I saw Dr. Yousefian as a referral from my Primary Care Doctor for airway problems. Although he is doing treatment for a medical issue not an orthodontic issue, the rude billing clerk refused to use the medical code for a medical issue. We had to pay the entire amount of pocket. He did a fairly thorough exam including full head x-rays. We were charged nearly $ 5000! His post-exam discussion sounded like a sales pitch. I felt like I was ripped off.

Dr. Yousefian has worked a miracle with my teeth and jaw. Several years ago I was suffering from TMD(temperomandibular joint disorder) and went to see a physical therapist, Pam Schuerman, who ultimately referred me to Dr. Yousefian, Physical therapy helped me with the pain for a while, but after a couple of years, the pain became worse than ever, and I went to see Dr. Yousefian. Dr. Yousefian started me on a holistic course of treatment that included wearing a prosthetic device to help my jaw joint bones grow back, since they had deteriorated so much. They were working bone against bone. Nine months later the bone had healed enough that I could have braces. I had braces for a year, then had to have jaw surgery because the braces could not fully correct my bite. It now has been 1over a year since the surgery, my braces just came off and I have no TMD! Throughout the process, as my bite was corrected I learned better posture and better tongue and speech patterns, and the pain disappeared. I am incredibly happy with the results.

After a very long period of time with Dr. Yousefian, with no results, I have changed orthodontists. I think Dr. Yousefian is skilled as some things, but the staff provides sloppy work. Had braces put on, had to go back numerous times because the brackets would come off my teeth, finally switched dentists and have never had one issue with a bracket or wire. I called and advised I was switching… no call back, no wanting to know why, nothing… except a lot of money for no results.

I have just recently started my treatment with Dr. Yousefian. I was referred to him by one of his former patients. I like the fact that Dr. Yousefian takes into consideration air way, facial and dental coordination. He is very detail oriented and takes his time presenting to his patients what his goal is on how to improve health through his treatment. I am excited for my results and am glad I have chosen him as my orthodontist.

Updating my review #2: This office can be very unprofessional as witnessed by Dr. Yousefian ‘s response where he posts my last name. He is in violation of HIPPA laws by revealing me as a patient. I’ve contacted Unilocal about this issue and hope it is resolved quickly. This supports my assessment that the business side needs work even if he is a good TMJ specialist. I’ve heard from his peers that he is respected but expensive. I feel I have provided a balanced and fair review of my experience and have pointed out his strengths. Updating my review #1: They don’t return emails and they don’t return calls. Despite me receiving maybe 5 treatments they keep charging me for appointments. I’ve addressed this is email and they never respond. It seems that the front desk has too many patients for what they can handle. When they were fixing my mouth insert I couldn’t pick it up for months they never once called me to follow-up. Absolutely terrible management. Dr Yousefian is nice but he needs someone who knows how to run a business. Basically I have had 5 visits and $ 3500 later and no results with continued charges. Dr. Yousefian seems to be a very good functional orthodontist and takes a holistic approach including vitamin therapy and exercise in his treatments. He’s kind and takes a lot of time with his patients although I did feel the first appointment, that I paid $ 85 to have, was a sales pitch. He takes your enter facial structure, airway and dental alignment into consideration. He’s expensive for sure but you get what you pay for hopefully. Rosita who handles finance is difficult to work with and as she states«doesn’t like repeating herself» even though she had no idea of my previous conversations with other staff. She didn’t even know that I had sent all my X-rays to the office already. All I asked for was a emailed list of the $ 585 dollar diagnostic includes and she became huffy with me. It’s steep and I believe the customer needs to know what they are paying for especially if they have already had X-rays and models taken. She says that this is the Nordstrom’s level of service-maybe she could learn about 1) customer service and 2) an understanding service level required for the expense. Melissa is wonderful and courteous. Good experience getting fitted and jaw is already feeling better. Ask for help if at all possible and avoid Rosita!
