Best bar snack EVER! Especially if you’re Paleo! What?! BACON? Heehee, I’m the worst kind of tease! No, not bacon, but what goes great with bacon? EGGS! Yes, hard boiled eggs at the bar in a bowl. How much fun is it peeling eggs at the bar, squeezing out a little siracha, and chowing down. Seriously entertaining. They serve house brewed(Marshall’s Wharf brews-out back) beers and killer martinis. I’m an extreme dirty fan and the martini glass is a healthy size! Friendly bar-you can always meet who is next to you and there is outdoor deck seating overlooking wharf and Penobscot River. Doesn’t it sound perfect?! It’s close. The other food is solid, not SOLID! Hummus platter very good too. Tough part– it’s hard to tell how busy it’ll be and seating can be gone. It’s a smallish place and not great for standing room only. Good part– near couple of bars all within steps from 3 Tides. Great for walking around-footpath takes you to the boatyard/marina. Fun to check out the boats. I’ll drive the 35 mins. for the secret getaway feel…

Great oysters, atmosphere, and view; good beer. I think the rest of the menu is wanting, though. Still, it’s a must-come-to in Belfast for a happy hour or light dinner of oysters and wine/beer.

We went for beer and a snack and enjoyed it. It was September and the weather was chilly but we enjoyed the big outdoor woodstove and view of the harbor. We first went inside and were told the tables were reserved for dinner guests and the bar was full. It was only 5pm and we just wanted a beer and a nosh. The bar tender was surly but other staff was quite friendly. We couldn’t get a beer flight outside which was a bummer, and the food options were very limited. But we enjoyed the beers we had and the atmosphere.

Located next door to Marshall Wharf Brewery, this is a must visit in Belfast Maine. But be sure you don’t go on a Monday, because Three tides and the brewery are closed– bummer! I wasn’t particularly hungry at the time so I didn’t order food but a few of my friends did. The menu is basically tapas– hummus, salads, mushrooms, cheese sticks, soup, sandwiches, etc. One of my friends had the nachos and the other had the French onion soup and they both enjoyed their food. My favorite part of this visit was the beer flight– 5 samples for a great price. I had the 46 cream, Tug pale, Little toot, mashing pumpkin, and my favorite big twitch ipa. The décor inside is warm with tons of cool lighting and there are several levels of seating outside.

Excellent place for some Cold-filtered Beers, great place to watch the harbor and boats as well… The overall view of the downstairs area reminds me of a Texas hangout in those days called Skippys Mistake… Couch/Sofa, church like bench seating with a little firepit adding just enough ambiance to the scenery. Its a fun place to hear some tunes or taste test some brews or just chill baby…

I am a beer lover, so right off the bat, I have to say I am partial to this restaurant. Three Tides serves Marshall Wharf on tap, being connected to the brewery down below, and I review this as a restaurant and not based on that fact. With that being said, Marshall Wharf beer is an exceptional brewery in the state of Maine, and their stouts and porters are my favorites, with deep rich flavors. My wife loves their cocktails, and recommends them. The atmosphere is a nice, warm, and cozy with an eclectic flair. The outdoor seating is great on summer nights, and the lampshade lighting strung across the canopy sets the mood. If you are looking for a place for drinks and beer with great atmosphere, then this is your place. We have been there twice, and both times service seemed prompt. I must admit, both nights the restaurant was not packed, so I don’t know how it would be on a crazy night. The waitstaff knows their beer, and makes good recommendations. The food is good. I enjoy that there is a tapas menu to share with friends, and then there is another with entrees. I hate to be tepid about the food, but I cannot say it was exceptional. I like the dishes I have had here. The baked mozzarella is just that, baked cheese, I guess I preferred deep fried. The quesadillas are great, and the flavors are perfect. I like the restaurant. The atmosphere is great and warm. The drinks and beer is phenomenal. The food is good.

Enjoyed a beer flight and a nosh on the deck. Super friendly staff. Great view. Kind of bummed they allow smoking, but it was breezy enough to blow it away and we could still enjoy our visit. Local brews were very good.

This place rocks! One of the coolest joints I’ve been to and I frequent the Three Tides often as I have family who lives in Belfast. You get captured by the ambiance which has this close-knit, comfortable feel to it with the deck overlooking the bay. The food is delicious and if you like beer, you can’t and won’t go wrong. They set up is awesome with a funky, curvy bar and a lower deck with seating and music. The staff is great, friendly and hardworking. And if your visiting Belfast during the day, stop by the Marshall Wharf brewery and pick yourself up a t-shirt or a shot glass. Cheers!

Great place to stop while in Belfast, ME. Good food, great beer(especially their hefewiezen). The night we were there they were showing Jaws on their big outdoor screen. Perfect way to end my night in Belfast.

I vacation in Belfast at least once a year; since its inception, Three Tides has been one of the«must do» highlights of the trip. This place will not be everybody’s ‘cup of tea’. It is very Maine, very hip, fun, and has great — unique food. The beer is from the brewery next door and is very good with a huge variety and selection. If you walk up to the entrance and don’t ‘get it’ it may not be for you. But if you are a bit adventurous and like trying different foods and experiences, give Three Tides a try. Stay for the fire in the big chiminea.

Awful service awful food — beautiful scenery but don’t go if you are hungry or thirsty. The beer is ok but the service is so slow I was only served one beer in a 3!!! hour setting. Don’t go.

If you enjoy craft beer Three Tides is worth checking out in you’re in the Midcoast area. During the warmer months Three Tides is one of my favorite places to go to eat outside and enjoy beer and oysters. The restaurant/bar has a lovely deck overlooking the bay. If you just want to drink, they offer a cute seating area below the restaurant complete with a fire pit. I find the service to be generally good. When I go, I’m on vacation, am not in a hurry, so I don’t mind if the waitress/waiter is a little slow. However, some customers might find the service to be a bit on the slow side. I was kind of bummed on my recent visit that they didn’t have oysters. It’s okay though because it means they are fresh and only get them when they’re in season. If you visit Belfast during the day you can visit the brewery, Marshall Wharf, before 4 pm and grab a growler of your favorite brew. I will definitely return soon!

This place is a really fun stop. I love the bar scene below the upper deck. The beer is delicious because it is Marshalls Warf beer. The food is okay here, but that is not why you come. Visit for the beer, the oysters, and the great lower bar. I love coming here every summer.

This place is so good that I hesitate reviewing it for fear of it becoming too popular. Marshalls Wharf has some of the best and most unique beers to sample in Maine, and the adjacent Three Tides(which I guess is the same business and has all the MW beers on tap) is the perfect place to hang out and sip them in a ridiculously quintessential Maine setting. The outdoor patio is a masterpiece, especially the fire pit which kept me and my lady friend warm in the chilly fall air. Absolutely perfect. Oh and shout out to the free bar snacks(hard boiled eggs with sriracha!)

Great atmosphere and location. A word to the wise– this establishment is licensed as a bar, which means all patrons must have valid ID(or be with parent) to be there. We, a 7 top of 25 – 35 year olds, were just turned away after settling in because one person in the party(who was not drinking) did not have ID. Bummer.

Still love this place despite the flaws. Was lucky enough to get a table inside on a summer Saturday night. This after spending eight hours on the road fighting weekend traffic out of Boston. Was kind of disappointed to notice that there was always at least a couple empty tables out on the deck throughout our stay, despite the staff’s insistence that it was«full». Full of the yachting set, it appeared — most of whom weren’t even drinking the adjoining brewery’s excellent beer, either. Whatever… Mitigating factors include the presence of Sea Belt Ale(brewed with kelp!) and the incredible nitro 45 Cream(at 9% abv!). None of which we would’ve known about if it weren’t for the recommendations of the awesome prep-cook Don(sup, bro!).

The three stars is strictly for the ambiance and the stunning view of the Belfast harbor from the upper deck. I’ve been frequenting this place since it opened(as a summer visitor), and the service is always stale, catty and rude. My most recent visit, I watched our waitress serve three other customers that sat long after us– which, in her defense, was probably an honest mistake, but really c’mon. I work in the service industry and can honestly say it’s not hard to stay aware of your surroundings. It’s your flipping job! The food is meh, not worth the 40 minute wait that is almost alwaaays the case here. Beer selection is always a positive, but it seems year after year they have had the saaaaame old specialty martini menu. Change it up! As a bartender who loves to cater to the ever changing shift in the demands of my clientele, there’s nothing my customers love more than a new cocktail menu to cater to each season. To sum it up, come here with a group of friends/family to enjoy each others good company and distract yourself from the fact that it’s going to take forever to a) get service and b) get your food. Prepare to stay awhile.

This place is awesome. I really dig the outdoor«patio». It’s like having drinks in your friends yard complete with bocci and a wood stove. Some may complain about the smokey smell from the pine brush that they burn but I say get over yourself. Beers are always great and change often. Try the Tough Kat IPA if it’s there. Also don’t forget to grab some oysters on the half shell and help add to their shell pile. Seriously it’s like 8 feet tall. If the bugs and the smoke really bother you head upstairs to the indoor bar where they have some nice mixed drinks and a very laid back atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back tonight!

If you are only interested in a drink and lovely outdoor atmosphere, this is hands down the place to be in Belfast. Never ate here so can’t speak for the food but the amount of delicious beer on tap should make up for just about any other shortcoming. Maybe I love beer.
