Menlo Square Apartments

I don’t think the other review is real, it’s certainly not accurate. For the money, yeah, it’s pretty reasonable. The units are in fair condition. Take note, they are not energy efficient at all. Our apartment leaks heat like a sieve during the winter and cool air in the height of summer when we run the A/​C. Part of the reason for that is the fact that the windows are old, single paned, and sweat like racehorses. Only one building in this complex has received new siding and vinyl double-​paned windows. The other part is the faux weatherstripping on my front door (and just to get that that put on took forever). During the winter we (2 people) spend approximately $ 300/​mo just on gas and electric. Totally not joking. There have also been several major water leaks due to rusting pipes that continuously have little tiny sections removed and replaced during any given incident. And let’s not get me started on the unholy mess the cheap (and did I mention messy?) contractors leave behind for me to clean up. When it rains the faucet water is frequently dirty and needs to be run before it is clear. I suppose management is pleasant enough when they’re around, but it doesn’t seem to be frequent and while they listen to complaints, rarely are things accomplished by asking just once. Oh. Landscaping. Yeah, it’s not bad, but if you’re working trying to pay rent and a $ 300 utility bill, when am I supposed to notice? Maybe when I go to my car to find the landscapers have blown all the dust and crap onto my car. Thanks.

These units are kept in good condition, have good closet space, and excellent value for the money. The management here is very professional and they do a great job responding to maintenance requests in a timely manner. The mature landscaping provides a lot of shade trees and the courtyards always look beautiful. We were thrilled to finally live in a place with central air! The complex is quiet even on the weekends and is very family friendly. We have been treated better here than anywhere else we’ve ever rented. I would highly recommend this place to everyone.
