The government needs to find another way! Had an inspector out to look at a job and he tried to tell me that some items were not done correctly, I corrected him and had no problems after disputing his inquiry’s. After that I found out that he had only wired one house in his whole career and it was the size of a office building, no experience in residential wiring or code.
They need to be SHUT DOWN! FIND ANOTHER WAY!

Here’s a tip: If you contractor tells you that you should get an electrical permit, but isn’t going to force you to get one — DON’T. Trying to get a response on scheduling from this office is a huge joke at best. I can’t believe my tax dollars are funding this establishment.
I got my permits and went online to schedule the inspections for my house. The online system indicates it’s the best and quickest way to schedule. 24 hours later, no response. So I try to call the office as it indicates to leave a message on the scheduling line. According to the web site, I’ll hear back by the end of the day. Surprise, surprise, no response. I finally call the main line and I’m told to call back between 8 – 8:30 the morning that I requested the inspection and ask to speak to the inspector.
Yeah, the speaking to the inspector part never happened.
So then I call again and I’m sent to the voicemail of the supervisor…
You get the idea.
The best part of all this — «Does the supervisor have a supervisor I can talk to?»
«No.»
Of course not.
Now I’m stuck hostage in my home waiting for an inspector who may or may not show up in the near future (which I’m defining as the rest of the year) between the hours of 9 – 4. How to builders possibly get anything done when they have to wait for these geniuses to show up is a question that I cannot answer. At least I have an idea why construction is always delayed.
The best part of all this is that I’m pregnant and due any time in the next week. Try scheduling your doctor appointments and labor around the electrical inspector. If you’ve figured out how to do it, please drop me a note. I could use some tips.
