I needed the main spring replaced on my antique Seth Thomas mantle clock. Ken Culp at Time for Enternity did a great job for a VERY economical cost, $ 60. I highly recommend Time for Eternity. The owner, Ken Culp, really knows his stuff. Got a big grandfather clock? Ken Culp even makes house calls!

Ken Culp Jr. is a wonderful person and although none of my timepieces required major service, he was very helpful. Several days prior to my contacting him, I purchased a West German clock with a German movement at an auction. I brought the clock home and tried it out, and found that(naturally) it was out of beat and wouldn’t run for long. I could not fully understand how to set the beat so I went to Lewis Jewelers in Ann Arbor and they directed me to Mr. Culp, whom I phoned and explained the situation. He said rather than bringing the clock to his shop, he was already going to be in the town where I live, and said he’d be happy to swing by and take a look. Not only did he arrive early, but waited in my driveway for me to get home from work(about a half hour!), now THAT’S what I call customer service. He looked at my clock, answered all my questions about maintenance and such, he reset the beat, explained how to do it, explained when I’d know if it needs service, and he oiled the bearings. I asked him if the clock needed new bearings or a teardown or anything, and rather than saying«yes» outright and insisting that I needed a repair, he explained what necessitated a full teardown, and explained that my clock did not need one as I had initially thought; saving me about $ 125 – 150! Not only did he fix my clock, but also my father’s mantle clock, which hadn’t run in many years. Needless to say, I was very pleased. Moreover, as he was about to leave I tried to compensate him for his time, but he would not take any money. He said it was no trouble and was happy to help, but I insisted he take some money for his time and helpfulness and he finally agreed. Ken is very polite, professional, and he knows exactly what he’s doing. I have been looking for a clock/watch repairman for a long time, and in my opinion, Ken is the best around. Once I have a watch or clock repaired by him I will post an update. If you have old timepieces that need some TLC, take them to Ken, you won’t be disappointed.
