I drove 50 miles east and realized they had given me the wrong gas gauge reading. This 9ft truck displays it in reverse compared to others, F to E. I signed for ¾ tank full and I misread when I verified as I trusted UHaul. It ended up being a ¼ tank and I was almost late to my destination because I had to stop for gas near Coram, Long Island leaving from Bellerose, Queens. If you truly gave me the van at ¾ full tank I wouldn’t have needed to fill up 50 – 60 miles into my trip. Assuming mistakes happen every so often, I went back to this location and spoke with the manager Santiago. He wasn’t understanding the slightest bit and was reacting like I was making something up. It’s sad that they can’t take my odometer mile reading and see that I’m correct but he was very dismissive and said it’s their policy and that I’d have to pay a refueling cost plus a per mile fee. I took the van and wasted another $ 30 in gas as I already refueled for $ 35. This is not how you treat a customer who rents on a weekly basis. I’ll be taking my business elsewhere. Great job Manager Santiago Solis.
