Sameday Auto Scratch & Dent Repair

We borrowed a car from a friend (never again) while we were visiting Portland. Unfortunately, we had a close encounter with a brick mailbox (hint: fender lost). Given our friends were doing us a favor, the LAST thing I wanted to do is leave them with the burden of repair even if we paid for it. After multiple, exorbitant quotes to replace the fender requiring 3 – 4 days, we were relieved to find «Sameday Auto Scratch and Dent Repair» could repair the fender in one day at half the price (i.e., NO BRAINER). Ben took extra care, reassured us they could take care of it and presented a few options based on budget. Simply, he was great. HUGE RELIEF! They did an excellent job and you can’t even tell there was damage. THANK YOU!!!

Sameday did a fantastic job! They quickly responded to my inquiry, provided me with an estimate, and scheduled my car within 48 hours. Not only did they fix the scratch (looks like new), but they also identified several other cosmetic issues and fixed them at the same time – and at the price we discussed (no deviation from the estimate they provided). I appreciated the service, professionalism, and the work, and would recommend them to anybody.

We had a complicated issue with our BMW that involved prior work done in this shop at the direction of Portland BMW. Had the work been done properly the first time, we wouldn’t have needed more work. However, thanks to the oxidizing paint improperly applied and cured by Sameday, we discovered by accident that our car had been in a crash and Portland BMW covered up the crash by lying about the body work. The manager at Sameday, Ben, eventually answered tough questions truthfully when Portland BMW did not. He also took the time to follow up with us regarding our situation, but only after I had to drive to the shop and see him in person. I could not reach him by phone. If you have a problem, ask for Ben directly because the woman at the front desk was awful. Do understand that if your dealership sends your car here for work and you have questions about that work, Sameday will not answer your questions or provide you the report. They will refer you back to the dealership for answers. As Ben told me, they are under contract with Portland BMW and will not talk about the body work done to your car because it could constitute a breach in contract. Ben did call me after my initial posting of this review and asked me to take it down after the repairs were made. I couldn’t do that because consumers need to be aware of situations like this and we deserve to know any shady dealings done especially in the used car business. We sold the car with full disclosure of this report and the prior problems with our car. Our new dealer was grateful for our honesty and welcomed our business and future business.

This place really goes the extra mile (inch)! I brought my 2006 BMW in for a nasty scrape on the rear passenger door and rear quarter panel. I was given an estimate which was 30% lower than a nearby body shop. I left the car for a day and it came back looking almost like new. They not only repaired the area that was agreed to, they virtually detailed the entire exterior of the car, resulting in a nearly new appearance. Elena initially greeted me in a very professional and assuring manner and everything was spelled out in detail. This is the second time that I have used their services and totally recommend their services. Thanks again in making me proud to drive my car!

Just had the rear bumper on our 2013 Avalon repaired that was damaged by a hit and run AH. Cliff did a magnificent job repairing and painting the bumper. It looks as good as it did the day we took delivery of the Avalon. I highly recommend anyone consider having this company repair damage done to their auto.

Not a pleasant experience here, won’t waste my time again.
Couple of cons:
1) They don’t work on weekends. While great for the workers and their families, they’re in the service business. Very inconvenient for others who work business hours… week days.
2) Finally made time to leave work and take my car for an estimate. The scratch on my car is not deep, but it is long — spans across multiple body panels. My scratch could be felt with a fingernail and therefore wasn’t recommended for their scratch repair solution. Was told they can’t help my mid-​grade sedan because their solution won’t blend with standard paint. I’d have thought a place with ‘scratch repair’ in their name would’ve been more capable.
Again, waste of time. Not sure how they stay in business.

Dropped in today to ask about some minor chips and scratches picked up on highways and grocery store parking lots in the first year of new car ownership. This is the first car in my 20+ years of driving that I really want to keep looking perfect. Elana cheerfully greeted me before I even walked in. She patiently answered all of my questions, came up with multiple options of varying cost and effectiveness and was very honest about the pros and cons of each. Ultimately, we concluded that DIY was the best way for me to go and she kindly explained what I would need, where to get it and how to proceed for the best results. Based on the level of customer service provided and the integrity displayed I will be back when I have more significant work. I highly recommend this shop based on my experience today.

If I could give Cliff 10 stars I would. He just left and my car looks perfect again. Had two scratches and some minor scuffs on my rear bumper. He came to my office and an hour or so later my car was brand new again.
Definitely recommend.

AMAZING.
A few years ago I had a Portland Perks coupon. I’d dented my car and they fixed it, and I got $ 100 off with the coupon.
Recently I ran into a pillar in a parking garage. I do that sort of thing. I emailed them using their online form and a few hours later Elena got in touch with me. She suggested I send more pictures, which I did. I made an appointment for the next day.
As it turns out, what looked like awful scratches was just paint transfer from the pillar. I was expecting to fork over a few hundred bucks, but Elena wiped it down with some rubbing compound and the pillar paint came right off, leaving my car’s paint unharmed. She also custom-​mixed some touch-​up paint for the few spots that were chipped. Now my fender looks 95% better. Only I know anything happened to it. Once I wash and wax it, it’ll look perfect again.
Not only that, but they didn’t charge me a penny. I was in and out of there in 15 minutes.
Seriously good service. I’ll be back the next time I run my car into something.

Elena performed the estimate on my car and Ben did the work. Excellent results, on time and for the quoted price. This is a class business. Everyone is attired in company clothing, they greet you with a smile and do what they say they are going to do. They are also well trained. If you have scratches/​small dings in your car, do yourself a favor and go here first. You won’t be disappointed and it will probably save you some serious money over a body shop.

Ben and his team were recommended to me by my Service Adviser so I expected great service. With my car sold and only five days until I was to deliver it to the new owner, I scraped the back side of my car on a palette of landscape blocks in my driveway. I went straight to Sameday the very next day, received a great estimate AND they were able to get me in the very next day! From start to finish, the process was seamless. My car was done in a day and looked fantastic! I will not hesitate to return for any future needs.

They were very efficient and kind to me! I came in with a nasty dent in my bumper, and the first estimate I was given was about $ 250 for the repair or about $ 800 for a new bumper. Then the manager came out and did a quick repair on the bumper. It left the a few waves and smaller dents, but I told them that was good enough for me, because I couldn’t afford anew bumper at the time. I went inside and prepared to pay when the employee who gave me the estimate told me that the manager wasn’t charging me. That kindness made my week and was something I really needed at the time, and I am sure to take my business to them again.
