There was such a wide selection of games! I would definitely recommend for families and friends. We tried a ton of games, new and old. The staff was so friendly with helping us explore new games. Definitely going back!

I was a little unsure what to think, when some out-of-town guests told me they wanted to go to this business park in Beaverton to to check out a board game museum. It’s certainly not a museum in the traditional sense-it’s much better defined by the«Interactive» part of the name. When you come in, you walk into a room that has 2 – 3 display cases of very old or rare games, a small gift section, a few tables(most that look like the cozy dining room tables you’ve played many games on), and a long bookshelf stacked with games. My friends had already picked out some games they wanted to try when they stopped in earlier that day, so we jumped right into playing a game. As we were setting up, I looked back over at the bookshelf and commented«Wow, they have so many games!»…little did I know that was just a section of what they had. In the back half of the space, there is a dozen or more 8 ft shelves just stacked with games. Some were games from my childhood, others were totally new to me. All of the games seemed to be in very good condition(which is where the«museum» aspect comes in), although I believe most, if not all, of the games in the back are playable by guests. The people who work at IMOGAP were very nice and welcoming, but not too«chatty» like some docents at small museums can be. They also had a few small snacks for sales. Not sure how they feel about bringing in outside food or drinks if you plan to sit and play for awhile. Bottom line-if you are looking for something fun and a little different to do, this place is quite the hidden gem.

My «go to» place for senseless fun and casual learning in Portland. Comfortable, cozy environment, and an enormous collection of board games and puzzles(over 3,000!). Kyle and Carol are friendly and brilliant ludologists. I learn something new about board games and their history every time I visit. Would recommend this place for all ages.
