I don’t have many complaints about this location. It’s clean, the staff is moderately friendly, and there’s never a wait for a machine. I joined a month ago, and I’ve been going to this location about 2−3xs a week. A great perk to the gym is having a fitness trainer create a workout plan. The fitness trainer I seen was Kevin. He is very friendly and too over the top pumped like he’s high off adrenaline(my fitness trainer stereotype, lol). Because this is my first time actually creating a fitness plan, Kevin assured me that if I have any questions, that he’s there to help. The only issue I have is parking… Those meter maids are lil punks! They wait for your time to expire; so, opt for train, bus, or bike. Which is what I plan to do from now on! There is minimal bike parking so beware ! Go Get Fit!

After sending two cancellation letters over the course of a year, I am still getting billed by these guys. When I called to discuss this with them, they told me that since I didn’t send my letters certified mail, they would not honor my request to cancel. They told me that certified mail is a requirement. According to their website it is preferred, but not required. I also told them in person before I moved away, and was told I needed to send a letter and in person wasn’t an option. Neither the certified letter nor the the fact that I cannot cancel in person are true according to their website: To cancel your monthly membership and stop the billing of the Monthly Membership Fee on or around the 17th of the month, the club must receive written notification delivered to the club on or before the 10th of the month either in person or preferably via certified mail to the club address.

So far so good this one is closer to Home but I usually go to Downtown Brooklyn –Duffield, one Big change for me was the space everything is pretty much crammed together butttt the updated Machines and other Amenities Make up for it. One thing I was excited to see was a stair master being that this machine is not at the other Planet fitness that I attend. I also like how they have the Hydro beds that are Great after a workout they get specific parts of the body that you want extra Focus on.

Clean gym, for sure, but, the location on Flatbush is much better due to there being more space with weights. On Fulton things are simply to cramped in the basement. It seems like there is less equipment, too.

This USED to be my gym. I just looked at my check in log, and over the five months I had a membership here, I went less than 20 times. I realized that I really, really hated how I just wanted to die whenever I was here. The color scheme is just horrible, for starters. This gym is so, so cramped. Fortunately it’s never particularly busy, but there is no room here to stretch out. I’ve seen some people doing lunges in the narrow space between the treadmills and the wall, or by the leg press machines downstairs, but there’s a six foot square space where one could potentially stretch after a workout – and that area is surrounded by people who typically do floor exercises with free weights. That never particularly struck me as safe – I’d like to not have a weight accidentally dropped on me. There’s one changing room in the women’s locker room, which is nice, and the bathrooms are usually clean. I’ve never had to wait for a machine, and the people who work out here are generally considerate folk who don’t selfie on a bench. The people who work here aren’t the most friendly. I think I was greeted once, but for the most part, people at the front desk are on their phones texting or chatting with their friends. As someone who hates going to the gym, it is nice to be greeted at the front desk to make me feel like going to the gym isn’t so bad. Fortunately, when I went to cancel my membership, it wasn’t as painful as I thought it might be – I came armed with my contact, just in case someone tried to pull a cancellation fee on me. There seemed to be some problems in trying to print out my completed cancellation form, but the woman who I assume was a manager was patient enough to work it out for me. In summary: it’s an ok gym. It’s bare bones, no frills. Now understand why it’s worth it to pay a little extra for wipes and towels at other gyms.

This gym is ok — it was great when it first opened up but there are a few issues. 1. The weight room is too small. Machines are very cramped downstairs and overcrowded after work hours. You can’t walk pass someone on a machine and get to the lockers or your the machine you want to get to without waiting and hopping over other machines. Management needs to fix this A.S.A.P. This will eventually cause a fight because people don’t want to stop on their machines to let everyone go by every 2 mins. 2. No one is checking the paper towel machines after work hours. I have been there twice when there was no paper towels to wipe the machines. Gym users do not like to walk all around and/or ask front desk and wait 5 mins to have towel paper to wipe the machine down. 3. No one is checking around the gym to smell how bad some people’s BO is and if they are wiping down the machines after use. The funk in this place sometimes makes me cut my gym time short. 4. The music is a little too loud and the t.v. should have closed captioned.

Everything is good except the music. Way too loud. I’m hoping managers will soon modify the volume. If not I will go back to the y.
