Ok craft beer selection, the bartender is a underage teen girl. Immature and rude staff. Unwelcoming. Employees smoking in front of customers. BBQ is very fatty. Wings are just OK; plain with different dipping sauce options. Not fine dining by any means. Let me reiterate very slow, expect a 45 minute wait for a hotdog even if there are no other customers. Not famous and not fast.

Food was decent, had cheeseburgers and fries but they were nothing to rave about. Had ordered onion rings but got the wrong order. The service was very bad, our waitress checked on us once. Some teen girl came out and dropped our food on the table, knocking my husbands burger bun off his plate and then slumped off. Definitely will not return.

I will keep it short and simple. Bad service. Unfriendly/rude waitstaff. Long waits. Food was eatable at best. The excuse for everything was that they were«slammed»(they had 10 tables sat) while we were there we saw one table get up and leave and several others complain, and one table was told they could not order for 45 minutes due to the kitchen being«backed up» by this time there were 3 tables in restaurant. This restaurant is in desperate need new staff and proper training in the front and back of the house.

This is not fast. It took over an hour and the food was just so-so. Eddie does seem like a really good guy, but he needs more servers and people in the kitchen.

Never will walk again. 1 minute after walking in owners daughter stated to us that we could sit down if we wanted but she could not promise that we could order food for at least 45 minutes. Understanding it is a holiday week at a ski resort we said that was fine as long as we could eat after 45 minutes. That question upset her as well. Apparently she thought it was okay to have people sit in their restaurant and have drinks for 45 minutes at 9pm with no guarantee of food. Well we sat and waited for at least 15 minutes as she walked by and said hello to her friends. Restaurant looked empty so after she walked by 4 times without even looking our way I politely asked if it was okay to order drinks? That immediately set her off and she proceeded to tell at me and my party of 9 that she had just say that she was tired of customers yelling at her and we should just deal with it and then stomped off throwing silverware and saying she was done with people. 1 minute later another waitress came out to take a drink order and when I told her no thank you we are leaving because we did not want to get yelled at she said I’m sorry there is no manager she is the owners daughter. As we were walking out the waitress said goodbye and good riddance. Amazing they are still open. I guess they didn’t think if they opened a restaurant 50ft from the driveway of a major restaurant they would get slammed on Christmas week ???

My husband and I wanted to see what Beech Mountain was all about and unfortunately we went on a very cloudy, foggy day. We are not familiar with the area, so we weren’t sure what to expect. We really saw absolutely nothing but homes and the occasional Inn or restaurant. We went on a Sunday and nothing was open, except Fast Eddie’s. We were the ONLY people in the restaurant, maybe because it was just noon on a Sunday or maybe it was the bad weather. Eddie greeted us when we came in, turn on the fire place for us and gave us the remote to the TV. He said he wants his customers to feel at home and we did! he brought us out some hot chocolate and it was probably the best hot chocolate I“ve had… I don’t know what kind it was but it was soooo good. I had a grilled cheese and my husband had some horrible hot dog wrapped in bacon and stuffed with cheese… he LOVED it. Our food came out so fast! It was a fun place to eat lunch and I’m sure it’s packed on a Friday or Saturday night.

How was the food? No idea, never got our food. How was the service? Well, when we did see someone, they would tell us our order was almost ready. Was it? No. They told us multiple times the food was almost ready. They serve hot dogs and chili. It shouldn’t take an hour to make something that easy. So, in the style of the immortal Linda Richmond, «Famous Fast Eddies. Neither famous nor fast. Discuss.»

Quick Review — fantastic location on the mountain and awesome food but the service is severely lacking(either a hit or complete miss). We come to Beech Mountain every couple of weeks and came to love Fast Eddie’s during our house hunting. The brisket, pastrami and turkey pastrami is absolutely the best and they always have a good beer selection on tap. The location is prime for the area as you can drop by to or from the slopes or place a to-go order. The problem is the service. We’ve been to Fast Eddie’s a lot but I can’t say we’ve eaten there a lot because we’ve walked out a total of 3 times now because nobody ever waited on us with the latest instance being just last night. We mentioned the issue to Eddie before who acknowledged staffing is an issue but he doesn’t appear to have fixed it(and that’s bad because it good be the best spot in town). We love the food and Eddie seems to be a great guy but the bad service always makes it difficult for us to return.

We were excited to see the Boars Head(quality meat) sign at the store that is located next to the restaurant(same owner I believe). It was about an hour before close and we were the only people in the restaurant. We snagged the table next to the fire place and were thankful to warm up. Their menu appears fairly decent, I personally was excited when I saw the beef brisket options. I went with the BBQ brisket sandwich, BIG mistake. The meat was so fatty, about 1⁄3(or more) of my sandwich was fat. I opted to eat only my fries, which were mediocre but I was hungry. The waitress picked up my plate and asked if I wanted a box. She didn’t even acknowledge that there was only one bite out of the sandwich. My friends weren’t impressed by their food either, as soon as we got in the car everyone expressed their disgust. If you find yourself here, stick with the cheese filled bread sticks they were the only decent thing we had(warning they are quite greasy). Avoid the food here if you can.

My hubby and I had lunch here yesterday and it was awesome. We started with a basket of homemade chips, which were hot and crisp. I had the italian beef and my hubby had the chicago style hotdog, we both had a cup of chili. The food was authentic chicago style(I am from chicago), and delicious! The waitress was friendly and attentive, with lots of recommendations on the food and beer. We are only here for two more days, and I am going to make sure that we eat there again at least once before we leave. I almost forgot to mention, the prices are fantastic, too

Fantastic, and from what I can tell(I’m a life-long southerner) authentic Chicago-style hot dogs, Polishes, Italians, and Italian beef. The dogs, and perhaps all the meats, are Vienna brand – same as you’d get in Chicago. I went twice during our week up here – Chicago dog«dragged through the garden,» with bright green relish, mustard, little hot peppers(spike? peppers, tomato(I think he used some Cherokee hybrids), pickle spear and celery salt. Perfect both times. And the kicker? $ 3, in a resort town where a large and only OK pizza is $ 20. Today I had a half Italian beef(also $ 3) which was fine – I’ve only had I-beef once before on a trip to Chicago and it will never be my go-to sammich, but this was good – I’d add grilled onions next time. Wife had Polish both time, both with grilled onions(a steal at $ 4) and each time we had the fresh-fried chips with ranch($ 2.50) which we fought over. Good beer selection(high-grav Bellringer for my son, $ 5; wife had Blowing Rock Ale, local, very good, $ 4), and I had iced tea, which was just passable, but I’m picky. If I went back I’d be all over the brisket over grilled red potatoes($ 7.99 whole, half portions available, I think) but that just looked like too much for lunch. There are a few other good looking items(fish/chips, other sandwiches, and breakfast) but this is a Chicago dog and fresh chips experience first and foremost. They have awesome-looking desserts(mini rum cakes, banana pudding squares) but I didn’t try any. The place is not fancy, and while it is never hot in Beech Mountain(100 degrees back home in SC; 80 degrees up here) the room can get a little warm in the heat of the summer. A couple of outdoor tables, too. Fine dining? Nah. Awesome food. Heckz yes.
