Best ceviche in This side of town! Not a big fan of sea food but I love their fish ceviche. And my friends say the rest of menu is delicious!

*****ENGLISH***** I ordered the Shrimp and Octopus cocktail and it was divine! I loved the consistency and flavor of both the shrimp and octopus. The cocktail juice was perfect with one whole lime, in my opinion. Also, I added a quarter of an avacado to the cocktail. This made the cocktail feel a little cooler since it is served hot. Additionally, I would like to point out that I am not a fan of fish, but I still give the fish ceviche a try. It was perfectly cooked in lime for so long that there was no taste of fish. I appreciated that and admit that it has open my palette to subtle fish-flavored dishes. I would highly recommend either of these two and will be coming back soon to try out more of what they have to offer.

I came in here because I saw the picture of the classic fish ceviche. It looks awesome! So I went in and ordered it. I asked the guy behind the counter some questions about the menu and he just pointed at the menu board. He seemed bothered that I was talking to him. I asked a second question and again he just pointed at the menu board. I guess that he just doesn’t like talking to people. I got my order which was the fish ceviche and it was ok. Nothing special. I have had better at grocery stores. I would have been willing to come back and try other menu items but thanks to that guy behind the counter, I’d rather not.

I’ve been coming here with my Dad since I was a little girl & Julio Cesar Chavez used to train next door at the Azteca Boxing Club, we’d always sneak a peek at his workouts after lunch. We don’t come here as often as we did before but nonetheless it’s still our favorite ceviche spot. I’ve never had such flavorful fish in my life! Over the years this place has gained more & more recognition thanks to foodie sites like Unilocal however that means longer lines & limited seating. If you plan to dine in & you have a party of 4 or more be prepared to share two or three tables if you’re lucky to find any available. The tables are picnic style & a little constricted but that small detail fades away once the food arrives. I tried the mixed ceviche for the first time & it was delicious, another favorite is the shrimp cocktail & the classic fish ceviche is to die for. Squeeze some lime & sprinkle some Tapatío & dig in(can’t forget the crisp tostadas & the Mexican Coca-Cola) This place believes in the less is more concept when preparing food however the portions are the perfect size. Prices are reasonable. Already planning our next visit.

I believe in affordability in the neighborhood. The fish ceviche was cool not a five star though. I was going to look for a three star review but I thought the quick service was worth it.

Ceviche was really good. Not really as much lemon flavor or heat as I would like, but the fish was really flavorful. I ordered the aguachile, but they were out. But the guy gave me complimentary aguachile sauce to put on my ceviche(really good). Overall everything was great. Only took a star off because all of their drinks come bottles or canned. Even the water

Wow wow ! What is this place doing in a back alley in Bell. You boys need to get your self exposed. Buy a food truck and I’m sure that you every corner of LA would want you to sell tacos and agua chilè to the people. I truly enjoyed every bite of what I ordered. Man, it can’t get any better than that. I spent $ 60 on my 1st visit, I wanted to get a taste of everything on that weekend menu. Again, WOW. No one in the area is doing what this family is doing. Give it a try guys, you won’t regret. Remember to call or come in on the weekend for the sea food tacos. And get them early. These boys know how to do it right; work hard — close early — relax !

I love this place! I’ve been dreaming about their shrimp tacos and am on my way there from the San Fernando Valley. My family’s been coming here since… Actually probably since before I was born. They have the BEST coctel de camaron and ceviche My tummy’s rumbling as I type… The establishment is small, it’s a hole in the wall kinda place and sometimes it gets packed, but the staff is great at knocking orders out quick and efficiently, also they’re really nice and welcoming. They also have their own chile bush… you can pick em right off and eat ‘em!

Here’s something that some people might not have noticed or failed to mention. The name! I initially thought this place was a rotisserie chicken place, the damn name of this place is so misleading. It’s easy to overlook, but don’t fall victim to this trickery. You’ll miss out on some mind blowing ceviche and delicious fish or shrimp tacos. I was lucky enough to arrive at a time when the restaurant still had some seating available. A few minutes after my arrival people just had to stand around while they waited for their stuff. But I noticed the staff has a system in place that gets people in and out of their quickly. Enough about the waiting and the seating though, let me tell you about this great ceviche and tacos they serve. When I first saw the pictures of the fish ceviche I asked myself — what the hell are all these people intrigued about? I’m used to the bright colored ceviche, as I’m sure plenty other people are as well. The genius of this ceviche is in its simplicity. The large chunks can be a little overwhelming at first glance, especially for anyone who is squeamish about certain foods. I myself had to look past the chunkiness, as I consciously went in for the first bite of a tostada. It was immediate gratification! They make simple ceviche but they do it well; it’s the perfect marination of fish and the addition of cilantro and onion is enough to complete it. The fish and shrimp tacos, or I should say only the fish tacos, were deliciously made and fried to the ideal crispness. Topped off with cabbage, diced tomato, and what I assume is a house-made sauce. The tortilla could have been better but that’s of least importance. I mentioned that only the fish tacos were good because I didn’t get to try a shrimp taco, although I ordered one. I guess they mistakenly gave me two fish tacos. I couldn’t tell until I was working on my second taco, but I did not feel compelled to state that my order was wrong. I felt satisfied to leave things as they were. El Pollero 95 is a must for those that live in the area, and maybe even for those willing to take a drive. Just be aware that they only serve fish and shrimps tacos on weekends and that it’s cash only. P. S. The tostadas make a difference, they are served warm and have a tortilla chip crunchiness to them; different from packaged tostadas. Kudos if they make them in house. Also, don’t be out of the loop like me and forget to order avocado for the ceviche. I noticed after I was done that people were topping their tostadas with pieces of avocado. I didn’t know you have to order it…

Love their fish ceviche. It’s not your typical fish ceviche with tons of the veggies(tomatoes, onion and cilantro) the fish is chopped in large chunks and it’s always firm but not hard. Their prices are on the lower end compared to other ceviche places. Their tostadas are always fresh and crispy too. Their customer service is great too. They close early on Sunday’s so make sure you check the time!

I’ve been coming here since 1996 and the consistency of the quality and freshness of their mariscos has been intact, it always reminds me of the first time I walked vin the door. Best seafood on the planet and I’ve been places staff is cool as heck!

If you are expecting El 7 Mares style ceviche and coctel this is not the place for you. Keep driving. There are plenty of other places that will give you a vegetable salad with a hint of seafood on your Guerrero packed tostadas. This is my GO-TO ceviche spot when I’m in town. I grew up in So. CA and knew restaurants from Oxnard to San Diego, this is still one of my MUSTEAT places before I head home. My order for the past 8+ years: 1 Ceviche de Pescado 1 Coctel de Camaron(I don’t care how many Shrimp it has, the broth is amazing) 1 Avocado 1 Jarrito Tangerine Soda & extra fresh made tostadas + 2 Ceviche for the road.(need a snack for the 6hr drive home) AMAZING!

Horrible horrible service. Man that took order was arguing with another customer because he asked for a sangria but ordered a coke. Food wise. Its mediocre maybe just because I was born and lived in Ensenada Mexico so I have my mariscos standers pretty high. No beer. How do you have mariscos without a cold Modelo? You don’t! Didn’t have any good chili. Didn’t have any kind of habanero spice or sauce. The day I put tapatio in my mariscos will be the day I will loose all taste in food. The taco de camarón was ight. The cóctel de camarón y pulpo had no taste didn’t have avocado. Plus it was warm I personally hate warm or hot cocteles. The ceviche de pescado was extremely chunky. Had no tomato or enough lemon and absolutely no salt. Very very mediocre. I will never come back or recommend this hole in the wall joint.
