I had the bistecca plate and husband had the the carne asada. Both were very good! Love their tortillas made with the Laroca flower. Not a fancy place, but simple family owned and authentic.

A little unassuming restaurant tucked in a strip mall in Beaverton. Great empanadas, tamales, and other apps. Came with pickled veggies and hot sauce. Very nice staff and cheap!

I must have been by this place hundreds of times before realizing it was there. It blends in with the rest of the building, but it’s a gem! Everything is seasoned perfectly. The carne and shrimp were incredibly mouthwatering — maybe the best I’ve ever had. Even the beans are amazing and taste homemade. We started with a papusa that had chicken and cheese. I’ve never had one before and it was delicious. Felt like we were in El Salvador for a bit. The service was also wonderful — very friendly and helpful staff. Can’t wait to go back and try more from their menu!

Great cheap eats, clean, friendly great service, and good food. $ 1.50 tacos!!! Strawberry lemonade with chia seeds is light and refreshing tasted more like watermelon lemonade which seem random.

This place was delicious, service friendly. Casual vibe with good eats and a lot to try whether you are a lot hungry or a little hungry. We tried pupusas with the pickled cabbage and salsa provided. Also tried the carne asada plate and veggie tamales. Plenty on the menu to make us want to come back and try more! Loved the family business atmosphere. Food did not seem over salted or commercial which we appreciate. We visited around lunch time and it was pretty speedy service and good eats at an affordable price.

Pupusas! So freaking delicious, I love that its a small FAMILY run joint. The kids help out and I just think it’s great. The food is always excellent, and service is super friendly! It’s so hidden, I almost don’t want anyone else to find it, but they deserve to be busy! Great neighborhood eatery, super super good. Great job guys!

Winner winner chicken dinner! Loved the place. Went there with workmates for lunch. We are always exploring places within 5 mile radius from work. Yes it’s a small hole in the wall style place. Probably not a fine dining/glass of wine experience for a date. Service is excellent and friendly. You can see they take pride in their product. I ordered a House Plate which is probably the best mix of sampling things. Very very good The other three workmates also ordered various dishes. All were impressed with their dishes. This restaurant is now on the«the regular visitation worthy list» vs our«trial experimental list»! I honestly couldn’t think of a reason why I would deduct any star rating given the food quality, taste, uniqueness(not that many Salvadorian restaurants!), service and price.

I’m Salvadorian and the food tastes exactly like mommas cooking lol. It was amazing I took my fiancé to eat the breakfast meal and had the vegetarian tamale and he loved it I ate the original pupusas with cheese and Lorocco and oh my god it was heaven! I recommend everyone who wants a taste of El Salvador to come here, I will come again for sure.

Nice lunch spot in Aloha, dishing out some traditional salvadorean fare. The service is super friendly. They are know for pupusas, which are essentially corn based flatbreads stuffed with meat or cheese. Kind of tasted like stuffed parathas. I got the Loroco and Cheese, Chicken and Cheese, and the Pork Beans and cheese. the first one was my favorite. The stuffing can be a bit bland for some of the combinations so the two sauces they provide are pretty welcome.

The food was awesome, but I’ll start with the service. The 3 young men roving the floor were helpful, polite, and attentive. Those 3 young men made me feel like I was at a friends house. I had never eaten Salvadoran food and they helped me with the menu. I ate the pupusas, 3 different kinds… I loved them, great little pouches of goodness. I had some sort of empanada that was good too. Even the coffee was good, drip coffee that had a tinge of cinnamon. The food was great, but the service took it over the top. I tipped the guys 100 percent of my bill that should tell you everything.

Unilocal you need to make this place Elite!!! As a native Californian from the Bay Area where Pupuserias are a staple, this place blows them all out of the water!!! The service was on point even though it was a busy Sunday evening. The horchata is fresh… Not sitting in a container. If this is your first time, I advise ordering the HOUSEPLATE! It comes with a pupusa, tamale, chicharron, yuca, and plantains! Yes you have to wait longer for your plate, but it is worth it!!! So much flavor, and it was straight from the kitchen and hot!!! This place gets packed, and I can definitely see why!!! I will definitely come here again and again!!! Thank you helpers for putting this place on the map!

I found this place on Unilocal and wished I found it earlier! I ordered my food to-go and got the pork/cheese papusas, a chicken tamale, and fried plantains. The papusas were delicious! It reminded me of a softer, thicker quesadilla. I wish I grabbed more sauce to eat with it. The chicken tamale was also interesting — I’m used to the dryness of Mexican tamales, so I really enjoyed the flavors that came with this one. The pickled vegetables brought it all together. Next time, I would dine in, order the papusas, and try the other items on the menu — everything looks delicious!

OMG. After traveling in Central America, I thought I was never going to taste plantains again until I returned. Sabor Salvadoreno to the rescue!!! I come here often for the pupusas, the carne asada, and the plantains with crema. So good.

Pupusas were on the brain, but we didn’t have it in us to trek to 82nd. We looked up what our options were on the westside and landed here. It’s in a small strip mall and a bit unassuming despite the random giant chef statue and pupusa flag. We went for 3 pupusas — pork & cheese, cheese & loroco(flower), and chicken & cheese. We also got the La chevere plate with grilled shrimp and chicken(steak is also an option)($ 13). The food came quickly and we chowed down. The pupusas come with the usual slaw and 2 sauce bottles, one mild and one hot. All were good. The pupusas were extra stuffed with juicy filling, which was awesome! It felt like a substantial meal at only $ 2.25 each. The pork one is nice & meaty, but the cheese & loroco is always my fave. The plate threw us because it was so good. Maybe we were also extra hungry after pumpkin patching. The chicken was tender and the shrimp was perfectly cooked. The flavored rice was pilaf like and flavorful. It also came with these awesome homemade tortillas that had little pockets in the middle perfect for dipping in the refried beans and filling with lettuce. 4 TVs in the back portion of the restaurant. 3 with soccer and 1 with Disney channel. The server was friendly too. The only thing that kind of sucked was they overcharged us. We realized after we left. Luckily it was the owner that did it and he refunded us the difference in cash. He was very apologetic. It was exactly $ 10 over.

I’m so glad we stopped in here one rainy Oregon day to satisfy my pupusa craving. They are delightful here. We’ve always taken it to go. And the price is reasonable at $ 2.25ea. You must try their horchata. I’m a horchata whore and next time I will buy this special powder that they offered and the wife looked at me as if I was asking for drugs. I’m a horchata snob too, and when I saw that it was powder… i almost fell out of whatever space i was occupying. I’m a firm believer in the soaking rice method, but they have completely won me over.

This is a small, hole-in-the-wall joint that has pretty decent food. They have something called pupusas that are muy sabroso(very flavorful). They’re a flat pancake-like(only thicker) item that comes with pickled cabbage and a mild or spicy sauce. Mmmm, good. I had the platanos(plantains for you English folk) and scrambled eggs, which came with mushy, but good refried beans and a sour cream sauce for the platanos. And a separate plate arrived with a toasted bread roll. Hubby had steak and a shrimp kabob with 8 shrimp on it. And some greens that could sort of pass as a salad, also refried beans and pretty decent rice. I almost ordered the nachos, but the«nacho cheese» is a combination of the canned, processed stuff and something they make. I don’t care how much you doctor that stuff up, it’s still gross and I won’t eat it. They did have 5 TVs with the soccer game and kid’s programming on them, which is so-so in my book. I think that unless you’re in a sports bar specifically, TVs are out. The one thing I did like(go figure) is the mechanical bird they had on the wall, chirping away. They sell them, too, for $ 30! While this place is fairly good, I really don’t think it holds a candle in food prep, presentation, and taste to Don Asado’s.
I have lived in California and Chicago, and traveled throughout South America. The pupusas are amazing here! Definitely must come here.
