This is probably my favorite location. They always have some awesome buy out sale, once i got a ton of home décor and stationary from from an Urban Outfitters buy out and nothing was over $ 5. There are times when it’s slim pickins but for the most part I walk out with a bag or 2. It’s a bummer they took out the concessions, I miss their $ 2 nachos and cheese.

Love gabes. I grew up going here for back to school shopping and anytime I needed clothes, my Mother would take me here. So of course, the nostalgia plays a part for my love affair here. You can find kids winter coats for $ 7-$ 10, brand name high end denim for $ 20 a pair, earrings and jewelery from $.50-$ 2.50 each. I went crazy this last trip there and bought four kids coats in different sizes, kids socks, undershirts, and underwear, 20 pairs of earrings, a knit ladies top, a pair of kids shoes, a kids jacket, five long sleeve kids shirts, a decorative plaque for a wall, and I still came in at $ 60-$ 70. A total bargain. Gabes also carries large size mens shoes,(think 16+, I once found a size 28!!)

This is the place to go in the Ohio/West Virginia/West PA area when you want things on the EXTREME cheap. This place is less expensive than Marshall’s, TJ Max, and Ross. Heck, some things are cheaper here than at a Big Lots. This inexpensive shopping environment comes at a cost. That cost is that you cannot find a size, then grab, and go You must examine your potential purchase, as it may have a defect… like pants w/a big hole… welcome to the shopping experience regionally known as either Gabe’s or «Josie Bells»(said w/a French accent). Pros * Dirt cheap pricing on designer items * Always changing merchandise * Each Gabe’s has its’ own specialty(some stores are better for shoes, others luggage, or pants) * Surprise… crazy finds. I got a Tyler backpack made w/ballistic nylon currently offered at Dicks for $ 149…for $ 20 w/no defects * Only about 20% of what is here has a defect. Cons * You get nervous when you do not find what is wrong w/it(does it say«sample» across the back and can only be seen in certain light?). * It is crazy in there sometimes * They do not always have what you want so repeated/weekly visits can be necessary. Overall — When you find that insane deal, it makes all your prior trips worthwhile.

For the budget conscious consumer, this store is pretty hard to beat. Name brands and inventory change frequently so you must shop often to snag the best deals. I shop there at least once per week just to scout out the great deals. The men’s section is a bit sparse compared to the women’s section. I also find more damaged merchandise in the men’s section as well, but that’s part of the Gabe’s adventure! Growing up, we used to go to the first store in Uniontown, PA where everything was just thrown into bins that you could dig through. They certainly have come a long way! If you like high quality goods at affordable prices, this place is definitely worth the time and extra effort to shop there. Where else could you find a pair of True Religion jeans for $ 10? Oh yes… and they do have a clearance section in the back of the store, too :)

Gosh, my cousins rave about the great deals they find here. We took a peek during my last visit there and I have to say, I can’t stand it. Everything is so messy and disorganized. Anything I even looked at, I had to inspect completely. The shoe department didn’t have much worth looking at. If I lived in the area, I think the only thing I would really look at would be linens and such as there seemed to be some decent deals.

After hearing some(decently) good reviews about Gabriel Brothers, I gave it a shot during the summer of 2008. Unfortunately, when I went, although there were good brand names(Urban Outfitters, American Apparel, some designer jeans, J. Crew) and low LOW prices, almost all of them were defective in some way. i tried to buy some American Apparel shirts but every single one of them had a hole in it somewhere. Sad to say, I won’t be going back. For discount shopping, I’d rather pay a bit more and go to Filene’s Basement or TJ Maxx.
