Larsen Lake Blueberry Farm

I came here with my 1 year old for some blueberry picking. We got here right when it opened, and by the time we left (maybe an hour later), the lot was full, and cars were parked all along the street. The blueberries were small, but tasty. They give you a bucket, then weigh it at the end. Very inexpensive. They only take cash. The other fruit they offer is nothing special — just as good as in any grocery store.

This is really fun — they give you a bucket and you pick as much as you like for $ 1.50/lb.

Great place for blueberry picking around Bellevue with tons of blueberry. The parking is quite limit though. My boyfriend and I went there around end of June. There are tons of blueberries that are ready to be picked.

We spent about an hour this morning picking blueberries and walked away with about 4.5lbs of them.
If you want to pick this season though (summer 2015), I suggest getting out there soon. The blueberry bushes are really suffering due to the drought and heat, and a lot of them are burned out with desiccated blueberries. The blueberries which are still ok are ripe, but small and tart.

Growing up in the area, i really loved coming to the blueberry farm. You can pick blueberries here and walk around the winding trail! This isn’t a big place, i say about a nice 20 minute walk around the entire lake. When i was attending Sammamish High, i had my walking for fitness class and on i believe Tuesdays we would walk through the blueberry farm, through the greenbelt park and over to the ranger station. It was quite pretty walking around the lake. I personally love walking underneath the trees over at the south east end of the farm. There is also a swing on the farm for kids to swing in and a good family spot for picnics and making memories! But be mindful, this farm is close to a busy street that gets alot of traffic! Watch your kids very closely now. And if you don’t like the traffic noise then don’t worry because the further back you walk, the less noise you’ll hear. Have fun!

This is a great thing to do on the weekend! They provide a bucket for each member of your group. After you’ve picked as many blueberries as you want, they weigh it and you pay according to that. The price is very reasonable, especially considering how expensive blueberries can get in the grocery store. It’s only $ 1.50/pound! The farm is quite expansive (rows and rows of blueberry trees) and is relaxing on a warm summery day. I highly recommend this to anyone who loves blueberries and has some time to burn. Great for families too!

I’ve finally had the chance to come here and I can only say, go mid-​season when all the berries are out and all the trees are filled. It’s strange because they grow almost like popcorn; once they’ve had too much heat, they just pop and there’s no more.
It’s super inexpensive for 1 lb of blueberries; it’s probably about $ 10 for an entire bucket which is definitely over 5 lbs. The blueberries have a bit of tartness to them and is perfect for blueberry pancakes, jam, and pie!

A perfect Saturday afternoon picking blueberries certainly warrants a 5-​star review!
Getting started at the farm was super easy. Once of us registered, we picked up a couple of buckets and off we were! And almost immediately — oh-​so-​many blueberry bushes and such tart, juicy blueberries too! For the first 10 minutes or so, we were just eating the berries without bothering to collect them in the buckets (yes, we specifically checked that that is allowed!) And there is no dearth of blueberries — this is only the start of the season but there were so many bushes to choose from.
The blueberry bushes lead you to walk in a loop around the Larsen Lake, with a couple of nice spots here and there where you can sit down to enjoy a picnic by the lake. One such time we did so, we spotted a beautiful blue heron fly gracefully across the surface of the lake. After about two hours of picking, at which point were quite full with blueberries, we decided to call it a day and weigh our buckets. We had about 6 lbs of blueberries and we paid all but $ 10 for them!
Parking at the farm was a little tight and cars had to be parked in rows. A friend of mine whose car was blocking out another left his number on his car’s windshield so that he could be called when the other car needed to leave — this worked out really well for him!

This is such a great place to come pick blueberries, just to walk around the lake or even have a picnic. During blueberry season I brought my 1 year old almost every week pick blueberries. She had so much fun. In the off season we would walk around the lake and have picnics. It’s very beautiful. If you don’t want to pick yourself then they sell fruit already picked at a great price.

Blueberries are easily my favorite berries. Tart, sweet, easy to eat, easy to wash, good for baking. What’s not to love!
What I don’t love is how pricey they can be. Even when they are in season. I probably only say this because every time I go to Larsen Lake I pick out 5 lbs of blueberries for half the price I can buy it for at the grocery store.
When you get there you just ask for a bucket. Then, you head out to the field to start your berry picking! I usually ask the folks working there where the best area to start is. Once you’re out on the field you are free to pick with all the time in the world! Or until they close. You just pay for whatever you picked by the pound.
It’s generally a pretty popular site and it’s easy to find. Also, I’ve never had problem finding parking there either so that is a winner in my book.
Suggestions:
Wear comfy shoes. You will be trekking in grass and on dirt. Once you have paid, rinse them there and take it home to the fridge immediately! Or take them home to wash before putting them in the fridge. They’re probably pretty dirty from the dirt and insects. In fact, I had a couple spiders in my bunch last time.
It does take some work, but I think it is a fun experience and a worthwhile one at that!

Dreamy experience! Did not go there to pick up blueberries (I think the season is over, although I am not sure, this was my first time at a blueberry farm). I just wanted to feel the fresh air of Autum in the ‘countryside’ of Bellevue, as I am in the area only for a few days. Lovely free activity to do. Very nice walking around the lake, observing the red, ochres and greens of the trees and these blueberry plants growing. Nice thing to do both for kids or adults (very meditative if you go by yourself, a cool contemplative activity). I look forward to come back again and be able to pick my own blueberries (as I really love them!).

If you’re sitting home with kids on one of the five sunny days in the NW, jump in the mini-​van and head to Larsen Lake Blueberry Farm. I schlepped over a 10 yr old, a 6 yr old, twin 9 month olds and my wife from Sammamish this Sunday and everybody had a great time… and we were back in front of the TV in less than two hours. That’s got success written all over it.
The «Blueberry Lake» is right off of 148^th, which means you can get there fast from pretty much anywhere (520 or 90) on the Eastside, do your picking and get out before the kids start getting cranky. From the parking area you can walk a few feet and look for a couple berries on the always picked-​over bushes next to the barn or you can wander to the far corner and pillage the bushes that lazy people don’t bother with. The farm provides buckets for the kids and it’s incredibly cheap at $ 1.50/lb. We picked 3 lbs worth of berries in about an hour, and that’s with the kids chasing dragonflies, pointing at duck poop and everything else that kids do outside at a lake. «Lake» is a bit of a stretch (think large pond), but given the great time we had, I’ll let it fly.
Other thing to note is that there is a fruit/​veggie stand here you can hit up for more stuff, too. Produce was mixed (tomatoes, squash, potatoes, garlic, beans) and ranged from cheap to over-​priced.
Overall, it’s a great time if you’re looking for a family activity and it’s really cheap. Hell, I don’t even LIKE blueberries, but the kids were happy, so it was a win!

Hands down the best blueberry picking spot in Bellevue! We were there yesterday and spent about an hour picking and hauled home about 5 lbs! Homemade blueberry pies here I come!
The bushes are nicely spaced, there were many ripe berries to be had, make sure you start in the middle where the real mother load of berries lay. We didn’t run into any mosquitoes or blackberry sticker bushes lurking menacingly in the blueberry bushes.
For $ 1.5/lb, fresh air and some natural vitamin D, it’s a good deal! Also make sure you bring cash.

Great u-​pick blueberry farm! My boyfriend and I were looking for a place to pick berries and were pleasantly surprised to find this spot only 20 minutes from our Seattle neighborhood.
You’d never expect an awesome spot like this in the middle of Bellevue. The grounds are gorgeous — Larsen Lake is pretty and there’s plenty of room to explore in relative solitude. We went on a Sunday afternoon and while it was busy, it did not feel crowded at all. There was plenty of parking and we were able to walk right up and get our blueberry buckets. There were LOTS of berries! We picked three pounds and could have picked many more.
At $ 1.50 /​pound, it was a great deal for some delicious fruit & laid back fun. We also picked up some local produce while we were there (cantaloupe, green beans, apples, and fresh flowers). Total cost? About twenty bucks. Well worth it.

The Larsen Lake Blueberry Farm proved to be way more fun than I anticipated with an infant! My LO loved watching the blueberries fly into the bucket — tons of giggles!
This year, we made it over to the farm for the first day of the picking season and the staff was able to direct us to where we would be most likely to find some good blueberries. It really looked like «slim pickin’s» at the start, but once we got to the spot they recommended there were lots of ripe, sweet, delicious berries to pick! We didn’t even pick the bushes clean and we had lots of berries to take home! Added bonus, it’s really inexpensive compared to the little bins you can buy at the store — totally worth it!
Walking around the lake and along the paths is very pleasant too. It’s a bit noisy by the street, but by the time you’re near the water it’s really nice and more secluded. I’m sure that young children would get a kick out of picking ripe berries too — I’d even recommend this as a good daytime date for outdoorsy types!

I had not actually been to «blueberry lake» as we use to call larsen lake when we were kids growing up for years but decided to swing by. A bit too early for the blueberries to be complete, but the area was full of activity. The lake to lake trail circles around the north end of the lake and people were walking dogs, jogging and wqlking through out the trail. A nice dock extends into the lake for a great view of the ducks and birds that make this area their home.
Larsen Lake is beautiful on a nice sunny day or overcast. When taking pictures, the lake photographs as if you were at a huge lake in the mountains. One of my new favorite spots to go and take pictures or just relax and watch the lake, ducks and birds and have thoughts of blueberries ready to pick off the vine.
