The selection of items is a little bit small, but that’s not surprising given the size of the shop in general. I went for a piano bench with a flip-top lid. They only had one left in the store, and it was open box. They gave me a small discount for it, which I was pretty happy about. –2 stars because i felt a little bit weirded out by the level of ‘security’. They asked for my ID and even scanned it into their system. They were able to pull up some other unrelated personal information. Though I’m ok with them checking IDs to make sure I’m authorized to use my credit card, I… 1. don’t know exactly what information they received about me 2. don’t trust them with keeping it safe 3. received no indication that this is going to be deleted/etc and/or what they are going to do with my information

I shop here very often. It’s the only store in Bellevue where I can get my music books, guitar accessories, and violin accessories. The price is fine, and the service is fine. Sometimes I can find their coupons in coupon books, but most of time the price is as whatever the original manufacturers have suggested. Not cheap, but comparing to ordering online and paying shipping, it’s not too bad. In general, I have nothing to complain. The only reason why I didn’t give them 5stars is because most employees there may not be knowledgeable enough to explain their products. Once I was trying to buy Martin strings for my Martin guitar, the guy was trying to convince me to buy strings from a different brand. I asked him why, and he was unable to answer my question. I guess they probably get more commissions on certain products, which motivates them to encourage customers to purchase those products. Also, I didn’t rent my violin here. I came here to inquire about violin rental, and realized that the guy who was helping me had no idea about violin. I didn’t feel comfortable to rent there since I was not an expert of violin. I would prefer to rent from someone who knew violins well. As long as I know what I want to get, it’s a place where I can find what I need for music. The location is convenient as well.

I want to thank Kennelly Keys Music for a great education. I walked in, asking for some G harmonica reeds for my Hohner(okay, I started out asking for G chords, which made me look stupid, but I forgave myself for that). Anyway they had some reeds, not G’s, but they were over $ 23. So then I asked, well, do you have any G harmonica? I kept saying G. This is G, this is not G, this is, etc. There were sixpacks that had G as one, but I didn’t want to spend that much. I wanted a G. Finally I found one that was acceptably cheap — $ 10. Hooray. I plucked it off the rack, and gave it to the clerk who I had been speaking with for 10 minutes about my G harmonica. He rang it up. Walking out, I took the harp out of the package and asked him to dispose of it. Outside, I walked about 15 feet and blew a few notes — something wasn’t right, I did’t know what. Then I looked at the harmonica in my hand — it had a nice label E. So you can say this is all my fault, and you would be right. I wanted a G, picked the E next to it by mistake and bought that. The clerk heard me say G about 30 times, but must have figured I’d changed my mine. But I hadn’t. I’d just been careless. So I go back in side, with this harmonica that I’d blown maybe 10 breaths on, and the clerk says, sorry, we can’t take it back once it has been used. He refused to even entertain a discount, but said he would gladly sell me a G. So here’s where my education comes in. Some prefer the short gain of $ 10 over a possible longer gain of a repeated customer. Over a likely long term gain of a happy customer. Like I said, I messed up and grabbed the E, which was sitting next to the G that I’d wanted and had repeatedly asked for. So it’s completely my fault that I’ll never spend another dime there. If you patronize the place, make sure you double check yourself.

Went in for some fact finding while I was looking to purchase a guitar and Tyler was an amazing help. His knowledge base was great. He expressed a good deal of patience while working with me and I could tell that he truly cared about getting me into the correct equipment. I even expressed to him the first time I went in that I most likely was not looking to purchase anything at that time. I went back and got the guitar of my dreams. He was equally as nice the 2nd time as he was the 1st. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a great customer experience.

Terrible customer service. I called for lessons for my kids. No call back. Called again and had to be switched back and forth because the computer with the schedule was not near the phone. So I decided to walk in to be helped and man did not have time to help me said he was helping someone else(like he couldn’t be bothered). The woman who works there is nice and seems helpful so i would look for her if you have to talk to anyone.

Helpful staff and a wide selection of sheet music and instruments. I quickly found what I was looking for then promptly burned all my free time gawking at their sexy guitars. If I lived in Bellevue I wouldn’t have walked out with just sheet music…

This place is overpriced. I bought a set of D’addario Prelude strings for my son’s violin, cost me $ 23!!! They are literally half the price almost anywhere else. Good thing I had a $ 10 coupon for this location because it was their promo for just moving. I’ve previously rented a violin from them before as well… DONOT buy from them!!! Rent to own? $ 800 for a Yamaha violin? This place is lucky they are so conveniently located when I need something, otherwise all my musical stuff comes from online!

Thanks Kennelly Keys for having sheet music for me when I was in a major hurry to find music to play last week(last minute got asked to play some piano at a gala). Happy to have found much needed brand-new rosin for my violin, too. Very helpful and pleasant staff. I didn’t like a couple of the books I had originally bought and they don’t take returns, but they did allow me to exchange them for more challenging piano music — so I was happy with that. Located on the second floor of Bellevue Square.

They have a nice selection — The people at the store were also super friendly and helped me look for what I wanted right as I walked in.

I can’t resist a music shop. Show me a grand piano and I’m in there like a flash, coveting! Kennelly Keys is a fairly comprehensive music shop, offering diffeent musical instruments, music sheets and music-related gifts. Sadly they don’t allow you to play on the pianos or keyboards. A fair selection of sheet music but they can order stuff in — I eavesdropped on other customers! If you want to play music in Bellevue, this would be a good first stop.
