I find that the boys shoes here don’t really stand up well to the average 7⁄8 year old’s treatment. I have to purchase new ones every 3 – 4 months. When I spend a tad more money at other stores I get 2 – 3 times the shoe-lifespan for less than that same increase in cost. On the other hand my daughter loves one of their models of girls sneakers and she uses them for a couple of years even with middle school PE thrown into the equation. who knows, but it’s just so different. I always check here first, but my expectations are not always met when I look for wide sizes. I won’t stop trying here, but I don’t get excited either.

So what’s special about a Payless? Nothing really. They sell knock off versions of everything that is currently trendy. And you have to be careful because sometimes their shoes are uncomfortable. But if you know that you’re only going to wear something a few times a year, then why spend money? I’ve always been a cheapskate though; I grew up wearing fake Adidas with either too few or too many stripes. I have to say, this is a comparatively small Payless, but they have something for everyone. And if you sign up for their text messaging on the spot you get an additional 20% off. I did that and then just unsubscribed. Who really wants to receive text messages from Payless? Also: kinda weird, but when did a shoe store start selling makeup and jewelry? Well whatever, I’m only there for the BOGO.
