I was initally impressed by Dr. Fosmire’s caring and courteous bedside manner but dismayed by his follow-up protocol(handling adverse medication side effects, recommendations for testing, sharing test results). All follow-up communication was handled via an arrogant and unsympathetic medical assistant who completely dismissed my concerns. I sought opinions from three other neurologists and all agreed on a different diagnosis from that made by Dr. Fosmire. So upset that I had to suffer the ill-effects of the wrong medication for several months until my condition was correctly diagnosed.

After seeing a gazillion doctors and suffering migraines for 10 years, he solved my problem by my second visit. He is amazingly good, patient, thoughtful and detailed. He takes time with his patients, and listens. The downside of being the best neurologist in town is that he sometimes has a very long wait to get in. He requires a referral, and his office is inflexible about this, so be sure to have one sent over before you call.

Excellent doctor, probably one of the best I’ve seen. You can tell he is extremely knowledgeable and cares about his patients. Another thing I like about his office is that it is a small two doctor practice and it doesn’t have that revolving door in and out in 5 minutes feel like you get at SOMANY offices these days. The location is pretty convenient too, in the Overlake Hospital Medical Tower. I strongly recommend anyone seeking a great neurologist to call and make an appointment to see Dr. Fosmire… heads up though, he is often booked out 4+ months. Yes, he is that good… I had to learn the hard way when I called to make an appointment expecting to get in within a week or two, nope — not gonna happen!
