Say cheese

I am so, so glad that I live no where near this place. If I did, I would stop in daily and gorge myself on ridiculously delicious dairy products. Talk about best grilled cheese ever!
My husband and I were driving back down from Door County and made a pit stop in Belgium. Say Cheese is attached to a gas station and honestly looked like a sad little place but don’t let that fool you. They have a huge variety of cheeses and meats that are reasonably priced. We got a block of sharp cheddar with dill, a block of muenster, some summer sausage and some buffalo sausage for a friend. All great in and of their own rights but we also ordered two grilled cheeses to go and that was probably the best decision we could have made.
We got the cheddar which was perfectly toasted and fresh off of the panini press. But the havarti grilled cheese stole my heart. Creamy and gooey and everything a good grilled cheese should be.
The owner made the sandwiches in front of us and was personable. I liked that he told us that it was a waste to pay for any cheese over 5 years because the taste doesn’t improve and people tend to jack up the price. He seemed to know his stuff which I always appreciate.
Whenever we get back up to Wisconsin we will definitely make it a point to stop back in!

Huge selection of good old Wisconsin Cheese. I was quite surprised that a small town like Belgium Wisconsin has such a place. I had to get gas and just stopped on a whim and glad I did. Very friendly and helpful staff. Glad I decided to stop. As I am a real cheese lover.
