadway Saloon’s newfangled«Wilbur’s Revenge», which was apparently just recently introduced for some sort of regional burger tournament. That behemoth burger utterly vanquished our mortal shells and every bit of our exaggerated appetites. Mounds of residual pulled pork and pepperjack cheese, smeared w/a sort of grimy lasciviousness w/aieoli(sp?), an enduring testament to our epic battle and utter loss. Alas, there were no white flags or napkins anywhere in sight, to wave to the victor, that wasn’t already generously stained w/bbq sauce I always wondered what my personal Waterloo would look like. I had no idea it would come in the form of Beaverton-style pub grub, served up by about the friendliest female barkeep among the mortal realms. Granted, it is so much easier to be gracious in victory, than it is for some of us to be gracious in defeat. Even so, even so. Her efforts were greatly appreciated, as were here amazingly bad jokes. She was every inch our peer and master, as entertainment for the evening went. A salute and many noisome cups raised for Broadway Saloon. This was a mighty fine way to welcome a pilgrim traveler home. Now can Oddysseus truly rest his head and take flight back to the land of Nod…

I’ll take back anything negative I said about the Broadway Saloon. I stopped back in with a few friends and unlike my last visit it was slammed with customers. The service was outstanding. The drinks were good just like my last visit. It was just a much better vibe than last time. Our server was phenomenal, not just with us but all of her tables. According to our receipt her name was Ashley so hopefully that was her, great job! We’ll be back.

Small place, tough parking, nowhere near anyplace we’re going… but we keep going back to Broadway Saloon! Truly some of the best bar food around. The cordon-bleu chicken sammich is nothing short of ridiculous! We’ve only been for lunch, so I have no idea what it’s like here in the evenings, but during the day it’s certainly a local’s spot… and that’s not a bad thing. The staff is… used to dealing with their locals… so it may take a minute for them to warm up to you, but we’ve had nothing but good experiences. Maybe 8 taps or so… I can always find something I like(I’m a non-hoppy guy… so 70IBU IPAs aren’t my thing), and of course, a full bar. Go hungry. You won’t be when you leave!

I am on a quest to find the best burgers in Portland. Broadway saloon is in the top 10, perhaps top 5. Why? Because they have a great simple burger. Lardo may have some strange magical process, that imbues meat with more flavors than necessary. Le Pigeon, has special French baguettes, that have been paired with beef since the reign of the Sun King. But Broadway Saloon has taken Winco’s finest and turned it into gourmet fair. Broadway Saloons deceptive hamburger tastes like you could make it at home, of course, it tastes like you’d have to obsess over every detail for decades as well. If you want a great hamburger, and a beer, go to Broadway Saloon in Beaverton. It isn’t the most daring, but it certainly is perfectly cooked ground beef, between a solid bun, with good fresh condiments.

I’ve been to the Broadway enough times over the years that I’m surprised I’ve never reviewed it. But it’s that kind of place. Everything is fine and relatively unremarkable, I forget to review it. We’re usually stopping in for a cocktail or two, always on the way to something else. It’s reliable, if a bit too dark for my liking. But the food is what got me to finally write something. Both of us wanted a decent burger, and living in Beaverton we’ve somehow never found a great burger place nearby. We had heard good things about the Broadway’s food, so we thought we’d give it a shot. Smart move! We both ordered the half ton cheeseburger, which despite the name is not a half-ton but is a good size and filling. It comes standard with cheddar and swiss, and you can jazz it up with bacon if you want. It is very, very good — perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked and on a toasted bun. Comes with a side of fries or tots, which are fine but the fry sauce is what makes it. It’s the same kind of ketchup/mayo pink concoction you’ve had before but with a kick of horseradish. I don’t like horseradish, but I loved this. I put some on my burger and I think it’s even better on that than on fries. Great burger and we’ll be back again. It’s been ages since I’ve had the steak dinner there, though I remember it being good and I want to try that again soon. I still can’t go over 3 stars because it’s a little dark and a little dingy, and not terribly memorable otherwise. But get a burger, you’ll do just fine.

Flew into Portland late and needed a bite on the way to the hotel. I wanted breakfast, and the omelette sounded delicious. I was a little miffed that they weren’t able to make me one even though the menu shows they would after 11pm; something about another table ordered too many things that needed the grill. So I got the Cobb salad. Delicious– piled high with good avocado, bacon and a wonderful bleu cheese dressing along with crumbles. Very good.

The saloon continues to meet and often exceed my expectations. It has new ownership over the last year or so, who I feel has kept the soul of the place intact while adding a few improvements or tweaks. The reasonably priced steaks and burgers continue to be a center piece. Excellent drink specials and happy hour. And, honestly, a terrific, fast, and experienced staff who seem to appear right as you wish you had a drink(especially Karmen) really make the place stand out. It is low key and has a nice worn in feel without being a dive bar. Prices for drinks are FANTASTIC. Mixed drinks with«well» liquor are rarely more than $ 5 at any time of day. They’ve recently added breakfast which I haven’t had a chance to try, but look forward to doing so sometime. They have upgraded all their TV’s over the last year and it is a great place to watch a game as well. I can also recommend getting take out! it is a great option. Free wifi is also available
