Cedar Creek Park is located at about MP110 on the Great Allegheny Passage Trail, halfway between Smithton and West Newton. It’s part of the Westmoreland County Park system and it’s the perfect rest stop for hikers and cyclists using the trail. The GAP goes right along the eastern border of the park and it’s got some fine views of the Youghiogheny River. We paused in the riverbend area known as Manderino Riverfront Park. It’s the perfect spot to take a breather, stretch your legs, and take in a great view of the river. If you’re running a little low on supplies, Cedar Creek Station has food & drink and they rent bikes too. The north end of the park, Cedar Creek Gorge, has some pretty steep, rugged hiking trails. I’m gonna have to return here with my girlfriends.
