Juan is the worst. I had one bad experience with him about a month ago, just really unpleasant and rude enough that I had decided not to go back to this location. Today it was on my way to work & I thought I would give it another try, everyone has bad days. Apparently Juan has them often. He was there again and super rude, enough so that I feel compelled to write this review. Basic customer service means a simple hello & thank you are expected, and even if you are having a bad day, if you do these two things, your customers generally won’t complain. Juan does not appear to understand this. I would not want him representing my business or interacting with customers– ever. He’s just a jerk. Rude, and unapologetically so. It’s too bad because everyone else at this location is super nice & pleasant, maybe Juan just needs a refresher from his co-workers on how to work with the public.

The space is bright, always clean, and casual. Efficiency seating. The menu is varied, with lots of room to customize. The bowls combine individually boring but nutritious ingredients, top with special sauces, and are magically delicious. Employees are great about substitutions(brown rice for white, etc) and you can pick proteins to add. Stick within the yumm bowl family and they will be yummy. Maybe don’t come here for the salmon, have heard less raving reviews on that. But really? Who orders the salmon at a bowl restaurant? Chicken skewers, however, are tasty. Better yet, just add chicken to your bowl. Healthy, affordable, fast, and delicious. Yumm!

I have no idea what it is about this place but the food is always good, especially a hot bowl on a cold day. I love the different bowls and prefer them without the tofu or chicken instead I sometimes spend a little extra and get a giant cookie. The cookies are sinfully good and the perfect size to split. One of the things that makes Café Yumm so unique is its mix of eastern and western food giving it a very satisfying feel. Plus I love how diet diverse the menu is, a little something for everyone.

This place was recommended to us by a nutritionist to be healthy but after trying it, it’s pretty gross and we won’t be returning. I got the teriyaki bento and the chicken was grossly overcooked and I couldn’t eat it. It also was one skewer of 3 pieces of chicken on a bed of rice for $ 8. My fiancé got the original bowl and added chicken. It was OK but a lot of rice and sauce.

Waited for a long time. People behind me had gotten food before mine. I was just one person should not take that long. Not sure I will come back…

If Café Yumm were closer to my home I would probably eat here at least once a week. I’m not a vegetarian or anything, but whenever I’m feeling like a fatty I treat myself to an edamame bowl. I say treat because it’s delicious! I love the seaweed, fresh ingredients, brown rice, and the Yumm sauce is so good. It’s such a perfect mix of flavors that I don’t miss the meat one bit. I also like that they use cardboard bowls and I’m pretty sure their take away utensils are bio-degradable.

Food is great and very healthy for a decent price. But there is terrible service. Management is sloppy and this location is always understaffed.

I really love their various vegetarian bowls. This was the first location I ever ate at as I used to be within walking distance. The staff has always been really nice and fast.

Chicken tasted a little like freezer burned chicken so don’t know what that was. Wasn’t enough seating, had to wait about 5 minutes just to sit down. They do have Tapatio which makes everything taste better

For when you feel like something that is ACTUALLY healthy, CY offers lots of options for different dietary desires(and needs) and it helps if you prefer stuff in a bowl. My personal fave(keep costs down by adding no meat — not needed) is the souper bowl — has your choice of soup(they’ll let you try a sample so you can be sure you’ll like it) and the b. rice, ‘cados, tomatoes olives and dairy if you wish. Some people love the yumm sauce, my hubby cannot go near(severe allergy to nuts) but have it on the side if you aren’t sure. I crave their food and wish they would open a location in Sherwood — pretty please?

I have to update this review because ever since Juan has been there– I have had zero issues with my order. He gets it right every time, is super friendly and accommodating! This is a great spot for a healthy delicious lunch.

I love Café Yumm. It’s a healthy, affordable, and delicious meal and I definitely recommend trying it. I always get the Hot & Jazzy, and I couldn’t tell you exactly what’s in it, but it all mixes together just right. It’s spicy, but also wholesome, and the avocado gives it a nice aftertaste. I’m sure the other bowls are good too, but this one’s my fave. Don’t get anything but the bowls here — I had a sandwich once and it was very meh.

This place makes vegetarian food so super indulgent. It’s quick, it’s healthy(mostly organic), and it’s YUMMY. What more ya wanna ask for?

I love this place! I drive all the way from SE Portland to this Beaverton location! The bowls are awesome! And good prices! You can add chicken to your bowl or extra avocado! They also have brown rice available! I used to go to whole bowl all the time but I need more variety AND meat sometimes!

How is this place rated so low?! I freaking love yumm sauce and I can’t get enough of it! I’ve moved away to San Diego now, and I still make my mom mail me or bring me yumm sauce when she visits. San Diego has their«own version» or whatever of this called«Bitchin’ sauce» and it just isnt the same. I’ve never been let down with any of the yumm bowls, but the sauce is really the key. I can pretty much dip anything in that sauce and it is amazing.

Love that over 50% of their food is organic, including the brown rice, black beans, mild red salsa, and yogurt. My boys(ages 7 and 9) BEG to eat here. They love the Yumm! Bento, which includes your choice of white or brown rice, a creamy ginger Asian cole slaw, chicken(or tofu or tempeh) and a side of Yumm! Sauce. My personal favorite is the Chilean Zucchini Yumm! Bowl with the Wrappit! Option, meaning that they put the contents of the medium Yumm! bowl inside a big, warm tortilla. Other menu items we thoroughly enjoy are the ginger-garlic veggie burger and the salmon burger. Their chocolate dipped cookies are the perfect sweet ending to a delicious meal here! All three flavors are great, but the chocolate chip is the family favorite! Lunchtime(noon to 1pm) tends to be VERY busy at this location, so we prefer evenings/dinner time which is always quiet, with ample seating.

Ate here twice, both times I got a Yumm bowl. It was okay. I ate here when I was working close by and didn’t bring in my lunch that day. The line is very long and my lunch break was practically over by the time I got my food. I wasn’t really a fan of their sauce, even though I do really enjoy all the ingredients. The tempeh was pretty good. Guess it’s just not for me.

I post a fair amount of reviews, and they aren’t usually five stars. The five stars on this review are not due specifically for the food, the establishment, or the business, but the service and staff. Of course, food, service, appearance, cleanliness, selection, etc., are all important; but for me, the most important aspect of handing out my hard-earned money to a business is the honesty and integrity of the staff. I want sincere, friendly, and professional service. I want to see employees that are genuinely happy to be there because their employer treats them right. It is very obvious to me when a server has to force a smile and pleasant greeting because they are required to do so. Genuine sincerity cannot be faked. My son has extremely high expectations; and is notoriously difficult to please, especially when it comes to restaurants. He worked in the restaurant industry for years, so he has a very good understanding of the nature of the business. A friend of his told him that he has to try this place, and that he will like it even more than his favorite place. My disbelieving son had to check it out, and was shocked to find that his friend was right. He suggested that I check it out, but my son and I have very different taste preferences, so I wasn’t in a hurry. So, onto the actual review. Last night(Friday,) we went to Café Yumm! They were not busy and had only a few customers. They greeted us right away and offered to help us with any questions about the menu. We each had a question or two about the options, and they were extremely helpful. The food was delivered quickly by the same person who took our order and rang us up. Doing three jobs at once, she was really hustling around, but she did so with a very friendly attitude. There were at least a few other employees there who were also working hard and seeming to enjoy it. The food at Café’ Yumm is very unique. I’ve never had anything quite like it. I didn’t know what to expect but from the name of the place, thought it might be old fashioned home cooking like Elmers but in a more casual setting. It’s more of a chipotle/strada-ish type, except that you place your order from the menu and pay, but then your food is prepared out of sight and brought to your table. Our orders were two wraps, one plate, and one bowl. The value was pretty good, a little high compared to the serving size, but excellent compared to the service, presentation and quality of food. All non-GMO, real Tillamook cheese, etc. Most places are into giant serving sizes. I hate that because I have a small appetite and absolutely abhor wastefulness. My small bowl was perfect. Each ingredient was perfectly prepared and delicious. The Yumm sauce is different from anything I have ever tasted and hard to describe. Creamy, spicy, and sweet, not overwhelming but very flavorful. The tables, floor, and restrooms were clean. Two restrooms are not enough, but I think those kinds of things are decided by building codes. I did something I never do, and forgot my phone here. I figured it was gone for good, and it was almost closing time so I had my daughter call them to see if they would look for it while I drove back over there. When I got there, I was surprised that there were a half dozen people in line when it was just 15 minutes until closing time. I would expect them to be tired at the end of the day, but everyone was still rushing around with a smile. I got in line, but the cashier recognized me and went in the back to get my phone. They had not only found it, but secured it for me. In this day and age, that’s very surprising. I am so impressed with this place that I hate to mention this; but a few hours after we left, three of us had a little bit of a stomach ache. Granted, it might have just been trying something new, or something that we were sensitive to. I’ll try Café Yumm again, then I will know if it was me or the food. My one complaint was that the sun was very bright so shades would have been helpful.
