I used to come here because it was cheaper than Izakaya and had more variety than I Love Sushi but now there’s really no reason to ever come back here. I mean, the eel they purchased was always fresh and tasty but that was when they had some. The sushi cooks(I’m not calling them chefs) make fun of you in Spanish(yeah, keep assuming I don’t speak your language because I’m white) to eachother as they sit and wait for you to ask for something that ISN’T the same California Roll that’s been on the belt for hours. Mind you, it wasn’t always like this. You’d show up for some good-not-great sushi because you’re in the mood and not pay too much and leave with a modicum of satisfaction but now it’s just a place to go when you wanna get stared at by the angry manager and his idiot cooks. One thing I did find funny, though, was their new style«spicy tuna» which is tuna. With some Sriracha on it.

Not very good sushi quality. Spicy sauce is very important to me and theirs was very mayo’d out. I had to ask them to put more siratchi sauce in it. Eh just not my fave place so far.

Love the freshly made Philly rolls here! They have also recently added some servers to the staff– which is nice because the sushi chef used to have to do everything. My boyfriend and I have been eating here about once a week for almost 2 years. It’s not a fancy place, but I can assure you that you will not die of food poisoning or contract any horrible viruses from eating here. Good food, decent prices, comfortable atmosphere.

DON’T RISKFOODPOISONING !! I’D RATHERSTARVETODEATHTHANEATHEREAGAIN !! I have to admit, I didn’t expect it to be over the top since its a sushi track place. I should of listened to my gut instinct and ran back out. I hoped it was like Sushi Hana in Tigard, which is pretty good for a quick fix. I could rant and rage my disgust over this place, but frankly I have better things to do. I will say this is by far the worst looking fish I’ve ever seen, not to mention how it was cut… I just wanted to WARN and SAVE other American patrons from the same horrible experience and NAUSEOUS stomach. YOUCALLTHISSUSHI? SHAMEONYOU !! REPULSIVE&REPUGNANT The BEST sushi in town is at Hakatamon next to Uwajimaya Store on Beaverton-Hillsdale Hwy.

Star sushi is good for what it is, a conveyor sushi joint. Judging from some of these other reviews you would think they were expecting a four star restaurant. Stopped in here and treated a friend to lunch, sushi chef was nice and made some fresh sashimi for us. At a very moderate price! I’d certainly recommend this place for a nice inexpensive yet tasty lunch or dinner. Super high quality four star restaurant it’s not, but if you are looking for that then you probably shouldn’t be in a conveyor sushi joint in the first place. If you just want a casual atmosphere and tasty fish at good prices then check it out. Have the sushi chef make it fresh for best results.

Stupid, stupid, stupid! Why didn’t I check Unilocal before entering. I took it as an encouraging sign that there were three customers in there on Saturday at 4:00pm. I could tell from the track sushi that I wasn’t going to be blown away. Small pieces that even looked old. I should have just walked out. I decided to eat until something tasted weird. It only took 3 plates before I had some ahi tuna that was warm, cut wrong and had a super fishy taste. I almost spit it out but decided to risk food poisoning instead. Obviously, I left the second piece of ahi behind. My checker didn’t ask how the food was, otherwise, I would have mentioned the churning feeling that had begun in my stomach. I just hoped that I could get home before I threw up. YAY — I may it!

I was not impressed with this place. I asked for miso soup, and the cook said«We got no soups», then 5mins later the waiter asked me if i would like some«hot soup» which turned out to be a very watery miso soup. The sushi that I tried was not bad, but not worth the $ 15 that this placed charged me.

Dang it! Didn’t I go and leave my droid at home today. If I had it with me at lunchtime, I would have seen the sub-par Unilocal rating for this place and stayed very far away. I can’t say it was the worst sushi I’ve ever had. They had quite a few items rolling past on the track and I ate my fill for about 12 bucks. Nevertheless, there certainly isn’t anything very special about Star Sushi. The décor is utilitarian, if not downright Spartan. The sushi pieces were cheap for lunch – $ 1.00 or $ 1.50 – but they were rather small and the fish was sliced thin. Little balls of rice about as big as the end of my thumb on the nigiri. The Pepsi was nice and cold and appropriately fizzy. Can’t say I’d go back again, since there are a couple of other sushi belt joints nearby that are superior.

Surprised to see the reviews, we stumbled past this place on 4th of July, and found it packed with people, and so was the track. Sometimes I find myself in a kaitan establishment, and the mix of items is unappetizing or not what I want to eat. To the contrary, everything was fresh tasting, the staff was attentive to our water glass levels and friendly to top it all off. It looks like the non-sushi items would be worth trying. Although, putting a price on the menu would be helpful, the wafting smell of fresh cooked beef was a tantalizing hint that we should come back to try more.

Nothing good to report. Servers more interested in gossiping amongst themselves than serving. Sushi was bad, just bad, poor rice handling and lousy knife work. Don’t go.

I adore this place, although it appears I’m the only one. This was the first sushi restaurant I’d ever visited, about a good ten years ago. Since then, we have come to know the staff, who greets us by name and begins preparing our usual before we’ve taken a seat. My parents have divorced and my sister and I have gone off to college, but whenever we return to Beaverton, good ‘olé Star Sushi is there. The restaurant is almost always empty or near-empty, even at peak hours. It is conveyor-belt style and three different colors of plates indicate various prices(on average, $ 2 a plate). If asked, the sushi chefs will prepare specific rolls for your table. There are also various bentos(typical, nothing special) available, as well as an assortment of drinks and a few dessert options that I personally have never touched. The sushi is certainly nothing amazing, but I have my favorites and I plunk down in a booth here at least two or three times a month for some avocado, spicy tuna, salmon, flying fish roe and California rolls. Relaxed atmosphere, brightly lit, good place to bring first-timers and great for casual, American-style sushi dining.

Are You 486, because you sure don’t look it? RU-486, commonly called the morning-after pill, is a means of last resort. If you want sushi this should be your place of last resort. I bring up RU-486 because there was an empty 2-pill box laying on top of the garbage can in the men’s bathroom, I don’t know why the used-box was in the men’s room(and not recyylced), maybe it was placed there to throw, a supposed, female manager off the trail of some strange love triangle.

anyone who write a review for them and says that he feels welcome in this restaurant has to be either on Prozac or related to one of the Sushi Nazis who works there. The food is good, and cheap. and that’s the only reason I go there. because from the Sushi guy to the waitress. oh man oh man. they could take a customer relationship 2 days course at the corner Gas Station and would still learn something.

Yeah it’s the conveyor belt sushi line again. The stuff on it was pretty much the same thing over and over again, and although the top of the rolls maybe had a tuna or salmon on it, every roll had crab in it… just crab. CRAP! However, when I asked the sushi chef(who was just learning how to be a sushi chef) for a couple of nigiri… they weren’t bad. I could see why this place gets such crappy reviews but as I chased my crab rolls down with Ichiban… ahh what the hell, it wasn’t horrible.

Poor product + Poor service + poor cleanliness = one star that you’ve named your place after. Don’t go here! The food, atmosphere and staff reek of the same after taste that my husband had to brush his teeth twice AND mouthwash to get the nastiness of their spider roll out of his mouth. Shame on you Star sushi, stop giving bad sushi experiences. Change your evil ways.

When you go here, you’re treated like a house member. They will look at you(smile if they are in a good mood), and continue to whatever nothingness they are doing. You have to sit yourself, feel free. I advise you to sit nearby where the chef is so you can easily signal him what you want. Cause chances are, the food that’s on the conveyor belt is warm already. The menu isn’t at all extensive, just like your kitchen table. You get what’s on the belt. Look into your pantry and there isn’t much anything either. That’s the same case here. Your placemat is the menu so try not to spill shoyu(soy sauce for us uncultured ones) on it! oh yeah! the house needs to be dusted, floors wiped and the fish tank to be cleaned!(yeah, if only this is our house.) THANKGOD. plus one star for having a video poker room two steps away from the restaurant.

Why don’t I have Unilocal in my pocket so I could’ve avoided this place!!! I came in and had a seat at the bar and was ignored for a few minutes. I should’ve ran when I saw how ghetto it was inside, but I was hoping to find a diamond in the ruff. around the bar they has dishes of sushi which are on a track that rotate around the bar. My guess is you were supposed to take whatever you wanted and just pay for what you eat. Being that I was the only person in there at lunch time and god knows how long it had been there before I just waited to be helped. I forgot what I ordered but the point is it sucked and the quality was sketchy as hell. I spent about 8 $… bummer.

This place could quite possibly be the worst sushi I’ve had in months. I stopped by for lunch and spent $ 10 on unsatisfying food. I had one roll and one order of nigiri. Though the food was bland, I forced it down to avoid forking over more money for lunch elsewhere. Part of what bothered me is how unappealing the dining environment is. The lighting is Costco-esque and feels more like you’re eating in a warehouse than a restaurant. Ambiance isn’t everything, but it counts for something. On the plus side, the service was good and my water glass never went empty.

Having lived in Japan for a long period of time, I was excited to see a «kuru kuru» sushi. Everyone is very friendly and the sushi quality is pretty good. the menu has everything you would expect so if you don’t see your dish spinning around just place an order. This place used to be very reasonably priced but they’ve jacked the prices up a bit. Still, it’s a lot cheaper than buying store made sushi and of course the quality and freshness is superior.
