Courtyard Seattle Bellevue/Downtown

Sam was awesome, when he found out that it was mine and my husband birthday he waved our parking fee $ 60, if that wasn’t enough. My husband and i decided to walk across for some shopping when we got back to the hotel we had a surprise waiting for us. Bottle of wine 2 boxes of mixed nuts, pretzels and gummy bears. Also 2 free coffee and 2 free pastries from Starbucks. He made sure this was going to be a great Birthday gate away. This place is nice and clean near shopping places, movies and restaurant. Highly recommend this place. Made sure Sam new we appreciate him so we gave him a little gift from us Movie tickets and $. He emailed and thanked us. Again thanks Sam youre the best!

Good courtyard hotel. Better than many others. We have been here on several occasions over the years. It has a nice parking garage, is central for easy walking to dozens of great to awesome restaurants, and is not bad. There is a Starbucks store around the corner, and they have a decent bar /​food area for breakfast. We were lucky and got upgraded to a corner suite … which doesn’t hurt anything either.

I frequent this Bellevue Courtyard and have had nothing but good experiences. My only complaint is that they jack the prices up occasionally and i find that annoying. It’s a Courtyard Marriott. The new Marriott down the street is almost always less expensive. That makes no sense.

Nice hotel. It’s in a good location and it’s very nice. The only thing is their restaurant. They have always been nice until the last time we stayed. We were on a schedule and me and my sister and friend went down to get breakfast. With my mom had payed for in advance when she booked. And the lady told us it would be a couple mins. So we sat down at some chairs that were right there. Then someone else came and sat 2 big groups of people. So we decided to stand back up so we wouldn’t get skipped again. A min. later the 2^nd lady came back and told us we couldn’t eat without a parent to sign for us. So we waited down there for about half an hour and didn’t even get to eat. Because we are kids they completely skipped and basically ignored us. My mom came down and talked to them, after that they were nice. However it was very rude to skip us and put us to the side just because we were kids. I would not recommend eating at their restaurant.

Unfortunately this Courtyard isn’t Marriott grade:
— the elevator is broken
— heater in the room was broken …
— … next room stank of smoke
— housekeeping didn’t clean room until after second call.
— not even a spoon in your room to stir your coffee …

This place is fine — it’s clean and the staff were professional. This review is a reflection of this Courtyard relative to other Courtyards and the equivalent in other hotel chains; in other words relative to the best (a 5-​star) Courtyard I’ve stayed in this one is a 2-​star.
Since these hotels generally cater to business travelers there are certain amenities I expect to be done well, hence the poor rating. The ironing board was old or or poor quality without any padding between the cover and the metal frame. This meant that as my pants were ironed the pattern of the metal frame came through and imprinted on the pant — yikes! The alarm clock was not set to the correct time. Please, have housekeeping check this. The mini-​fridge ran so loud I unplugged it in the middle of the night. Even after turning off the AC, because the room didn’t need to be cooled down to 65, it kept running/​kicking on at night. The best hotels think through the details of ambient sound and address them.
When I came down for breakfast at 6 they hadn’t opened and seemed flustered by my timely arrival. Apparently the buffet came with a specific number of items, e.g. a 2-​egg omelet or 2 eggs fried/​scrambled. It was difficult to tell how much of what was included because it wasn’t posted anywhere and they cleared the menu almost before I had a chance to finish looking. The breakfast was ok — they had a nice selection of berries and the eggs are hard not to prepare well. The pastries were all of mass-​produced, low quality — the kind that make you gag a little because of how unnecessarily sweet or carboard-​like they are.
What really dropped this place from 3 to 2 stars was the dinner food. It was the most inedible meal I’ve ever seen. I took a few bites and was so disgusted I just paid and left the rest. The «chowder» was a gloppy, shiny concoction with what looked like bits of carrot, potato and salmon. It smelled quite fishy — as in how fish smells once it’s gone bad. The french fries were clearly from a bag of generic frozen fries and about ¹⁄₃^rd were burnt on the ends. So bad it was bizarre — much worse than McDonald’s. The waitstaff was mediocre too and when I asked about something non-​alcoholic without caffeine all they could think of was water. Um — what about juice, soda water, non-​caffeinated sodas, milk, herbal tea, etc. In the end I had soda water and juice but had to walk them through the request item by item. I’d probably stay here again if someone else paid for it and it was convenient, but I wouldn’t eat here again. I wouldn’t spend my own money to stay here.

Great location right across from the Bravern shops. Can’t say enough about this place. Quick check-​in. We were celebrating an anniversary in town so they waved our parking fee ($ 18) — very kind of them. We had a great deal ($ 127 with tax) room overlooking the pool. It was off season (Christmas time — no pool activity) so the room was very quiet.
The bed was a bit oversized for the room but was very comfy. Free WiFi is a big bonus. Note to Linux users, there may be a WiFi connection problem. (Not a Marriott problem, but their WiFi provider has a strange set up).
The heating system was a little loud, but the comfy bed makes up for the extra noise.
The parking garage is down a couple of levels. Very impressive secure parking area on P3.
I would definitely recommend this Marriott.

OMG-​This place stinks. The first room I got smelled like mildew right away. I asked for a new room, they complied. As the front desk lady is walking me to my room she blurts out my old room number and then my new room number-​in front of another guess. He don’t need to know my room number! After sitting in my room a bit I smell that mildew smell again. Then, I start smelling cigarette smoke. What the heck? Not my favorite place at all!

What happened to my prior review?
Very sorry, Bellevue Courtyard, but am writing this again because you guys are THE BEST. About a year ago, I stayed with you for a few weeks on business. I am currently sitting in another full up Cat 9 Marriott across the country yearning for you. Folks, this is what the Bellevue Courtyard did for me:
I had a medical emergency while there and, after emergency surgery, came back to the Courtyard a couple of days later to recuperate. The management and staff were so amazing. They were super helpful, concerned that I had everything I needed and brought me a HUGE BOUQUET OF FLOWERS. My medical emergency was my gall bladder, not anything to do with their hotel. Heck, I felt bad that the ambulance probably woke up the whole hotel plus the EMTs on my floor were loud for midnight!
I strongly and highly recommend this Courtyard. Much nicer than the usual Courtyard, extremely clean, great staff and clearly, caring people. You do the Marriott brand proud guys. Bravi Tutti!

This lovely Courtyard is located right in the heart of Downtown Bellevue and is definitely one of the better Courtyards I have stayed in. Upon our visit to Seattle we decided to stay in Bellevue and we always frequent Marriott hotels and this one was right in the middle of this lovely bustling city, had great rates for Family and Friends Discount and was close to the freeway.
We arrived fairly early, well before the typical 4pm check-​in and we were able to check-​in first thing that morning with no problems. The front desk staff is very welcoming and nice, they greet you as soon as you walk through the door and answer any questions you may have about the hotel or the surrounding area. The lobby area is very beautiful and was very busy our entire stay, whether it was people just lounging around, printing tickets at the kiosk or just coming and going. The hotel has a restaurant inside Table 8 which is open for breakfast and dinner, there is also a Starbucks on the lower level of the hotel, a Japanese restaurant adjacent to the parking structure across the way as well as other amenities such as an indoor pool, gym and so on.
The rooms are average size with the King bed rooms being equipped with the bed, pull out sofa, mini fridge and coffee maker. The bathrooms are very nice and spacious as is the shower. The beds are very comfortable and the pillows are so soft, like sleeping on clouds. Depending which floor you are on you may have some really good views of the downtown area. Free WiFi is offered here which really came in handy during our trip because some hotels charge a fee for the use of the internet.
Parking here is $ 18 a day but does allow you in and out privileges and the parking garage is very safe and secure so there is no need to worry about any damage to your car or anything. There is a lot to do in the area, directly across the street from the hotel is The Shops At The Bravern which a very upscale shopping center with many stores and restaurants. There are also a few other shopping centers and a mall close by and the hotel is conveniently located about 15 minutes away from Downtown Seattle as well as the Seattle/​Tacoma International Airport.
If you are vising Bellevue this is the perfect hotel to stay at, there’s tons to do in the area and everything in Downtown is within walking distance.

One the best hotels I’ve stayed at in a long time. I love my sleep, so having a quiet room and blackout curtains really makes my night! The 2 queen rooms are clean and spacious, and the bed & bedding makes me feel at home.

There was a mixup with my reservation and they made it all better. Probably one of my favorite Courtyard properties and I stay in a lot of them. Right across from a nice David Barton gym.

Situated in the middle of downtown Bellevue WA. My first ever visit to Bellevue with my family. Room is spacious enough with friendly staff. The only problem is that air con is very loud and it bothered us a little. Highly recommended for those visiting Bellevue.

I am traveling back and forth from Boston for work. So far so good. The hotel is clean and the rooms are nice. I normally stay at full service hotels so I miss the concierge lounge, but they have everything you need.

I don’t mean anything but I’m gonna give one star for bad service. There is an old saying in my culture cuz I’m from Beijing that is don’t ever stay in the end of the hallway of the hotel. The bad thing happend finally and I am scared. Right now is 3:30am in the morning and I was trying to move to another room they said no. WTF is ur problem? I can’t sleep well I just want another room… I was totally disappointed. But never mind i checked out already and I’m gonna sleep in the lobby. fuck this hotel and hope u guys can doing great in the future!

Pros:
Very nice and clean hotel– easily one of the best Courtyard hotels that I’ve stayed at and I travel often.
Restaurant is the best that I’ve had at any Courtyard.
The gym, for some reason, has outdated equipment– but it’s definitely doable.
Parking is right below the hotel.
The only con:
The reception using my verizon mobile devices and portable wifi signal from verizon (MiFi) SUCKS in this location.
You’ll be happy staying here.

I stayed at this location for my birthday. My friends and I drove from Portland, OR. We were not greeted upon entering the hotel. The gal (Selina) who was in training was not welcoming or friendly at all. The staff altogether didn’t acknowledge their guest. A gentleman that worked the evening shift was nice. He took a picture for our group with no complaints. Kudos to him.
It’s a nice hotel, however I expected world class service considering it’s the Marriott. I didn’t like the $ 12 parking.

This Courtyard is updated and felt very high end. It was close to Seattle without having to pay big city prices.
Kally at the front desk was amazing. She suggested two local restaurants for dinner (Tap House Grill and Cactus) and helped me plan my sight seeing itinerary. The food was amazing and I was able to see everything on my list.

***Located in upscale Downtown Bellevue, this Courtyard is a more upscale Courtyard but with reasonable weekend room rates***
Downtown Bellevue reminds me a lot of Costa Mesa around South Coast Plaza. It is a newly developed area just outside of Seattle with many upscale shopping and dining options (more corporate feeling though with big name luxury brands like Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus and El Gaucho; a Din Tai Fung is located in the area). Due to the many companies in Bellevue and nearby Kirkland, there are several hotels in Downtown Bellevue including this Courtyard by Marriott.
Courtyard is not the most luxurious option among Marriott’s brand of hotels. Courtyards tend to be more of a value option but with nicer beds and rooms than Marriott’s lower end brands like Fairfield Inn. Courtyards are also very consistent from location to location, which is why they are popular. The rooms and lobbies tend to be modern and Courtyards often feature free Wi-​Fi, 24-​hour fitness centers and complimentary parking.
This Courtyard has most of those benefits; because this Courtyard is in a downtown area, parking is not free but also not too expensive at $ 12 per night. This Courtyard though really does stand out compared to other Courtyards. It starts with the lobby. This Courtyard does not have the modern but generic lobby setup that most Courtyards are now featuring. Instead, the lobby is a big space with very nice chairs, a good and slightly luxurious color scheme and a warm, inviting fireplace.
While many Courtyards are now employing Courtyard’s bistro concept, this Courtyard has a restaurant as well as a more full service hotel-​like bar. This Courtyard also even has a few banquet rooms for meetings, events and such.
The hallways are nice and have an attractive look. Rooms are nice here too. The sofa was much nicer than the college apartment-​like couches that much Courtyards have (nice ottoman too). This Courtyard also featured good lighting over the ice bucket stand and entry nook that made the room feel more luxurious. This Courtyard also had a very comfortable bed with nice linens and an in-​room safe. In-​room safes are common at Marriott and Renaissance hotels but not Courtyards.
The bathroom was big and very clean and I liked the shower head, which was very amazon rainfall-​esque. While I liked the water pressure, I did not like the water temperature. There was not a good range of water temperature as the water went from very hot to not hot enough with only a slight nudge of the dial. The room temperature was nice.
Service was very good. The front desk was very polite and friendly and quickly fixed a snafu I had in my reservation.
Weekend room rates are very reasonable despite having to pay for parking. This Courtyard is in a very nice area and there is plenty to walk to and you are not that far from Seattle (a 20-​minute or so drive to Downtown Seattle and traffic tends to be manageable on weekends).
This Courtyard is one of the nicer Courtyards I have ever been to (the best Courtyard I have been to would be the property I stayed at in Kansas City Briarcliff). While the shower could have had a greater range of water temperatures and I would have enjoyed complimentary parking like other Courtyards, this Courtyard was better than most Courtyards in almost every other way including value. If you are spending most of your time in Bellevue, this Courtyard is an excellent option. It is also a very good option if you are spending time in Seattle and want to avoid the high room rates you have to pay at the Downtown Seattle Marriott and Renaissance.
As mentioned, parking is $ 12 per night in the hotel’s gated underground parking structure.

The Courtyard Marriott is always a very good hotel with the exception of this one hotel unfortunately. There has been a late check in with a family late in the evening and they are drinking and screaming. Twice I have gone downstairs to the from desk to ask for some help in the situation and I was told I was wrong. Then I was told I could leave and would be forced to leave if I asked again about it. The mans name was Jayreep. Jayreep also was opening bottles of wine for these people by the front desk. I informed him I was going to talk to the GM and he said he was going to as well.
Bottom line: he has zero customer service and was extremely offensive, twice and I am a guest trying to sleep at 2AM. I’ll update after I discuss this with Marriott Corporate and the GM Monday. Stay at the Hyatt! Same price and courteous and helpful attendants. This place IS LOUD.
