Chef Yu

This place was so disappointing! We got a flyer on the door yesterday, so tried it today, don’t bother! Our first clue to run screaming from the place was right as we walked in — no customers, & it was hot, hot, hot in the building. We were told the a/​c was too small. I’d say non-​existent would be more accurate. The restroom smelled so bad, my 4 yr old yelled at the top of her lungs about how stinky it was, then she said «it’s dirty in here» & she was right. The food wasn’t good either, a total waste of money.

My door Has a no soliciting sign and they still trespassed on private property leaving their flyers. Can they not read ! Maybe if they had someone that reads english they would know they can get fined by the city !

They left a flyer on the door of my residence when I have a clear «No Solicitation» sign.

Have never been in the place but maybe ignorant is bliss. I ordered hot and sour soup and both steamed and fried dumplings. Dumplings are obviously homemade and were very good and the hot and sour soup was really good. These are my two favorite things and I was not disappointed.
They said it would be 30 minutes for delivery and it was much quicker.

I walked in here with the intention of ordering some food. It was so hot in there. like humid hot and it smelled like rotten cabbage and spoiled boiled eggs. I’m not even exaggerating it was so gross! They had booths and tables set up… who would actually eat in there? Anyway there were 2 guys behind the counter cooking and they told me they would be with me in a moment. I used that opportunity to go to the restroom.
They had PUBLIC bathrooms for people to use. I walked in and got an immediate sensation to throw up! This bathroom had to be one of the most disgusting things I have seen in my life! There was a 6 inch thick black ring of molds around the base of the toilet and the floor looked like it had never seen a mop. I didn’t even use the restroom! I literally ran out of that place so fast. I needed fresh air!
How can they get away with this? Between the high temps in the building and the level of humidity in there. its like a bacteria and mold growing playground. But answer me this. If they allow the restrooms to look like this… how do u think the food prep, storage, and cooking area looks? Customers can’t see that part.
A health inspector needs to pay them a visit. I can guarantee you they would get shut down! If u ever find yourself driving down Harwood stop in and take a look for yourself. Its at Harwood and Brown Trail In front of subway. Walk in, open the door to the girls bathroom, and come back on Unilocal and tell me how u feel.

DO NOT EVER ORDER FOOD FROM SZECHUAN STAR/​CHEF YU. i had to cancel an order due to a family emergency yesterday and they still charged me for it. when i called to get a refund i was yelled at and told i wasted his food. when i said «excuse me?» he just started yelling louder. after listening to him yell for about a minute or two i finally hung up the phone. if this is the way people like them do business they dont deserve my money. theyve got another thing coming if they think theyre gonna take my money for food i never received. not to mention the building that they conduct business in is dirty, and falling apart. furthermore if you look under their secondary name szechuan star you will find TONS of bad reviews. in other words they changed their business name thinking it would untarnish their image.

Just moved in the area and got this menu on my door about two days later. Asian food is comfort food for me, so I ordered chicken lo mein, teriyaki chicken, and crab rangoon.
It was all so delicious! The noodles were a good portion, the crab rangoon was extra cheesy and the teriyaki chicken was so moist and OM NOM. Cannot wait to order from them from now on. The time for delivery was decent too :]

Most chinese delivery can be hit or miss. Since I’ve lived here I’ve had limited success in finding a good chinese delivery place and decided I’d go ahead and try one more since they put a coupon on my door. What a pleasant surprise!

The egg drop soup is delicious and the wonton soup my boyfriend ordered because it came with the coupon we had disappeared quickly (which means it must have been good!!) The absolute best thing we got were the potstickers which were absolutely to die for — and I’m a girl who knows her dumplings! Orange chicken is outstanding and the Kong Pao Shrimp was spicy and extremely tasty. Egg rolls are average but overall the food is OUTSTANDING! Delivery was quick and prices are reasonable and the very large portions mean you get lunch the next day too. :-)
