My wife and I were passing through on our way to the Bahamas, and stopped here for some sandwiches. They were surprisingly huge, and tasted amazing. The store is really nicely decorated, and the service was outstanding. We only wish they’d build one closer to home!

Back on the downward spiral… no daily special after only 3 hours, staff and service was super slow and order was incorrect. After a hour and no food we just ate and left. They need a major overhaul here or they will end up closed.

This place was a staple when I was in college. Wait times for food are always horrific unless it is deserted inside. But the menu variety and quality of food make up for it. My person favorites are the spinach and artichoke dip with flatbread and the Macado Flyer. Both are excellent. Portions are huge so there is plenty left for a midnight snack. Desserts are big enough for 3 – 4 people to share, easily. Overall: horrible wait times for food, friendly wait staff 75% of the time, excellent food

A lot of food for your money! I had the shrimp tacos and my boyfriend had a build your own sandwich. I enjoyed mine and he loved his. You can get as many vegetables as you want on the build your own, at no extra charge!

Waitress recommended the bid daddy steak sandwich. It did have a lot of meat but it was flavorless and unseasoned. I was expecting more. Service was just average

Very disappointing. Ordered the French onion soup and a Ruben. The Ruben was filled with fatty beef. And the French and soup was mostly salt and onion not a lot of soup. My dining companion/friend ordered the soup of the day, broccoli cheese, which had more the consistency of dip then soup. She also ordered a beef and cheese sandwich which, although the bread was toasted, was utterly unappetizing. The staff were friendly and attentive. However we won’t be back until the food quality improves.

The sandwiches are really the thing to go for at Macado’s. My kid was disappointed in her chicken fingers. They were obviously just plain-Jane frozen fingers. The sandwiches that my GF and I had were really good. They had this dessert called a Green Giant that looked awesome. It had mint chocolate chip ice cream, hot fudge, and York peppermint patty pieces all over it. Looked wonderful. But we were too stuffed to eat it.

Well let’s just say that a place that is billed for it’s «wings» should at least have a decent selection of wings… which they do not. For starters, when we checked w/the hostess/waitress and after letting her know we were a party of 10, her reply, «Oh great». Perhaps we should’ve taken that as a sign to leave… immediately. To be fair, those of our party who had a sandwich said them to be quite tasty & well made. One of our group ordered a salad which had more nasty brown lettuce than I’ve seen on a gas station salad; bleh! We had ordered some wings, so called… the honey barbeque were bland and seemingly dipped in room temperature store-bought barbeque sauce. Sorry locals… this place needs a serious overhaul.

The sandwiches are good, but the restaurant definitely needs updating. It looks and has a grungy, dirty, feel.

I’ve been here dozens of times. It used to be better, but these days the service is soooo slow, and management seems to not care about anything relating to quality. There’s little excuse for slow service too, considering the menu pretty much consists of cold cuts piled with different cheeses on different breads. Don’t get me wrong, the menu is dazzling, names of sandwiches are catchy, and they have Guinness on tap at the bar. The sandwiches are actually very tasty when you get them before you are so angry you want to leave.

I have given the restaurant multiple«2nd» chances but always leave disappointed. This restaurant has so much potential, unfortunately it is far from good. The menu offers a wide variety of sandwiches but the quality of the food is below average. Alot of the food seems to go from freezer, to microwave, to plate. The Service is incredibly slow. On some visits we have waited 30 minutes for drinks. the last time I was there I waited 1 hour and 10 min for a sandwich. The manager refused to discount my meal and said«you should have said something earlier». I admit the bar is very nice and provides a nice place to hear live music or socialize but the food and service is not worth the time.

Macados is a cool place, very good atmosphere, love the décor, wot not. I always order the Johnny Dee. love it! It’s a Bagel with grilled chicken and peperoni and lettuce and tomato, dip it in ranch! mmmmm.

Tons of different sandwiches. I had the«Carpetbagger» and it was awesome. I’d love to come back here to try out more sandwiches, but I’m not in West Virginia very often. The music was a little loud and service was ok. She asked me what beer I asked for right after I told her about it, then gave me the wrong one. This is my reason for 4 stars. I like all beers and wasn’t that upset about it.

Macado’s is a chain. They have goofy kitsch all over the walls, their sandwiches all have cute names, and they have a full bar. The setup is pretty typical, but the food is actually above average for the price. West Virginia is typically a culinary wasteland, so when I’m visiting I use Macado’s as a safe bet when I’m hungry.
