Absolutely fantastic member– owned grocery store! The local organic produce selection is amazing. Many wonderful local farms’ goods are available throughout the store, there’s a great full service butcher, bulk everything, and you can also get anything else you may need in the kitchen. Staff members are so friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. They also offer a wide array of community programs, like great lectures at the library. This place is a hub of such a great community — you can’t go here and not see friends happily running into each other. So nice! Everything at the deli is great too. Three cheers for build your own sandwiches with actual good ingredients!

Went in a few times looking specifically for local wines, but they did not have a good selection.

Great Organic store, fresh produce, bulk grains, beans, nuts, groceries and wine. Plus a small café.

There is an okay selection available, but everything is incredibly overpriced. I mean, it’s nice and all, but it’s really not worth it because of how much money that everything costs there. And it’s a shame, because it’s a cute little grocery store, too!

Great organic food at a reasonable price, fresh made sausages every Tuesday and Thursday is a good snag when bought near those days. Breakfast sandwich and coffee deal is also a steal.

This place is ok. Not exceptional for produce and pretty pricey at that. The staff was pretty helpful and the wine and seafood selection is decent. Don’t go with big expectations though.

Such a great place! Co-ops are the best, this little one completely delivers. Prices are decent and quality of everything is wonderful. And plenty of options to support local farms

This was my first visit and really impressed with the selections. We were out looking for Maine blueberry and found the perfect spot for it. we ended buying few more items. I wish i live close to a store like this.

The Co-Op is one of those things I had to leave behind to fully appreciate. Who woulda thought I was so spoiled and didn’t even know it? Pretty good fresh produce section, but a great selection of frozen and pre-packaged goods, bulk ingredients, yummy craft beer selection, organic/off-beat wines at great prices, and prepared food that puts most markets to shame. Not as big a toiletry selection as one might hope, but still better than what you’ll find anywhere else in the area. I don’t think this place has off-days, and it can be a challenge to find parking. The Co-Op is most assuredly a Belfast mainstay, a fact aided by its cozy little dining/meeting place that makes you feel like part of one big happy family. Prices are pretty good, and even better if you have a membership. Try to pay with cash if you can, as they obviously suffer from high processing fees and have a minimum debit/credit purchase. I’ve never had a problem with the service here, then again, I’m originally from the area and am usually with or meet someone else I know here.

I wish I lived closer! What a great selection of all natural and organic foods, toiletries and home products. There was also a large selection of beer and wine as well as tons of bulk grains and spices. If you need a few items while in Belfast, it’s definitely worth a look.

The Belfast Co-op is my go to place for locally produced food and fresh bulk spices. Forget purchasing stale, overpriced bottled spices at the grocery store! At the Co-op you can buy better, fresh spices at a fraction of the price. You can either put the spices into one of their bags, or there are containers to buy to place them in. In addition to spices, the Co-op has a great selection of local food. My favorite thing to buy is the Monroe made Stone Fox ice cream. The ginger flavor is to die for! I also visit the Co-op for beer, wine and cheese. They definitely have the best selection of gourmet type items in the area!

I love the co-op! The variety of organic food, vitamins and snacks is great. The deli inside has delicious lunch options and a cozy atmosphere. Prices are a bit high but that’s how it is with any organic store I have been in. I am a regular customer.

I love the Co-op! I’ve been visiting Belfast almost once a year since I was an infant and I can not remember a summer where we didn’t visit the Co-op at least once. I really wish we had a place that was this awesome in Jersey. As another reviewer noted, the place has to be a left over from the sixties, complete with barefoot, dreadlocked hippies. Nothing against them, they complete the ambiance. I love the bulk bins. Whenever I hear of some new herb, grain or anything natural, I know they will have it at the Belfast Co-op. It’s where I first bought Quinoa and agave nectar. It’s what Trader Joes tries to emulate.

Fantastic place for us out-of-towners looking for healthy snacks and natural foods/drinks. My son can’t have artificial colors so this was a great place to pick up things to eat in the hotel room and as we drove around. The prepared foods were great, the coffee very good, the selection small but diverse, the wines looked wonderful. We stopped in at least three times during our 5 days there. I liked it so much it made me want to move to Belfast.(Not that I will, but I liked it that much.)

Haven’t had a chance to try the grocery section of the Co-op yet, but I did stop in for a mid-morning snack and coffee at the deli. The vegan banana bread and coffee were excellent, but it was the coconut macaroons that I wanted to take home and marry!

If only! This is the last of its kind, I think, left over from the hippy sixties when people and food were honest. Open the jar of red bell pepper flakes(not the hot kind — are you listening? I said BELL peppers) and the fragrance will make you want to tape some under your nose for permanent. On Tuesdays they make sausage. Sound simple? These sausages are made with such lean meat that you do not grill them(they’d turn to cinders over that high heat) but instead bake them in a 350 oven for 30 minutes, turning once. Parboil yourself some just-dug potatoes, spritz a little olive oil in the pan, pop in the potatoes and sausage, sprinkle with lots of that red pepper, and, as my 17-year-old foodie grandson said, this is the first exceptional meal I ever had that’s EASY. They make many kinds, but if you can get the garlic-and-Guinness or the Hungarian hot, you’ll have yourself air-lifted to Belfast once a week for more Promise.
