The Bake Shoppe

I planned my wedding in Beckley from Philadelphia where I was living. This was a hard task as many places require you to be there in person to do business in a small town like Beckley. The Bake Shoppe (which may have just opened) helped me design a beautiful, elegant and classic wedding cake. I didn’t want all of the typical wedding cake flowers and frills and they got that. It was perfect. Only down side? Aside from the two bites my husband and I got when we cut the cake, we didn’t get one single piece! Not even the top! So I’m gonna say that people must have enjoyed the cake! I would definitely use them again!

Originally, I drove to Beckley to find cupcakes or a cake at Delightfully Yours. However, once I got there, none were left. Someone pointed me to The Bake Shoppe uptown and boy, am I glad they did! I told one of the owners (I think) about my hour long drive to find a cake or cupcakes for my friends 30^th birthday. While most bakeries refuse to make a cake on the spot, The Bake Shoppe was kind enough to accommodate me. Not only did they make me a delicious chocolate cake, they also had a few pre-​made carrot cake cupcakes. The cupcakes were large and very moist and I enjoyed them. The only thing I did not like was the icing, but then again, I am rarely fond of icing. They also have soups, salads and sandwiches that I did not get the chance to try. Maybe I will try them next time – I will be back!
