OK you’ve think you know Scandinavian because you’ve been to Ikea… well this is a very different look. It is small, mostly filled with food but also other stuff. Lots of Christmas stuff in season. The staff is always friendly and it is fun to see all the stuff. Most of it is hard to find any where else. I always wind up with some candy… other then that not a lot here for me, but I know for some it is five stars and they can’t get enough.

I came here looking for proper Viking Jul décor(it’s like Christmas except it’s the original deal without all the BS that Christianity and consumerism imposed). They had some Julbock and a ton of cool little ornamental type stuff that you just can’t find anywhere else. Nice owners too and the prices were fair especially considering the rarity.

I have shopped at Scandia Imports for about four years now. The new owner has transformed the shop and it looks INCREDIBLE. Each time I go in, there’s a new layout and everything is so beautifully set out so it’s easy to view everything. Before it was hard to walk around and it seemed very outdated and old but Tina does an amazing job making everything colorful and inviting. The last time I went in she spent half an hour walking around the store helping me pick out a birthday present for my sister. How many shop owners would do that with you?! Plus now when I go in, I know to bring Zeus(the friendly shop dog) a nice little treat, which he is always grateful for! The food selection is awesome, if there’s something that needs to be specially ordered I know that she will order it and have it there asap for me to pick up. This place is a treasure that greets you with freshly made coffee and delicious Scandinavian cookies as soon as you walk in!

I love this little store and spend way too much money here. It’s just so nice to find things that are different than what you get in the cookie cutter big box stores. I just wish their hours were extended a little.

Cute little store in Beaverton. It is a good place to find gifts or home décor. There is a fair selection of food and candy. Minus one star– as I approached the jewelry counter the dog behind the counter growled at me.

What a cute, fun little store. So many beautiful Scandinavian Christmas items. Everyone was so friendly and we were offered a fresh cup of coffee or hot chocolate which was just what we needed on this cold rainy day. We will certainly go back.

This store is the only place in the Portland metro area where you can find Scandinavian chocolates/foods/traditional food staples from all the Scandinavian countries. They have beautiful glassware, awesome kitchen ware, and even gifts for children. They have great novelty items as well. This store is the place to go for all your traditional Scandinavian holiday gifts/foods/decorations. Plus, where else can you find already made Lefse, and amazing cardamom bread?!

Only place you can get real Scandinavian treasures of all sizes. Picked up some treats I haven’t had since moving to the Pacific Northwest.

This cute little shop is brimming with imports from Sweden, Norway, Finland, and other European countries. My Sweden-obsessed boyfriend and I went there expecting a musty antiques and imports shop with viking ships, mugs, maybe a helmet or two… I could almost hear sweet piano music when I opened the door. Children’s books in a nook to my left, Dala wrapping paper and refrigerator magnets in front, and in the tiny labyrinth to follow, everything from dishes, linens, and silverware to hand-carved figurines, Christmas ornaments, and paintings. A kindly old Finnish lady smiled shyly at the counter. OK, so… maybe Scandia Imports is more like grandma’s version of Norway and Sweden, but we DID find lots of viking ship stuff, including an awesome black-and-white painting of several men rowing. Slowly the place appealed to me. It’s stocked to the brim – shelves and shelves of merchandise at every turn. You’re bound to find something you like, even it’s just from the food and clothing section to the right. We got a delicious cardamom braid from Delphina’s Bakery and some European chocolate. The shy Finnish lady was kind enough to give me a small roll of Dala horse wrapping paper for free, and I also got a Dala fridge magnet and a carved bunny rabbit ornament.(I quickly fell in love with the Dala horses. =) Overall Scandia Imports is pricey, but a great place to buy a gift and certainly worth a visit.
