Stopped here on a roadtrip across the PA turnpike — Hoss’s was too busy off the exit. This place is great IF you are looking to take the time machine back to 1974. Feels like a 70’s lounge, looks like a 70’s restaurant(including waitresses working there since the 70’s…please buy them new outfits), and food was from a diner/cafeteria of yesteryear. The clientele were also oblivious to the fact our kids were at the next table with their mouths that, well, reminded me of the way things were… you get the point. Staff was very nice! Prices were great. Just not what we were expecting. I’m guessing folks 60+ would like this place a lot more than 30 somethings.

they helped put me through college. When i was there, we had the best crab legs on Friday night in the area. I remember talking to people from Cumberland that would come up to Bedford just for the Seafood Buffet. The wings were also usually the best in town.

Clara’s place is a locally owned restaurant inside of a Best Western Inn that features a large bar, two large dining rooms and patio seating. The food is down home cooking with friendly service that leaves you all warm and cozy inside. They offer three buffets as well as a full service menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Open to the public the breakfast buffet comes free with any overnight stay and features over twenty five items to fill your belly for your morning adventures. Yogurts, hot and cold cereals, granola’s, melons, strawberries, cottage cheese, juice, milk, breakfast meats of bacon and sausages, egg dishes, waffles, french toast and potatoes are all set up in an open area joining the two dining rooms. The prices are very reasonable for the public and guests are treated royally with this free breakfast buffet offering. The Friday night buffet is of seafood which has an all you can eat spread of crab legs, cold or hot pick and peel shrimp, broiled fish, plenty of side dishes, a salad and dessert bar and plenty for those who are not into seafood. I have dined at the breakfast and seafood buffet plenty of times, but I have not tried the Sunday buffet. Their regular menu features appetizers, soups, salads and American fare, they are known for their steaks and burgers which makes sense since you are in Black Angus territory where ever you dine in Bedford. I have dined at Clara’s Place countless times and I will again knowing good times, good food and good service will await me.
