The pizza is pretty good. Still pricy but good. And DONOTEVER order delivery. The one time we ordered delivery first of all… we live right down the road not even 2 miles away… it took them TWOHOURS to get our pizza here and we called multiple times to find out what was going on. finally canceled our order and not even 3 minutes later the delivery guy shows up with a COLD pizza and still expects us to pay full price…

We eat here a lot. I like the atmosphere, and the food is OK. The salads are good, but salads are difficult to mess up. I usually order chicken parmesan, even though it isn’t on the menu, because they never have whole wheat pasta ready, even though that is on the menu. Tonight my chicken parmesan was disgusting. I have never seen so much marinara sauce in my life. It was absolute overkill. I had to eat around the sauce. I complained, but it was bad enough that we probably won:‘t be back. We eat there 3 – 4 times a month. I guess we will find a new Italian place to eat. I like to eat at local places, so it is a shame. It is just a common sense thing to put a normal amount of sauce on food, at an Italian restaurant.

After you eat, you can sweat off, and poop out your meal in their sauna bathroom 10⁄10 would dump there again

This was a rough dinner. We arrived and the front door was locked, even though they were open and we could see people inside. Maybe that should’ve been our sign to go, but we walked in through Shenanigans, which is attached. We ordered, and my wife’s Caesar salad came out first, but it was so smothered in dressing, you literally had to scrape some off e lettuce and spinach to taste it. Then as she was near finished with her salad, my spinach calzone came out, but it had to go back because the cheese inside was still uncooked. So it came out again. And was cooked, but my wife was already done eating, and when I bit into the calzone, it had almost NO sauce, only cheese and the vegetables. The only thing in there less than the sauce was the spinach… wait, wasn’t this supposed to be a spinach calzone? So long story short, the wait staff was somewhat apologetic, but nothing was done to try to make it up. All in all, I was unimpressed. It wasn’t awful, it just wasn’t good.

Don’t bother. We went to dinner. They had paper reserved signs on every single open table. They sent us to other side. Tons of unoccupied tables but not allowed to sit at any of them. On top of it, they were rude. We won’t be back.

One of those hidden gems you just love to find! Had a great meal with the hubby. He had the spaghetti with Italian sausage. I had the seafood cannelloni. One of the better seafood dishes I have ever had. They both came with the house salad which had a sweet Italian dressing, cheese and what I think to be Italian ham crumbles? Anyway, it was delicious! There is complimentary bread(not impressive) with some really good oil, balsamic & parm. The service was spectacular! Skip the high prices at OG and go here!

Hidden Gem in my own back yard! #MarcosOnMain Lunch Buffet is reasonable $ 7.95 … But don’t expect fancy but do expect DELICIOUS! Three different salads, variety of pizza, two pastas, three different types of soup, toasted ravioli(of course its almost a St. Louis tradition) with«real» meat sauce, the best buffalo chicken bites I have had in years, and fresh garlic bread. stlmetrofoodie

Try the new items on the buffet. They have add a fresh baked pasta, sauced chicken bites, pasta salad and toasted ravioli. The service is best on Thursdays and Fridays for the buffet but is great all the time.

I usually love this place but I called at 850pm on a Thursday and the website says they close at 10 pm. They answered the phone and told me they couldn’t help me. Not very reliable or consistent!!! Really disappointed!!!

3 ½ stars. Super friendly, décor is average. The food is pretty good. Still about 10 bucks a piece, but you get the salad with it. The house salad was really good. If you want cheaper but decent Italian food on this side of the river definitely give it a try.

Not a fancy place, but good food, and a friendly staff. The pizzas are very good. I’m a big fan of the Wisconsin. The lunch buffet is ok. Sometimes the pizza part is skimpy. Good food at descent prices.

Ate dinner hear tonight with six others, and none of us were particularly happy with our meal. There were only two other people eating in the restaurant when we arrived, but I just attributed that to the cold/snowy weather. We were brought bread that was incredibly stale, which was served with oil and cheese or some non-refrigerated imitation garlic butter. The iced tea tasted like water. Food was bland and just under seasoned. The pasta salad they serve for a side had dried out, crunchy pieces mixed in with the rest. The pizza dough lacked salt, but out of everything we ate, the pizza was the most enjoyable. Our service was not stellar either. I know people used to rave about this place, but our entire party had a very disappointing meal. I have eaten at the owner’s newest restaurant, Tavern on Main, and it was great. Maybe all the best cooks and staff went there. I would not come back.

This isn’t the fanciest Italian restaurant around, but it isn’t a bad place to go for lunch. I do not think I’ve ever ordered from the menu. There is a daily lunch buffet that gives a pretty good selection. The buffet usually consists of two types of pre-dressed salads, pizza, usually 4 or 5 soups, pasta, meat sauce and garlic bread. The biggest complaint I have with the buffet is that they only put one pizza out at a time, so the pizza plate is empty about 50% of the time. On the positive side, the pizza is thin-crust, and quite good, so it is worth the wait. They’ve recently done some remodeling, so the interior appearance has improved, but still isn’t a «fancy» place to eat. It is a decent, family-oriented casual restaurant.

INSHORT: West Belleville’s best option for local pizza and pasta. You might want to get carryout, though, because the interior is not very pleasant. DETAILS: West Belleville is an interesting area. From appearances, it’s on a steep decline. But there are some excellent restaurants there to support those who live in the nicer homes in the still-good pockets of the area. Marco’s on Main doesn’t look like much. It’s in a dingy, outdated shopping center sandwiched between a Subway and a bar called Shenanigans. There’s a dorky chef statue outside. The windows are dark, and the place doesn’t look all that spectacular. But let me encourage you to give them a try, for three reasons. First, they have a lunch pasta buffet that’s supposed to be really good. Second, they have great salad that comes with a house sweet italian dressing. Third, they’ve got excellent pizza on a somewhat thin crust that’s just delicious. This third point is why we will go back to Marco’s on Main. The pizza crust wasn’t quite cracker-thin, but it was definitely tasty. The blend of cheeses they use on the pizza is quite pleasant and substantive, and the sauce isn’t overpowering. They also offer a nice range of toppings which includes mandarin oranges for the Hawaiian pizza. Dinner is served with a nice italian bread that can be dipped in an oil and cheese combination or smeared with garlic butter. Both are great choices. My wife and I were not, I must admit, incredibly blown away by the restaurant itself. It needs a remodel badly, and it seemed a little dirty.(Enough that I knocked a star off the rating. Sorry, guys, but these things do matter!) But there were plenty of regulars eating there, the service was wonderful, and the food was quite good. I really wanted to like the place despite its ugly interior, because I enjoyed the food so much. You can also order from Marco’s Express if you’re on the east end of town and simply looking for carryout. It’s the same menu, there’s just no place to sit and eat.

my sister picked Marcos on Main for my mom’s birthday. she and her family love it. i think it is just ok. prices are competitive for an italian place. the food is good but almost never served hot. Warm yes. HOT no! i got their greek pizza and a bit of mom’s pasta. the taste of the food is good, but i think it sat a minute because it was not exactly cold but not hot either. i go if someone else is paying or the rest of the group decide to go. but not a place i would choose on my own. if you live in the area, give it a try. it is not a place that i would go out of the way to eat there.
