Not really sure how this place has the reviews it has, but overall, very disappointed. Let me start with the bright spots: Toppings/salsa bar. Nice selection here(pico, guac, salsas and sauces galore) Pastor taco And maybe the chicken taco. Though it might just be average is it was only good because I ate it after all the others The not great: Portion size. Yeah, they’re $ 1.25 each taco, but they are TWO bites each. Not exaggerating. There are VERY few things I would pay $ 0.66 a bite for, even if these tacos were good. Overall, the tacos were very bland. The toppings bar helps, but the meat, which is obviously the focal point of the taco, was very bland aside from Salt. Probably the worst carnitas and barbacoa tacos I’ve ever had, I wish I was exaggerating. I wanted to like this place, but my disappointment with highly rated Mexican in and around Portland continues, much to my dismay.

Best and cheapest tacos in all of Portland. none of those white-boy tacos here, straight up street tacos only. good salsa bar. do it.

Pretty good taco cart. Could it be better? Yeah… I just need more sauce and veggies on it. Their meat is well cooked and had a ton of flavor. Normally go street tacos but have come to find that their selection of salsas is pretty darn awesome also. No alcohol. But fast service is perfect for your lunch break.

It seemed like this could be a good find until I got the food. The meat was really low quality along with the rest of the food. I actually lost my appetite. The only good thing I can say about this place is that they are friendly.

I read the reviews and it seemed like the spot to be at! We know our Mexican food. My husband is Mexican, and we are very particular about our tacos! Let me start by saying I was excited when I saw they have homemade tortillas! That’s a plus! My boys are very picky about their rice and it was so good! Then I took a bite of beans. WAYTOOSALTY! I just figured someone messed up today and left it at that. My daughter said her quesadilla was really good! She loved the tortilla. Then my husband and I sat down to eat… From the salsa to beans, everything was so over salted it was licking a salt brick. It was so over bearing I couldn’t eat my burrito. My husband doused his tacos in lime and toppings trying to cover the saltiness to no avail. Needless to say, we are very disappointed. We need a new spot and I guess we’re still looking.

This was my favorite Mexican place in Portland before they moved to their new location. I’ve been to the new location twice and am so dissappointed. Everything is overly salty and extremely bland. :(

Oh man, those a sauces will make your whole mouth DANCE! Delicious. There is a protected weather table; and an open season table on site at this food cart; but take away works just fine as well

This is a really great spot for tacos. Probably the best on the westside of Portland. Great tasting beef tacos, simple and full of flavor. There is a small picnic table to eat outside in the winter months. We will definitely be back.

Estoy enamorada de te. Recently moved within a mile of this gem. Burritos are okay and tamales are good, especially for $ 1 a pop, but the tacos are where it’s really at. $ 1.25 each and always freshly prepared, with a few spicy pickles on the side and a solid selection of condiments available. Pile on the onions and cilantro, dab on some salsa of your choice, spritz with a lime wedge, and inhale. Don’t bother getting them to-go; time is of the essence with these babies, and they take all of 30 seconds to consume. If you’re spending under $ 20, and you almost certainly are spending under $ 20 unless you’re buying for several people, there’s a small surcharge to use a credit card. Come prepared with cash. Very friendly proprietors!

I had the 4 tacos plate with Pastor, Bistek with Black Chile sauce, and a Horchata. So far, everything has been excellent. Seating is a bit poor, but they have tried to make a little dining area on the side and have a picnic table. More than expected from a food truck really. Overall, excellent food.

Been here a couple of times. Food is good, service is not. I ordered and paid for a steak plate. I waited for 12 minutes and three customers behind me received their food before me. Then the cook said he was out of steak and asked if chicken would be okay. I said what other choices do I have he said«chicken». Waited another seven minutes no one else around. Brought it home, instead of a bunch of extra meat, he put in extra microwavable veggies that made the whole dish watery. Not please with this and will not go back.

This is the fucking spot man! Like legit California tacos de tripa on a sizeable tortilla for like 2 pesos, jk dollars. I do judge a good taco by two things: their tripa meat, y si me da chorro. I been on a mission to eat some good mexican food around portland and this place is lit. lol they got some bomb ass cucumber agua. I tried their special, carne de puerco en salsa verde, pretty tasty, nadamas más carne pa la proxima vez. The vibe with the manteles really makes me feel at home, con little peras on print, and the mini bar of condiments always full. The only thing is they don’t got a set telephone number, and hours can vary if they sell quicker that night. Also, just once were my tacos salty, so better tell ‘em how you like the sal. From a real mexican to the Unilocal reader, eat here guey!

Not sure how I could have missed reviewing my favorite Mexican place in Portland… But this is my favorite Mexican place in Portland. It’s simple, well prepared and incredibly tasty and about as good as you’ll find anywhere. Tacos are the winner here but it’s all good. Seating is minimal and uncomfortable, it’s cold outside in the winter but at least the parking lot now is level. It used to be you had to hold your plate to keep it from sliding off the table. None of that detracts from what is nearly perfect, simple, street cart Mexican food that is consistent and delicious.

The fiancé and I are sooo glad we stumbled upon this place on a random errands day. We moved to Portland from Socal and have been lamenting about the lack of authentic Mexican food in Portland. The only other place to get them is on Lombard in N Portland but this truck is much closer to where we live. They have all kinds of meat options you’d expect in a true Mexican taco truck — I get the weird stuff like lengua and cabeza and loved them. They also serve burritos and sopes at equally ridiculous price point as their tacos.

I hail from Los Angeles and so I’m pretty picky when it comes to authentic Mexican food. The tacos are first rate. I always get the carnitas and these rate. The hot sauce and tomatillo sauce are FLAVORFUL! No salt needed. Yum. The only thing that put me off about the location was not that it was in a parking lot, but that the auction house next store has a sign on the door that says«this is not a gun free zone». Ewww, unfriendly.

Quick, cheap, and absolutely delicious. I had three tacos: barbacoa, carnitas, and asada. Each meat was well cooked and seasoned. Although the seasoning bar was fully stocked with salsas and condiments, you almost didn’t need to add anything to these tacos.

Unfortunately my first visit to Ochoa Lupita was a bit uneventful. I was looking for a cheap late night taco stand and I found Ochoa Lupita. At $ 1.25 each, I decided to order 6 different ones. I had El Pastor, Lengua, Asada, Carnitas, Goat, and Pollo. I immediately went to the salsa bar and topped every taco with Pico, cilantro, red salsa,.and green salsa. Not sure if it was the red and green salsa or the seasoning on the meat, but all my tacos tasted salty and the seasoning for the meat was kind of same. Just one big plate of uneventful sameness. The saving grace was the Pico and the guac. Anyway, I got up and ordered an horchata so I could finish. Well, 6 tacos were too much and I went home with half.

I’ve lived in New Mexico, worked for Mark Miller, eaten my way through Baja California. The sauces and Salsas here are really good. The green tomatillo salsa is Fresh, herbal with the funky green flavor of fresh tomatillos. The red tomatillo, chunky with bits of skin is bright and spicy. The green avocado tomatillo builds on the power and intensity of the plain green, but smooths it out with the divine fat of ripe avocados. Which brings us to the salad bar guacamole. Chunky with less expensive ingredients like tomato and onions, this could have been a weak point but it was refreshing, bright(there is that word again) and carried with the scent and backbone of the avocado. Remarkable. The tilapia on the tacos was mild and flaky. Small limes added a pleasing sweet and sour note on a hot summer’s day. This was a perfect meal. And by the way, this is why I give perfectly acceptable meals two stars, good meals three and excellent meals four. Because there needs to be some headroom, some bandwidth for when you encounter a place which perfectly expresses its food with no errors, and where purity of heart flows through the maker’s hands and into the food.

I’ve eaten here several times now, sampling tacos, quesadilla, and burritos. The tacos are my favorite, and I especially appreciate the salsa /cilantro /radish /onion bar for adding heat and flavor. If I stick to tacos, it’s a four star food cart. The quesadilla here is perhaps the worst, lifeless quesadilla in the Northwest. It’s that pathetic. No salsa bar is gonna save this dish. My husband thinks a single star rating fits their chicken quesadilla. Evidence? He pulled out a wad of yellow chicken skin from his quesadilla and just stopped eating. He had a valid point. The refries here lack flavor, too. These beans are runny, thin, but come off better in a burrito than as a side. I’ll be back for tacos. My family votes for a pass on everything else this stand offers.

Wow! Now this is what I mean when I say good street tacos! Great street style tacos for $ 1.25 each, the meat on all was excellent from the asada to the carnitas. They have an excellent salsa bar for all of the topping you could possibly want including free guac! The drink size is huge for the cost too and the horchata was very tasty.

The food here is authentic, fresh, fantastic, and affordable! They have an actual truck now instead of just a tent! Friendly service too. I wish they would park closer to my office. I don’t have time to drive over here.

these are straight up «mexican» tacos. I have no idea how categorize these under regional style or types but this is what the real stuff tastes like or should taste like. for $ 1.25 per taco you get to choose between 15 ingredients including: brains, pork skin, goat, intestines, tongue, and the usual suspects. Each taco comes with two tortillas to hold the protein. Then you go to their«salsa bar» to load up on radishes, pico de gallo, onions, cilantro, spicy stuff, salsas(there is like 10+ things to pick from to put on top of the tacos). these meats are flavorful and most have a bit of a «stew», juice to them. besides tacos, this place offers burritos, tortas, quesadillas, and other things you’d expect + drinks. check this place out for a «real, authentic» taste

$ 1.25 taco deliciousness once you find the food truck, which is now hidden in the back of the shopping center. Almost no signage, even when you are practically standing in front of, or driving by, the food stand. With the rainy weather, the structure is hidden in tarps. It is just to the side of the Garage Sale Warehouse and there are two tables(fortunately under cover) in front of the store for dining on site. There is a nice choice of meat options for your tacos. Small(hand-sized) tortillas arrive with a scoop of grilled meat and then you get to dress it up yourself at the condiment bar. Four types of salsa, onions, radish, limes and a basic version of guacamole(light on the avocado) make for a tasty few bites. The serving size offers a perfect opportunity to order a few types of tacos to find your personal favorite. They also have some combo plates, but I’ve yet to try those. Thumbs up for being open on Sunday afternoons.
