New owners and new twists on Virginia’s best wine styles! All the grapes are grown on the property and time and effort are put into each wine to make the most of the qualities of the fruit.
For newbies to the wine world there are also some fun «bota bags» that you freeze and make a «slushy» type drink which would be perfect on a picnic or other hot summer day activities.
Maybe the best surprise was the beer! They brew 4 styles on the property, an amber, cream ale, porter and Belgium style IPA. All were outstanding!
The grounds are extensive and there is lots of room to relax and spend some time both indoors and out. You’ll be glad you did!

First winery visited in Virginia. Nice Wines. They also started a brewery in March, good beer. Grounds are well kept and pleasant so view.
They also host Dog Dock Jumping in the pond they have, I would like to see this event!

This was a quaint winery, the owner did our tasting, and was very friendly, he has his heart into the wine making… The vineyards are beautiful, and are making it a place to go It is a bit difficult to find, but well worth it Thankful for the GPS, it has saved my marriage twice fold. (I don’t do maps well). We bought the Pinot Grigio which was hand pressed, so this will be a one of a kind in our collection,
I loved the atmosphere, and the owner was wonderful. The wines are good… It is worth the drive.

Reston, VA
Another winner on the Bedford Wine Trail (between Roanoke and Lynchburg, near Smith Mountain Lake). The tasting room and sitting area is inside a large mountain home, and the owners are completely attentive and appreciative. Finding this spot is tough – similiar to other SW Virginia wineries, so have a good map. As is the case with other remote Virginia wineries, the prices are fantastic. The merlot and chambourcin are wonderful. True southern hospitality and a friendly Siamese cat to keep you company. If you visit Smith Mountain Lake, you must check this winery out.
