The FLORAL department is absolutely AMAZING! I got married last weekend and they made my bridal bouquet as well as MOB corsages and the guys’ boutonnieres! They were absolutely amazing. So perfect! Skip to wedding day– 2 hours before the ceremony. My mother walks into my bridal suite with my bouquet– dead!!! Someone had put it in a fridge that wasn’t up to temp and my bouquet was totally ruined. We called Safeway and they has NO problem whipping up a new one with time to spare for me! I cannot thank those ladies enough. I would definitively recommend them!

Great place to get in and get out. Prompt, friendly service, walking distance to many apartments, though I do wish they had a larger organic selection.

This place needs to train their employees to put light things on top like okay it may not come to some people as common sense but good god you should be trained not to… like hello smashed cilantro thats at the bottom of the freaking bag smashed by cans and other crap like you dont just grab things and put it in the order it comes in like wtf
My cashier was jeff but he wasnt the bag person… it was a bag girl… middle aged and didnt even try to help and i re bagged everything and tried to save my smashed cilantro at the time of 6:10pm on 3÷11÷16

90% of time they over charge you. I constantly find outdated perishable foods on shelves. Today, it was yogurt– about 10 large containers that were dated almost 3 weeks earlier for «buy before date» I had a coupon for $ 2.00 off deli chicken and it rang up higher. When I asked the checker, she said– OH– it reduced it. So as I’m leaving– I see that it DIDN’T take off the $ 2.00 and I have to stand in line at the help desk. SERIOUSLY SAFEWAY– make it easier to shop or get out of the business. AND the Ads are crazy– some start on Tue, some on Wed and then some only Fridays. Clip some coupons, down load others— good grief– I leave there so frustrated. NO more. This very same thing has happened too many times to ever go back. Shop ANYWHERE else but there.

I seriously love going to this place! I don’t know how long it’s been since my parents and I first started coming.
Anyways, I came in last night (Monday October 5, 2015) around 6:45pm. I went to customer service because I had to make a return. The supervisor (Brian) was talking to another employee (forgot his name). Neither said hi and they kept talking to each other. When I thought they were done I started to say that I needed to make a return. But then Brian kept talking to the other guy until the other guy left.
Once he left Brian started to scan my two items and realized my reciept and rudely said oh are you making a return and I was like umm yes. So he cancelled it and re did it and rudely handed me my change. Then instantly started talking to the woman behind me.
I am sorry to say that I will not be back after I use the rest of my Safeway gift card.

Starbucks: I love it here! The baristas are always very sweet and seem happy to be there. I ordered a chai and one girl made the wrong drink so when I asked her about it she let me keep the wrong drink and gave me a free drink coupon. I remember one of their names was Alexeya and I couldn’t see the other girls but thank you for your service:)

I used to shop here all the time, now Walmart is closer and has better prices. Plus, Sippy stopped working at this pharmacy and moved over to the new Walmart down the road!

I’ve lived near this store for many years and while I abhor Safeway’s erratic price juggling practices, I’ve continued to shop here to avoid driving beyond what is now a rather unfairly cast neighborhood net of expensive-​to-​very-​expensive grocery operation. But now, Safeway has demonstrated what they are really about, with prices raised so high as to be ludicrous. They have truly joined the ranks of Albertsons and Haggens and there is little margin left between them and New Seasons or Whole Foods. Is there an increase in value with these prices? To the contrary. Some of Safeway’s produce seems dated when it reaches the bins, lasting maybe half a week after purchase. The meat and fish counter is very disappointing, as seems to be the talent of the butchers – a request to chop a whole chicken into 8 sections gave me a sloppy mess wrapped in cellophane. The Chinese food has gone from mediocre to terrible, and certainly awful on the nutritious scale, with balls of deep-​fried batter mixed in with the batter-​coated chicken. In today’s paper is a «regular priced» roasted chicken for 8.99. When I moved here it was 4.99, also not a good bargain due to its small size and liquid-​added contents. The bathrooms (I can only attest to the women’s) are barely passable. It took years of complaints to get, finally! a door that closed on the disabled booth, and now the toilet is in disrepair (someone will fall off and sue before it is fixed). The flowers are substandard and no bargain. Most of the produce sits untouched due to the pricing. The only reason I still enter the store is to use the pharmacy, which has served me well enough, and because of the friendliness of the personnel. It is definitely worth paying for the extra gas to go to Winco. Their prices have increased a bit, but there are still values at every turn – well worth packing a few bags myself to go where values and occasional bargains will still be found. Shame on you, Safeway!

My prescription got called in over two hours before I went to pick it up where I proceeded to stand in line waiting for them to find it to which took them a while to figure it out. The staff kept asking the same questions and wasn’t friendly at all. I will be going to walgreens from now on

I am a fan of Safeway! Great customer service and clean store! I’m a money saver mommy, so it helps a lot when my neighborhood store has price reductions for Safeway member and their weekly double coupon (up to .50)… Whenever I use my manufactures coupon, I always get double discounts!
Btw, if you guys haven’t tried the ENVY apples. Try this delicious apples! New Seasons was the only food store that only carry this type of Apple (over priced at New Seasons.) The price of this Envy apples at Safeway is reasonable!

I love Safeway. I know that I can depend on what they have in stock. While it’s no Whole Foods or New Seasons, it’s no Walmart (just up the street) either. Very reliable, somewhat reasonably priced grocery store.

I avoid this station when I can. The way pulling into it was setup is elementary at best. They are always busy, they never wash your windshield. Even with a 70 $ fill up.
When you finally get to the pump it takes anothe 2 – 4 minutes just to get an attendant over to you, and sometimes they forget you’re there.

I don’t think I’ve ever been here and not had to wait some incredulous amount of time for an attendant. The time I’ve wasted vy not being able to pump my own gas is crazy. I understand there is a weird law for Oregon where you are suddenly unqualified to do it yourself but at least hire speedy employees.

I’m an avid Winco shopper, so moving to this area where it’s quite a bit father away than I’m used to, I decided to give Safeway a try. With the card I know lots of good deals abound.
However, I realized the good deals don’t really apply to anything you really need. I can buy 5 cake mixes for 5 dollars… cool, but who the hell needs 5 cake mixes? I can get four 12 packs of soda for the price of two… well sure I’ll get that, but I really don’t need THAT much soda. Now I just don’t need to buy soda for a really, really long time. Everything that matters like toilet paper and actual food? Nope, no deals and much more expensive than I’m used to. Also, the choices are incredibly limited, we bought very specific things each month only to come here and not find it at all.
People are nice though, each associate that walks by always asks if I’m finding everything, quick to help if I need it. We always come pretty late so the associates are much more relaxed and chatty. They get three stars for that.
But I think we’ll try to go to Winco each month and supplement what we forgot or need again at Safeway.

There is a guy that works there with some sort of hipster hawk and a bad attitude who usually works self-​checkout or a register. Besides him, I always get great service, and love that they have tapioca-​wrapped sushi (pretty fresh + Japanese made) without rice! That is a huge deal to me. Love Josh at the deli! Super friendly, good guy.

This review is strictly based on my first Safeway DELIVERY experience this week.
I scheduled my order of about 20 items well over 24 hours in advance. I emailed customer service after my order was 30 minutes late, and I never got a response. Two men finally brought my order 45 minutes late. My bill was $ 12 more than it should have been because they had substituted items, even though I checked the «no substitutes» boxes for every item on my list. If the items were not in stock, either the website should have reflected that, or the items should have been left off the order. That’s what «no substitutes» means. So, I sent the order back with the two men, and I emailed customer service again to express my dissatisfaction. Safeway’s only response so far has been a «$ 10 + free bananas on my next order» email due to the «technical issues» they were having that day.
Thanks, but no thanks.
Additionally, my credit card was charged today for the order. So, now I have to call and get my money back.

This is the stupidest gas station. All the cars have to drive around the parking lot to get into a single file line. The point of entry to the gas station is when an employee signals your car to enter one of the aisles to get your gas pumped. I did know know this (who the f runs a gas station like this?) and just pulled up to a pump and an employee was giving me a nasty glare and signaled me to leave. His glare was like «you are an idiot get in line glare.» I just wanted to give him the finger. sorry dude for not knowing this really inefficient system you got going on here. There’s like two employees directing traffic for this gas station, while two if them were pumping gas for 12 pumps. Ummm… bad use if resources.

I have been a long time shopper of Safeway, the only time I really have an issue with them is a corporate policy issue aka the annoying ‘begging’ they do for worthy charities at the check out. Aside from that social pressure I like the layout of the this store — easy to navigate, not too large and not too expensive. Downside for me is the limited meat counter — it just never seems to have anything ready to cook that I haven’t tried already. The produce is one of the highlights for me of shopping here — it’s plentiful, well lit and the employees are always willing to help me out whether it be help selecting a melon or looking in back for something I need.
Overall, the cleanliness of the store and the employees make it a good all around grocery store with appealing specials like gas incentives and $ 5.00 Fridays. I just started using their online coupon thing and it saves me a few bucks or more, but you have to log in and click on all the things you want to buy that have coupons. I just do it mindlessly and click on every cotton picking item (except baby stuff, don’t need that!) and shop as I normally would. In end, I usually end up with about a 20+% savings as compared to not doing the online thing.
They have a decent floral area, 2 red boxes!, some hot food/​sammy/​asian hot food area (which I try and avoid due to needless calories & fat) and a hot soup bar. Standard Starbucks inside as expected.
Overall a decent store close to my house.

I must say this Safeway has improved greatly with the remodel. I at least no longer feel like I will get mugged or raped in the parking lot… or in the store for that matter since it was pretty ick before. They seem to still be one of the smaller stores though. I must say I am not a huge fan of coming here since I always have to wait in a crazy long line and their service is not that great but the location is so close to me that I cannot avoid dropping by on occasion.

This is a pretty decent Safeway.
I hear lots of complaints about the gas station, but I figure that is where you go when price is important and time and quality are not. It’s not worth a half an hour to save $ 1. sorry, but its not.
The store is almost always clean and well stocked. I avidly try to avoid the self checkout since it hates my reusable bags all the time. not sure why, but it does.
I buy almost all my staple non-​food items here, and some canned or dry/​prepared foods. I would buy ice cream here, but not an onion. Their onions have no tears in them somehow and that pretty much means no flavor.
Pro: good prices on soap, toothpaste, tp, chips, etc…
Con: no local produce, no local eggs, no great seafood or meat, etc…
