Futrell Autowerks

I recently took my 2008 Audi TT in to Futrell Autowerks on a recommendation from an old colleague. Now, perhaps I’m a little new to the high end car shop model, but this place impressed me at every turn. I left my car at the shop after closing hours (when I got off work) and received an email the next day letting me know their progress on my scheduled maintenance (almost done) and an item of concern (still investigating). They kept me in the loop, responding promptly to any question I had (again, by email), and provided pictures of work they’d done. It may seem like a simple thing, but getting emails instead of having to wait by my phone really helped me out at my loud workplace. They even took the time to do some research for me on some components that appeared to be missing (I purchased the car used). Their waiting room is comfortable, the staff is friendly, and I was pleasantly surprised by their prices. I will be returning to Futrell.

I Just bought an Audi A3 and wanted more speed and performance. Futrell has a great reputation so I decided to take my car there. I was very, very impressed. Dean, the owner, took care of me from start to finish. 1.5 hours later I was out the door with a much faster car.
The truly impressive thing was the extra effort Dean put in for no charge. The Audi dealer could not figure out my XM ID (the radio was not displaying it) and told me it was my problem. Dean said I was not leaving until he figured it out. He pulled my stereo out, photographed the ID# and emailed it to me. He actually stayed late to do this. That is going the extra mile.

Futrell is a great shop! I’ve had the check my alignment a couple times, once it was barely off and they charged me $ 50 and the other it wasn’t and it was free. Went to les schwab before here and they messed my alignment up and charged me $ 90. For anything that is German they do a great job! Will be going here for future mods.

I just wanted to say that Futrell’s was one of the most honest and friendly shop’s that I have ever delt with. My son had problems with his VW and they went above and beyond to make things right. I talked to Michael on the phone a few times and he was just an extremely friendly and honest person that always explained things perfectly. If you need work done on your car you should be going to them!

I’m so happy a friend saw me whining about not being able to find an honest, knowledgeable VW shop anywhere and recommended I try Futrell. I had been to Green Drop who always charge the same as a dealership, sometimes more, for the hipster vibe. No thanks. They never seemed to really know my car either. I tried the dealership in Beaverton — even worse! Charge like a dealership but add on trying to tell me that my entire car needs replacing. $ 3000 of repairs needed on my $ 1,500 2001 Beetle?! ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR DAMN MIND?!
Futrell tried to find the cheapest fix for all of my car’s issues. They could have totally lied and just replaced a bunch of shit and charged me a thousand bucks like everywhere else has done (I tried 3 shops back east too). Instead they sent me home and told me to start putting top tier gas in to see if it would fix it. It ended up being fine for 5 months, but the engine light needed more diagnosing. It was just a couple of cracked pipes for a couple hundred bucks. They also changed out my emergency brake handle cover for $ 50, when every other place quoted me $ 500+! Say what?! They all claimed they couldn’t figure out how to just fix the cover alone, that they would have to pull the whole assembly out. Liars. I also like that Michael kept me up to date every step of the way with emails of pictures, estimates, and explanations. They don’t upcharge you on the hourly labor costs either, they’ll actually give you the half hour instead of rounding up! Unheard of :)
Michael sent me to Advantage Collision Center for some body work, and they are equally great!

These guys not only put up with my constantly breaking down Audi that I LOVE and had refused to get rid of up until recently, but they also do an amazing job dealing with my warranty company. They have been spot on with service, repairs, and billing from day one. It’s been a great 3 years with them! Hopefully when I sell my current Audi and get a new one I won’t have any issues, but if I do, I know I can rely on Futrell to take care of her. Special shout out to Dean and Michael — you guys are the best!

Dean and Mike are great they get the job done. New to the area and had no idea where to go to take in my Audi for service. So I looked things up on Unilocal to see and what do you know Futrell Autowerks came up. I took her in they were able to take care of me without any problems. Thanks.

If you want your car tuned, they’d love to do it. For maintenance and repairs, although I’m sure the technical skill is top notch, I’ve found customer service lacking at times.

Dean and his team do fantastic work. I recently installed a $ 16k upgrade on my vehicle — there was no upselling at any time. Rather, Dean pushed me away from elements I didn’t need.
What you are going to get at Futrell is an extremely knowledgeable team that is oriented towards customer service before, during, and after your experience with them.

I stopped by to get a diagnostic run on my car. The man behind the counter was less than friendly or helpful. He seemed bothered that I was troubling him by stopping by. He treated me like I knew nothing of cars and was an idiot due to my lack of technical knowledge. Of course I don’t know much about cars, that’s why I’m at a repair shop trying to pay somebody to help me. I would not recommend this shop

Super knowledgeable, friendly and professional. I wouldn’t take my car anywhere else. The prices are fair and you know your car is being worked on by a pro. The waiting room is pretty cool too.

I have been here on three occasions since my original review (come to think of it, I don’t know if that is a good thing), and have a fourth scheduled in a couple weeks. But regardless if it is a good thing, it is nice to have Dean and his staff available to work on my car.
Completely professional, very helpful, incredibly knowledgeable. Dean has worked with me personally multiple times in helping coordinate my drop-​off or pick-​up of my car after hours given the distance I live from his shop. His willingness to stay late or meet on weekends has given me the ability to continue to use his business. And whether it is 7:30pm or on a Saturday (when his business technically isn’t open), he always has a smile on his face.
Oh yeah, in addition to the VWAG cars he’s always worked on, he is now an authorized Dinan dealer (congrats, Dean!). So bring your BMW to him for service or tuning, if Munich-​based cars are your thing.

This place rocks! They are friendly, professional and know what they’re doing. They let you know what you need, give you an estimate and you don’t feel like they’re ripping you off. I’ve always been able to get a same day appointment and they’re extremely efficient. Dean is the best and I won’t take my VW elsewhere! Highly recommended.

Dean Futrell knows his stuff, seems extremely honest and is very competent. Highly recommended if you want any work/​advice on your Audi (particularly compared to the corporate lackeys at Sunset Audi).
I’ve got an Audi A3 (that I love) and the jokers at Sunset pretend that car doesn’t burn oil at a much faster than the recommended oil change cycle. Well known and documented problem that Sunset won’t acknowledge for fear of warranty issues and the like.
You’d never get such nonsense at Futrell. Instead, you’d get good advice.

The guys here do top quality work, and are always helpful even in a pinch, especially on oddball things like rattling exhausts, and custom clamps, etc. Did a great job on my car and will be taking it back to them frequently. Best Audi independent I have found in Portland Metro area.
