Everyday Music

I’ve spent a lot of money here in the past and when I went today for a simple return it turned out to be anything but that. It was a brand new vinyl bought here for $ 23. They wouldn’t accept it back without a receipt, fine. The guy then offered to buy it back so I said sure — he scanned the item and the site told him it was worth $ 26. He then offered me $ 10 for it instead. This is still a BRAND NEW ITEM by the way. If you want to get ripped off, receive lowball offers, and act like you’re bothering the employees there if you have a question, by all means go to Everyday Music on Cedar Hills blvd.

I go to this store all the time and spend close to 100 bucks on music every time, but it will be a long time before I go again after the shitty customer service. Got to the store at 9:45, start looking around, to hear a guy coming from the back bark out, «We’re closed.» I look around to see if he’s talking to the other employee or me, and he’s looking at me and again yells, «We’re closed.» He then tells me it’s 10:00, which it most definitely isn’t, and unless I know what I want already I have to leave. Pretty sure he was the manager too. Guess I drove there for absolutely nothing.

EM used to be alright ONLY for the fact that they were open late. Their hip hop selection absolutely blows. They have literally zero madlib albums. Their «new» used is recycled and never new. The employees regularly skim the best off the top. And now THEY AREN’T EVEN OPEN LATE ANYMORE. Therefore EM is simply garbage. No longer worth ever going to. The Internet is here. I’m all about supporting local record shops but let’s be real– this place is a chain. And a bad one. Like Applebee’s. What’s next… Closed on holidays? :/​piss poor management, terrible buyers terrible selection.

After F.Y.E. Music store left Beaverton I didn’t know where I would go to buy classic music and movies. Until I found Everyday Music. The staff here is amazing. They have a massive selection of movies and music. I called them and asked them about a movie that I was looking for and guess what they had it. When I came to pick it up it was already at the counter with name on it. I loved that! I highly recommend this music store.

I had the same experience as another review on here. I called about an album, if they had it in stock. The guy was noticeably annoyed and like I was inconvenient. I asked «is it busy, I can call back later no big deal». He said no, so I’m not sure what I was interrupting that was more important if there were no other customers. Anyway I was kind of off put so I told him I would just check later.
I inevitably came in the store a bit later, due to its close proximity to where I live. When I asked about it I think he put two and two together and realized I was the same guy and gave me a nice and pleasant eye roll, while he went back to look. There was NO OTHER customer in the store, and 2 cars in the parking lot (assuming employees)… not hard to figure out why its dead in there…
When you are selling items that most other places have the same exact thing… don’t have shitty employees… you won’t get repeat business. :)
I ended up not buying there, if I could give 0 stars I def would.

What I’ve seen at Everydays is that the employees are very nice and it’s cool to have lots of records to look through, but the records are too expensive. This is a used record store and there are many other channels to buy used records, but they keep pricing records too high. For example they had a Run DMC 45 single for $ 10, come on now. It’s just one example that shows they’re trying to get more than top dollar. They must be doing something right to stay open for years, but I won’t be back.

Came to see what they had in their used DVD section and ended up picking up way more then I had intended because they had such a good selection. Everything was well-​organized and the salesman was nice, talked about Phillip K. Dick for a bit because one of the movies that I picked up was A Scanner Darkly. A good experience and I’ll be back.

The selection is pretty large (even though they didn’t have what I was looking for). But the prices were a bit high for used CDs. And I can only assume that the employees haven’t changed much since their old jobs at Blockbuster. They were rude, would barely make eye contact and were clearly put out by my ONE question. Bad form!

For those of us who haven’t completely surrendered to our tiny mobile devices to digitize and store our music, this place is a godsend. I used to really love Django’s in downtown Portland, and indeed purchased many a used 45 and cassette tape from there. But they’ve gone the way of Tower Records and so many other competitors, who have been rendered redundant/​superfluous by the Internet.
Everyday Music, and the nostalgia they capture (this location is right by where the legendary erstwhile Disco, Earthquake Ethel’s used to reside), might make them worthy of 5 star consideration, but not until they come up w/​a public restroom! C’mon people! Too many trips here have been cut short by that old familiar urge to purge, and why deprive yourself of more potential consumer dollars, Everyday? I mean really, though. There’s so many good deals at Everyday, and so many bands and songs you’ve forgotten all about til you walk through the doors here, that it can’t help but just make you wanna s&&&!

RUDE! I called asking if they had a record I want to purchase and the man who was «helping» me acted as if I was an idiot wasting his time. I was asking straight-​forward, yes or no questions so what was this guy’s deal?
I called with the intention of going to their store if they had the record. Turns out they did indeed have the record I was looking for but there’s no way I’m going to their store now.
DON’T TREAT YOUR CUSTOMERS LIKE A NUISANCE. It’s not cool.

I’ve fallen in love with Everyday Music. The Beaverton location is the only one I’ve been to, but it’s been a great experience each time. I’ve found enough gems to keep me coming back.

Best record store west of the tunnel! LP’s, CD’s, DVD’s, Blu-​Rays, Posters and more…

I stop in about every other month to pick up something I can’t live without. As far as do they have what I want the answer is yes. I am usually seeking something off the beaten track and I am usually not disappointed. I sure hope that there are other people out there who prefer to buy music in person instead of buying online. Tip: If you’re like me and don’t take such great care of their valuable cds, their Scufs section may not be pristine, but they work great for me!

Been living around this area most of my life and would come here to buy CD’s, like Sublime, when I couldn’t find them anywhere else nearby. Fairly good deals and they have pretty much everything you would be looking for.

Excellent music store with a great selection of new and used vinyl, cds and dvds. Their vinyl selection is one of the best I’ve seen and their prices are pretty reasonable too with lots of competitevly priced music save for the rare collectible. The staff are pretty friendly. They’ll do custom orders and they’re full of hidden gems. Love going here on a regular basis for all my vinyl listening needs.

Everyday Music has a good selection of used and new DVD’s, CD’s, VHS, and even vinyl records. The staff there are knowledgeable, and the prices are often great.
Downsides? If you bring in your own stuff to sell, don’t expect much money. We got ripped off one time when were desperate, but we were desperate, what can you say? Also, «some» of the staff there have a «my obscure unique music is better than your music» attitude. So, you might encounter a little snobbishness here. Other than that, the place is great.

EM has lots of great deals on DVDs, CDs, records, all that good stuff. It’s really cool you can buy and sell your used stuff!
They have new and used items of course, and plenty of them. The staff is pretty friendly and I’ve been able to find CD’s/DVDs that are much harder to find elsewhere. Definitely a good deal!

Every time I need to buy my brother some obscure CD, this is the place I turn to.
If they don’t have it (and they often do, which occasionally freaks me out when I haven’t even heard of whatever band du jour he’s into), they will order it for you.
So nice, too.
And of course I have to browse for myself when I’m in there. last time I found some groovy Latino music I hadn’t heard since I quit Spanish class in college.

As much as I dislike F.Y.E. I do think the scan and listen shopping experience is helpful. Everyday Music lets you take a CD (or vinyl) to the front of the store and listen but it’s a bit of a hassle. E.M. is great if you know what you’re specifically looking for.
They have three Jandek albums so they have enough selection to please the bargain hunting music geek.
