Although it should just be common sense, Fred Meyer grocery baggers/​clerks either don’t know or don’t care about how they bag groceries. More often than not, soft produce such as tomatoes and bananas are put in the bags first followed by canned goods so that if you have chosen relatively undinged fruits and vegetables, they won’t be by the time you get home. Furthermore, they seem to be oblivious in taking into account the customer’s age and physical condition. Putting a two liter soda bottle and half-​gallon of milk in one plastic bag when the customer is in their 90s, bent over, and using a cane demonstrates a remarkable obliviousness.
Fred Meyer management clearly needs to initiate a remedial course in Grocery Bagging 101 for many of their clerks/​baggers. At the Beaverton store, there is one very obese clerk who seems to be unable to learn the basics even after weeks of suggestions.
In general, the quality of the produce and clerks/​baggers has been in decline for some time.

I like that Freddie’s tends to have almost everything I want to shop for. But… I almost never shop here without trying at least 3 other locations first. Why? Because the price is usually at least 25% higher than my other regular stores.
Your wine section is lovely, and your cheese selection divine.
I really miss that you’ve removed a lot of specialty items from your natural section, mostly in the health section. Only 6 essential oils? Come on…
I’ll continue to shop here, because they have some odd items I can’t find elsewhere. But only after exhausting other options.

This review is not so much for this particular branche, but more for the whole «Fred Meijer» concept here in the PNW.
Never came across this in California and had to check it out when I moved here: what an amazing store!
It’s not a store where I regularly shop, but I’m impressed with their whole selection. It’s almost more like a small department store than a grocery!
Definitely be back!

This Fred Meyer has everything except a clothing department. The service is almost always great. Use the Fred Meyer app for additional savings and coupons.
The bakery staff will decorate just about anything you need for your birthday cakes and more. Not to mention the quality of the fresh baked goods is always exceptional and a lot less costly than some other bakeries in the Beaverton area.

My daughter purchased a watch from another retailer and needed to have a couple of links taken out to fit her wrist. She called ahead and found out that the Fred Myers Jewelry had a gentleman who was on site and able to help.
I took the watch in and there was only one person ahead of me. I had a 15 minute wait. The jeweler was able to size the watch immediately in less than 5 minutes. Very skilled. They made me feel comfortable even on a «Black Friday» shopping day.

It’s OK. If you’ve never been to a Fred Meyer, think of a Wal-​Mart supercenter with the most epic beer aisle ever.
In fact, if this store was only the beer section, it would have 5 stars from just about every person who comes here. Seriously, if you like beer, come here.
Groceries are fine, and much more affordable than some of the other options nearby.
Sometimes you can snag a good deal on candles, or trash cans, or clothing, or electronics, or grapes, or any of the other random assortment of things that they sell here.
I’ve never spoken to an employee here, generally try to do self checkout.

Great neighborhood grocery store. They have everything organic and it’s way cheaper than going to New Seasons down the street. My only complaint is that the deli and soup sections have very few vegetarian options, but we make it work. I don’t shop anywhere else for groceries.

Fred Meyer is a one stop shop, but then you have to find someone to help you out in departments. I have picked up a new respect for customer service and they have it, if you are willing to find someone and then ask for help. To actually have someone to ask you if you need help or did you find anything its only as you are walking out the door unless you want to go back through the hassle of now finding what you didnt get and waiting back threw the line.

I’ve been shopping at this Fred Meyer off and on for many years.
Sadly, I find the service has deteriorated noticeably, especially since Kroger bought the chain.
When I can’t find something at Costco, Fred Meyer is usually my first backup. Often they have what I’m looking for.
My last trip was to buy some lottery tickets and groceries. When the lottery machine kept rejecting my perfectly filled-​out play-​slip I decided to have «customer service» run it.
Nope — they can only check tickets for payout — and all too happy to tell me so. When asked to look at the play-​slip to see if they could spot the problem I got a blank stare, a shrug, and a non-​committal «I dunno».
Awesome. Or not.
So I was left to spend more time trying to figure it out, which I did.
It’s this kind of crappy numb-​skull «help» and «customer service» that is driving longtime customers like myself away in droves. Like many big-​box stores, Fred Meyer seems uninterested in hiring people that are sincerely invested in helping other people.
It’s really frustrating as a consumer, and moving forward I will be looking for a viable replacement of my #2 grocery and household items source. That is, a store that cares about customer service and the interactions employees have with their customers, lest we lose sight of exactly who is paying the bills.

This location has a wide range of selection and multiple departments including quality grocery, electronics, clothing including a Nike footware store, home and garden, etc.

I walked in to just look at the TVs that are available, not looking to buy at all. Frankly was going to go somewhere else completely, just killing time. A few minutes in and this man Derick just asked me if i needed help at all. He was in the middle of something but saw me looking and answered the few questions I had. Even walked me over to the customer desk to fill out the Visa app, and back with me to the section. I left because I was not intending to buy, but then turned right around, found Derick, and purchased a 40″ TV, for $ 50 under what I budgeting, for the exact one that I wanted, because of the fantastic service the Derick provided. Even helped me load the TV into my very small car. I was very pleased with the experience.

Tried to turn in misplaced cash, but after being ignored by food manager and chewed out by store manager, I came to conclusion that this Fred Meyer prefers customers that steal and are dishonest. Feel really let down by a store I had a lot of faith in. I expect that type of bad customer support service from Safeway and Albertsons but not FM. This happened earlier this year, check their Facebook page if you don’t believe me.

We recently moved back to California! And, beside missing EVERYTHING about Oregon except the weather, I MISS FRED MEYER!!! Great customer service! Awesome products! Great food and overall GREAT EVERYTHING!

This Fred Meyer store is the best, compared to the other locations. I always get teh Oregon wild caught shrimp meat here, at the sea food section and compared to the Tigard or other location, here the shrimp meat is always fresh, some times they have it frozen, and that is good too. I also think employees here are all so very helpful, friendly and have great customer service skills, both in the fresh produce area and at the Deli, compared to the other stores. Especially the Deli. I often buy the Simple Choice smoked ham, which is delicious and all natural. And the people who serve at the Deli are so amazingly patient and gracious. Comparing even to new seasons’ deli, where youc an find a similar kind of ham, all natural, but the people at the deli seem to have a big attitude and arrogance and do not great customer skills, while here I have always been treated with respect, grace, kindness, that is why I keep returning to this store

Negative side: i don’t know where the hell anything is.
Need a key cut. Big kiosk in the entryway reminded me, but only cuts basic door and masterlock keys. Went to paint, picked up the provided phone and they sent someone over within 1 to 2 minutes. Cut my key and I’m on my way.
I feel weird giving Fred Meyer 5 stars, but really what can I complain about? How rude it was that the guy cutting my key asked me how my day was and interrupted me while I’m trying to write my Unilocal review? It took me too long to walk from the paint department to the produce to find my wife because the place is gigantic? I got a key made and a bottle of port at the same place, am I supposed to be upset about the lack of a hot stone massage in my trip? Pretty much anything you can find to complain about, they sell the solution to (more port).

Fred Meyer is always the place to go when you have a bunch of random things on your list. I’ve almost always been able to find what I’m looking for here. That said, there are still some pharmacy-​related products that you would expect to find in such a big store, that they don’t stock. For example, when I travel I like to use those little tiny ziplock pill bags to keep my vitamins. They don’t have them. I have to go to Walgreens for them. Still, Fred Meyer is a great «all-​under-​one-​roof» store. Also I particularly like THIS store because they have clothing. I can always find a deal on Levis here.

Today, I went on an epic journey to find Diablo III: Reaper of Souls. To my dismay, my Fred Meyer didn’t have it. I went inside with my partner in crime and… what’s that? They have it! What a crazy random happenstance! But, herein lies another delimma: paying for it. Yes, my wallet screamed but I didn’t care. I believe a gentleman by the name of Jim helped me in electronics. He was very professional and nice. Such attitude like this is needed in the morning.
The only complaint I had was: Why in the seven layers of hell is this Fred Meyers so nice looking? I’m in love with this layout so much that it makes me sick. Your apparel section makes me envious. I wish my Fred Meyer looked like this but, sadly, my Fred Meyer is the one on 102^nd in Glisan. There’s no hope for that one with all of the wackadoodles there!

My elderly fan fell apart towards the end of last summer, so I chucked it (sorry old friend) at the time and just never got around to replacing it until it got too hot to sleep again. I figured Fred’s would have the best prices and best choice of fans and I was right. After a quick checkout and good night’s sleep (after a few not-​so-​good nights of sleep during the heat and increased crankiness), I’m inclined to send thanks Fred’s way for the availabilty and pricing on a good fan. My only criticism of this location is the parking configuration; kinda makes my hair stand on end coming or going.

Well… It’s another Fred Meyer. Nothing special and looks a bit drab compared to the one on Hawthorne but it’ll do.
They don’t sell organic apple cider but they do sell organic apple juice. Good enough I guess. I should be happy they sell organic things at all I suppose.
Lots of parking. Located in a convenient spot.
Not much to see here. Get in and get out.
