It was a good place when it opened. But the glory faded away. Their plus point is that they do provide large selection veggies but often i found fungus on them. Same goes to other products such as masala’s and maggy they may be expired. Do check expiry date before buying anything as returns are not an option. They are also not giving a well printed receipt these days. I am getting a half printed receipt since October, even after repeatedly letting them know about this.

Double check the prices during billing. The prices displayed in the aisles don’t match the billing price more often than not.
Some items are much cheaper in other Indian groceries. Their pricing used to be competitive. But not anymore.

I had recently moved from CA and I found this shop is expensive if we need to get some Indian vegetables. Later I got a suggestion from my friend that its better to get the vegetables in Walmart neighbourhood store and if you need some Indian stuff other than vegetables you can it from here. For ex., the yellow onion rate is 79c/​lb. I used to get the same in CA 39c/​lb and the green mango I got for 4.78c. Please try to fix the price reasonable. My intention is not to give the bad review. Just want to give a note that we are not good with this price.

Excellent selection of frozen meals, including breads as well as tandori fried breads, prepared meals, a small limited produce, but they carry so much. You’re one stop shop for great Indian grocery and spice needs. One of the best I’ve seen.

I love India Supermarket! The staff is very friendly and helpful when I have questions and the products are excellent quality and the selection is superb. I really enjoy the spices, British and Indian teas and cookies, rice, dal, the frozen veggies and breads. The curry leaves, chili’s, okra and other produce are always fresh. I have bought some Indian housewares from them and have been very pleased. My husband and I have been shopping there for two years now and are very excited to see they are expanding!

Clean aisles, well stocked with frozen products, masalas, pickles, rice and atta. They also have good selection of indian veggies. Place gets very busy on the weekends and I always try to go there during the weekdays. They staff is friendly and will answer questions. You can also ask about products they don’t carry and they will either try to get them or give you reasons on why they don’t carry the products. Between apna bazaar and this shop all my indian food needs are covered.

I dont trust these guys… they sold 7 oz of cashew for $ 4.99.
5 mins later at Trader Joe, we found the same at half the freakin price!!! So are they thinking we are all idiots???
They returned my money but no apology, acknowledgment.

I was there about three weeks ago on my multi-​state tour of the northwest with my family. We had a vacation home in the area and we wanted to cook some Indian food. So, here I am checking Unilocal «Indian Grocery store». That landed me in India Supermarket.
I live in California so prices were about 10% more than what I am used to. But, it was unlike any store we have in Bay Area: Clean, well-​organized and great customer service. I really liked the fact that Cashier stopped in the middle of transaction and answered some quick questions. I hope they carry on the tradition and force other Indian grocery store to be more kind and helpful to their new customers. Thanks

Really terrible! The vegetables I bought didn’t turn out fresh. The arbi was all bad on the inside. Also, I forgot my atta packet on the counter, when I realized after 2 days and went back with the receipt and asked them if I could have the atta packet. They refused flatly and told me they do not remember and I had to purchase it again. There is no concept of customer service whatsoever. I am never going back.

India Supermarket is located off Cornell Road near the Walmart Neighborhood Market. India Supermarket is actually a very aptly named store. The property sports a large parking lot and their product line is huge. India Supermarket is truly a «supermarket» in every sense of the word.
One of India Supermarket’s greatest strengths is their refrigerated and frozen sections. I know of no other ethnic grocery store in Portland that can offer as many refrigerated and frozen foods as India Supermarket. Among the delicacies here are yogurts, paneer (Indian cheese), naan, pita bread, frozen vegetables, and frozen dinners.
India Supermarket also offers items like produce, teas, spices, grains, flours, rice, snacks, and cooking utensils. The produce is kind of high at India Supermarket but what you’re paying for here is quality. For example on our visit India Supermarket was selling Roma tomatoes for about $ 1.19 a pound. However, the Romas here were so much larger than what we found at neighboring grocery stores. We saw produce at India Supermarket that we had never even seen before!
India Supermarket is a great place to buy spices and rice. The spices are arranged alphabetically at India Supermarket. The spices here are mostly sold in bulk which can save you a lot of money. There are so many spices for sale at India Supermarket that your eyes will probably glaze over.
The rice is also mostly sold in bulk. Large sacks of rice sold at very reasonable prices. If you do what it says on the rice bag then you can have delicious rice just like they serve at Indian restaurants! We saw families buying like two gunny sacks of rice at a time at India Supermarket.
Service at India Supermarket is friendly and sweet. Indian music plays in the background and gosh you feel like you’re in a Bollywood movie here. Next time I make myself some Palak Paneer I’ll be going to India Supermarket for my ingredients. If you love Indian foods then I think that India Supermarket can become your go to place also!

India supermarket is a relatively new addition to the Portland area, but they have shown to be good competition: their prices are good compared to others, and the store is fully stocked. The vegetables are good quality and fresh. Service with a smile, and very helpful staff. Lighting is bright, and the store is well kept. A good shopping experience, and would recommend the store to anyone.

One of the reasons I miss Berekely, CA was the abundance of Indian food. OMG. Just the thought of Vik’s Chaat makes my mouth water. I also have fond memories of my BFF & I trying to make these Indian treats in our tiny college apartments.
When I stumbled upon this place (next to the UFC Gym, which sadly is the first reason we noticed it), I was so excited. Half an aisle full of Shan’s spice mixes to make everything from butter chicken to paleek paneer. Fresh paneer, frozen half prepared naan, fresh produce, all sorts of spices, and hot samosas in a warmer in the back. Frozen thali dinners!
Wow. This was little trip back memory lane for me. I over loaded up a cart with thoughts of many Indian meals to come bigger than my stomach. They even had Indian movies available at the counter.
Move over Vik’s. Armed with pani puri flavor instant noodles and masala dosa mix, I’m on my way to recreating some delicious memories!

Very new store right close to Apna Bazaar, they do have some good and extensive variety of all the Indian supplies, and they are open later than Apna Bazaar on weekends.

My experience with Indian super market is good. You will get variety of Indian products there.
