Don’t know what to think anymore. This club/restaurant can’t decide what it wants to be; dive bar, culinary hotspot, subs and sandwiches, on and on. The menu keeps changing and is now back to fryer and flat-top cooking. No more crab legs, steak, etc. They should survey the members regarding what they would like.

While in the U.S. Coast Guard stationed outside Philadelphia I spent«Liberty» hours enjoying the«Philly“cuisine! ! The best«Hoggies«and«Cheese – steak» sandwiches you could stuff down were found in and around Philadelphia,. But, I have to admit the visit we made today to «The Iron Horse» in Aiken exceeded my expectations. If you haven’t sampled their menu yet you are in for a real treat. And, the place is unique. Out of the way, yet worth the drive. The staff is friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable regarding the menu items. Over-all a great place to spend time with friends, including Fido on the patio!

I moved away from Aiken and can’t find any place that even comes close to Iron Horse. You get so much and the greatest food plus the specials are delicious. I was very comfortable being there by myself. I really miss the Iron Horse!!!

Best restaurant, yes restaurant not just a bar, in the Aiken area. It is a private club but annual membership is only $ 15 and $ 20 for a couple. Great seafood, steaks and a menu varied enough to keep me coming back regularly. Best burger in town too. Specials are a common occurrence, we had fresh giant lobster claws with home made potato salad and cole slaw today. We eat out often in Aiken and Augusta but the«Horse» is our favorite.

I am a regular at the Iron Horse and have been for 5 years. They have always served great food and use just as good if not better quality ingredients than anywhere else in the Aiken/Augusta area. They served giant lobster claws with a house made remoulade last night that were absolutely to die for. They have really outdone themselves and continue to push for quality, consistency, and the enjoyment of their customers. If you are in the area, or if even if you are not, it is definitely worth the trip!

We arrived here on a Friday night to meet friends who were thankfully already members and were waiting inside for us to arrive. Waitress was accomodating at first until we ordered and one of our party asked for an order to go to take to her husband… NOPE. We thought she was kidding… NOPE, no to-go orders. Not even when five other people at the table were ordering. Odd policy. At any rate, when we got our food it was sub-par and they also ran out of wine. The waitress was very apologetic and it didn’t help matters any that the owner sat at the bar and talked crap about us the entire time we were there, especially after the whole ‘no to-go orders’ debaucle. Won’t be back.

what a GEM… We moved to the aiken area a little over a year ago. We have been disappointed in restaurants over and over as we tried to find a «favorite niche»;. We have found it now. A private club, pfft… not to worry, pay the 15 bucks and be happy about that choice… We have tried their steaks, prime rib, burgers and not once have we left with anything but happy faces. accommodating staff, great bartenders. Casual and comfy not pretentious. We have gone on Friday, saturday nights, and usually stop by after a round of golf on Sunday for a burger and not once have we been disappointed. We have now found«OUR» perfect place!

This is a «Private» club/bar-restaurant. Single membership is $ 15& $ 20 for a couple(Includes a free app voucher). The food is fresh and is delicious. I had the prime-rib sub(~$ 10) and the fried shrimp nachos(~$ 7) as an app. It took some time to get the food but I was part of a larger party so with that in mind, and the food being fresh it didn’t affect my review. They have a large menu and a full service bar that offers anything from bottle to draught beer(3 on tap at a time) to cosmos & other liqueurs. We had the on tap beer at $ 3.00 each which was wallet friendly. They also offer several cuts of steak and seafood(crab legs etc.). The nicer cuts meat run ~$ 21. Burgers ~$ 7 – 10 depending on what you want. They offer several varieties. There is karaōke on Fri & Sat night. Food specials are offered throughout the week as well. Highly recommend this place. It wouldn’t surprise me if you see it on Food Networks Diners Drive-In, & Dives. Give it a try!
