Wanda came to my home on Sunday morning to do a «Deep Clean». She and 2 helpers started downstairs and cleaned things that have not been cleaned in years. They moved furniture, got on step stools, cleaned blinds, ceiling fans, etc. She gave me a bid of $ 225.00 for my 3000 square foot home to deep clean: floors, baseboards, toilets, tubs and windows. Shortly after she arrived she advised she would need more money to dust because I had more stuff than she anticipated. I had no problem at all and ended up paying $ 75.00 more. I made her aware that they were going to have to work around me because I was cleaning out drawers, pantries, closets, etc… all those spots that collect way too much stuff and we get sidetracked for hours. When they were ready to move upstairs, I told them to ignore my dormer area that had a lot of frames and stuff stacked up from my upstairs being painted as well as the large dormer area that has multiple shelves in it with too many cords to attempt to move. The 3 of them were upstairs less than an hour, but it is only 1100 square feet so it seemed possible. They came downstairs and she asked if I was happy with everything. I will accept accountability that I should have gone upstairs and looked. Typical human nature, does not want to «offend» someone, so I based my answer on the wonderful job they did in my kitchen and living room. That evening, I noticed my bathtub was not cleaned, only stuff sprayed at the bottom. I later noticed that a shelve in the downstairs bedroom was not dusted. I work full time, so the following morning I went to work and got back home after 7:00. That evening I noticed more things were neglected and began looking and taking pictures of the entire upstairs, showing literally NONE of the baseboards were cleaned, the bathroom was filthy, behind easy to move items, there were large dust bunnies, pens, and misc. junk that falls behind things or under things that confirmed the only part of the floors Wanda cleaned were parts she could reach without making even the smallest effort to move things my 13 year old daughter could move effortlessly. I took pictures, texted Wanda and stated there must have been some confusion amongst the 3 of them as to who was going to do what so she would have a way of saving face for the poor job done. I just wanted her to send someone else out and do what they were paid to do. She called me back and said, «I asked you if you were happy with everything before I left.» She completely ignored the 30 pictures I sent her showing all of the filth that remained in her«Deep Clean» service. I did not want to argue with her I just wanted her to make it right. She confirmed she was not willing to come back to my house because«I can not be satisfied». She offered to refund me $ 50.00 which leaves me paying more than her original estimate, since she ended up with a total of $ 300.00 cash when she left. I am not an unreasonable person. The fair thing to do was for them to come back and do the job she was hired to do. Me making the mistake of not going upstairs to make sure it was done in the same manner as it was downstairs before she left does not negate the fact that she did not do what she was paid to do. Bottom line. Don’t let her sweet nature fool you. Check her work before you pay her. She is not as sweet natured after the fact. The offer of $ 50.00 does not compensate for the job not done, which is all I wanted.
