Best comic shop in the area. Selection of comics are great. My favorite part of this shop are the great employees that offer great service. They get to know their customers very well and make recommendations on other books you may like.

My husband and I are both into various fandoms so as soon as we moved to the area we started scouting comic book stores. Fantasy Books was the first place we checked out and our favorite so far. They have a great selection and really friendly service. I also started going to their ladies nights on the last Saturday of every month and I love it. Discussing comics with a feminine slant with a bunch of really awesome people. You really can’t go wrong.

Fantasy Books is my favorite comic book store in the area, and with good reason — it’s one of the oldest and most established, with a deep product mix, a game room, and a ton of cool comic book merchandise such as action figures, collectibles and statues. I have a couple of minor gripes about Fantasy Books(the street parking is less than ideal, and the building’s a little old and shabby), but they’re more than made up for by the great customer service and the availability of product. Back when I was a comic book writer several years ago, I bought a lot of comics, and the folks at Fantasy were always happy to hold books for me order in things I needed. I’ve been happy with them every single time I’ve been in. One thing I really must commend Fantasy Books on is its large kids’ section. It’s pretty typical to see the kids’ section of a comic book store relegated to a front window where a small bookcase of graphic novels comprises the entire set of offerings. At Fantasy Books, the kids’ comics are displayed prominently on a gondola and the mature comics are kept in a glass display case. The store is extremely kid-friendly and also offers a lot of manga and kid-oriented games(such as collectible card games). The store does offer board games and gaming supplies as well, and even has a gaming room for tabletop fun. All in all, I’d say Fantasy Books is best for buying comics(since games are in greater supply at their O’Fallon store, Fantasy Games), but it’s a great store all around.
