Jing Jing Asian Market

Jing Jing Supermarket is a very clean Asian grocery. Price is right, service is great. Everyone who works there always willing to help customers. The store is not as big as Uwajimaya but they have enough selections.

Usually my «back up» Asian grocery store for dried goods or sauces. I’ve bought items from their frozen food section such as the frozen dim sum and unfortunately, it’s usually spoiled when I steam them up. Upon opening the package, you can see that it was thawed at one point then was frozen back up again — not cool (literally). I’ve tried several times hoping it was a bad batch but I think it’s just how the product the stored & when it gets into the freezer section.
Veggies are hit or miss & I don’t buy seafood or meat here — the smell or either bleach or if that is not present, the mix of raw meat & seafood when I step back there gets rather strong. Better than nothing in the area I guess.

Glad it’s here. It’s not as cheap as Chinatown, but it’s comparable to other Asian groceries in the area (i.e. Seattle Supermarket on 148^th). It’s a perfect addition to the Factoria neighborhood, especially considering the demographic. Veggies and fruit all seem pretty fresh and the store has a substantial snack and ramen aisle. Excellent.
The adjoining café is also nice for a quick lunch. I tried the Shanghai style tofu dish (tofu, 3 ways) and found it satisfying.

Haven’t been here in awhile and it looks like the food in the deli has improved! It’s close to home and the grocery prices are better than uwajimaya for Asian pantry staples. Just had lunch in the deli — 2 braised soy eggs, Szechuan spicy fish, braised ribs, and a huge portion or Singapore noodles for $ 8.99. All surprisingly tasty and more than enough for me and my 3 year old. Happy to have another cheap Chinese meal spot nearby.

Great place to go for a quick lunch from their bakery/​hot bar section. Food was pretty typical for food from a Asian grocery store hot bar. Not great but it still tasty, plus cheap and large portions. The bakery items were good too. We walked out very satisfied.
The grocery store itself is on the smaller side but still contains a good selection of Asian goods. We weren’t really buying groceries but still picked up a few things to round out our pantry.

This review is for the Snow Ice in the deli/​bakery section. Snow ice… like the Hong Kong /​Taiwanese ribbon style and not the Hawaiian shaved ice.
Rewind to the beginning of summer 2014: I stumbled upon this place after driving by and seeing the words «Snow Ice» drawn on the window. I go in, order a snow ice with azuki bean and had a generous bowl served to me. The texture was light and fluffy like the snow ice I experienced in Vancouver BC. I was impressed and would return again the following week for more, which was another a good experience. On about the third trip there, something weird happened and the snow ice became awful. The texture became really stretchy and goopey, almost like Elmer’s Glue. It was no longer the light and fluffy snow ice that I had the past two times.
Thinking that maybe it was a block of ice that had not been frozen properly, I figured I go back and give them another shot. But again, I was disappointed when I received the same results. I stopped going there for snow ice. *sigh*
Fast forward to about March of of 2015… I stopped in and inquired about snow ice and was told «maybe April we will start having it»…so I returned in April and was told «Not until May». *sigh*
Then recently, in the middle of summer 2015, in the midst of our record setting 90+ degree days here in Seattle, I stopped in and asked if there was snow ice being served. I got a «Yes» from the worker! The price went up about 50 cents (no biggie) and I was thinking «heck yeaaaaa!» it’s been way overdue and I totally wanted one, so I ordered the milk flavor snow ice with red beans. But once again, upon receiving the bowl in my hands, I could tell just by the appearance of the snow ice that it was going to be a disappointment. Same sticky, goopey, stretchy texture as the summer prior. I didn’t even get more than a few bites in when I decided that it was just too gross to eat. (See Photo 44) and I threw it away.
Jing Jing… you guys need to get your snow ice game back to the way it was. You could be making a killing from the snow ice loving folks because no one else is really serving snow ice around the Seattle/​Bellevue area. Until I read another Unilocal review that says the snow ice texture is back to light and fluffy, I won’t be going to Jing Jing and will just have to make the trip to Vancouver BC or Los Angeles to get my snow ice fix.

Initially, I was really excited to discover this Asian grocery store in the area. There is a nice selection of fresh produce that is well organized. Prices and labels are marked and easy to see.
I purchased some fruits and vegetables that were good quality and tasted fresh.
However, the meat here is not so fresh. I purchased a pack of chicken to make dinner that week. After just a day, my refrigerator started to smell like smelly old raw chicken. I saw the chicken was looking a little gray, so I had to throw it out. Yuck! :(
There is a small parking lot. Service was fair and prices are a little higher. Sad that the meat went bad. I plan to steer clear of their meat section from now on.

I found the majority of items to be more expensive compared to other Asian stores. Randomly picked up a few dry packaged items to notice that they they expired. Was looking for a couple of specific items which are quite common to Asian markets, only to find that they didn’t have them there. Pretty unimpressed and will be on the hunt to find a better Asian Market.

Like to go here during my lunch break when I feel like having a little pastry or bun; I like their BBQ Pork Bun. I like to walk around and see what they have in the bakery and deli. I’ve tried one of their bubble teas, but wasn’t too fond of it.

Love this hidden away place. Great prices. Small but has the right stuff. Tofu, mushrooms, spices if you know what to buy. Recommended.

I came here quite a few years ago when they first opened but didn’t really remember how awesome this little Asian grocery mart was.
Came here again and first checked out their little café area, a boatload of bubble teas & drinks, BBQ meats, some other prepared cooked foods, bakery items to grab yourself and some other pastry items at the counter. My favorite was the huge wall of candies, dried plums and all that kinds of stuff. Impressive.
The grocery mart itself is pretty small but it has your essential produce, meats, seafood area in the back. Good amount of sauces, but they dont have my all time favorite hot sauce… the search continues. They do have a lot of those juice boxes, especially the lemon iced tea one, for some reason Uwajimaya always runs out of those.
Prices are definitely cheaper here which is a plus. Location is kind of hidden but its close to Top Gun restaurant/​near Factoria Mall. Parking lot isnt the largest but whatever. Check-​out situation can take longer where sometimes only 1 cashier is working.
I like this little market and will come by again when in the area.

I am really glad that the Seattle area has a lot of diversity when it comes to Asian supermarkets. Jing Jing isn’t one of those giants like Uwajimaya or 99 Ranch Market, but it’s close. The selection here is huge and varied, the store is fairly clean, and it’s near Factoria Mall by the intersection of I-​405 and I-​90.
They seem to specialize in candy, meats, and drinks. In addition to foods, they carry a ton of supplies so that pretty much all your dining needs can be taken care of in a single trip to this store. The owners seem to take pride in going above and beyond. The store isn’t tiny, but I’d like it to be a little bigger. I’ve been digging this place for years and will probably continue to do so.

They have very delicious Chinese hot food at the deli, selections are Mandarin Szechuan favorites such as spicy fish, Mongolian beef, eggplants, tofu and cabbages etc, choices of rice or noodles to go with the hot entrees. Wontons and cakes and buns to go as well!

I come here to get a few specific things: exotic Asian Top Ramen bowls that come with six to one hundred intricate flavor packets, furikake, chili sesame oil and a bunch of cans of coffee/“grass seed jelly drink”/whatever other liquid that I can’t for the life of me comprehend but want to try anyway because they sound cool. I don’t come here often, and when I do, I don’t really care about prices as this place readily offers what regular grocery stores do not.
I also come here for the after-​lunch specials which are basically super-​salty curry vermicelli + pork packed into plastic boxes for a couple bucks and provide a nice cheap afternoon eat.
I do agree with other reviewers, however, that the attitude of the cashiers is generally lackluster. They have conversations in other languages and completely ignore the person at the register, and don’t indicate in the slightest that they give a damn that you’re there. The receipt is just kind of shoved in your hand and off you go. And so going here ends up being a Russian roulette that veers between curt/​apathetic attitude, which don’t bother me really, and then the «you don’t speak my language so eff you» ones which do. It’s up to you as to whether you want to deal with that sort of thing or not. If you’ve had a crap day already, probably not.

Horrible employees. Seriously. Correct me if I’m wrong.
Is it rude to not even acknowledge me and continue to speak Chinese to the customer behind me? I’m Asian too. I understand the stuff you’re saying.
Customer service. Obviously there isn’t any.
Btw. Prices are super expensive. I’m never going back.

The market as a good selection of Asian food and great service. But I’m concerned with its food quality. I have seen many times that the «Packed on» date on raw food is a FUTURE date (usually one day ahead). This makes the market untrustworthy. Besides, many processed food (e.g. frozen dumplings) doesn’t have a «Best before» or «Produced on» date on their packages. I wanted to buy many of them but without any clues on when they will expire (or have expired) I just can’t trust on them. Also, there are also food being sold already expired more than a month ago. These are serious concerns — the reason for not giving a one-​star is that the staff here are very nice.
Tip on credit card acceptance: they don’t accept American Express or Discover credit card. If you want to take advantage of Amex’s high cashback on supermarket purchases, choose somewhere else.

Probably one of the few Asian markets in the area. I only know this one and southgate market which is across from Factoria mall.
They have a wide variety of produce, meat, dry foods, and a hot food area. Not necessarily the freshest veggies tho.
I prefer to go to the Korean market nearby since there are more things I’m looking for (I cook more Korean foods than other ethicities).
Parking is available and convenient.

SOMEBODY tells the DELI that their food is really really really BAD.

Nice, clean Asian supermarket with some food options/​bakery tucked behind Factoria Mall. I went there for Boba which was reasonably priced ($ 3-​$ 3.75/drink with $ 0.50 per topping). I highly recommended Sesame Black Milk Tea w/​Tapioca. They taste so nutty and toasty… yumm! Best of all, buy 6 drinks, get 1 free. I wish I had known they have Boba there long time ago. would definitely have stopped by more often!
Other than that, there’s some hot food and other Asian supermarket groceries that you may find as well. Staff is polite and parking isn’t an issue at all. Happy to make purchase there in the future!

Decided to swing in here to kill some time while waiting to meet some friends for dinner. I have seen it a few times and wanted to swing in but never had the time to make it.
I was impressed with their bakery in the front, they had some nice selections of hum-​bows and other baked breads with meat (love the meat pies!). I thought they had some decent choices for the size of the store front.
As I walked in, I didn’t realize how much space was in this building and was surprised when I started to walk around. The had a little bit of everything, frozen section (smaller but had some good choices of gyoza, shumai, and other delicious goodies), fresh produce, kitchen utensils, meat counter, etc.
I do think this store is a nice option for eastsiders (as other reviewers have stated), but living so close to a Uwaji’s or H-​mart, I won’t have a need to shop here.
