Lee’s Tailor & Alteration

This is my favorite place to bring my alterations. Price is reasonable and Joanna is super sweet and nice.

I am so glad I found Lee’s Tailor & Alteration, thanks to Unilocal!Going here saved me over $ 100.
I had a chiffon bridesmaid dress that I needed shortened. After first going to a different tailor in Redmond who quoted me $ 145-​$ 175, I was worried it would cost me a fortune to get it hemmed. I decided to shop around and that’s when I found Lee’s shop. Joanna quoted me $ 40 plus tax to hem my dress, which contained multiple layers. What a deal! She was very kind and helped me get in out of my dress, which I couldn’t seem to do on my own thanks to the corset back. When I picked up my dress one week later, I was happy to see that the quality of the work was excellent. I can’t wait to wear my dress this week for the wedding!
Important note: The picture on Unilocal that shows her suite as 133 is out of date! She is now in a different suite, 170 I think it was. You can still ask the front desk person in suite 100 to direct you to her if you want. It’s better though just to go down the hallway on the right when you enter the building (yes, this is the opposite direction of suite 100). Eventually, you will see signs for Lee’s, pointing you to go farther down the hall.
Her shop may not look as fancy or upscale as other alteration stores, but the low price, friendly service, and great quality make her the best choice in my opinion.

Her shop is a little difficult to find for a new customer but the other tenants in the building knew who she was and happily walked me over to her side. Her unit # location isn’t clear and isn’t listed on the building directory. She told me she used to be located in the current Porsche dealership location but of course was relocated when they took over.
I’ve gotten pants and jackets altered so far have been OK with the quality, turn around time, and price. Coming from California, I was used to better quality, faster times, and cheaper prices but its Bellevue we are talking about so I’ll keep that in mind.
Its a small place, maybe 15×10 room. Just enough space to store other people’s clothes, a sweing machine, and small changing room. Cash only so don’t forget the moolah.
For some reference, shortening a jacket with a liner cost around $ 16.50. To shorten the sleeves on a winter peacoat was $ 28, and to hem pants was $ 12. Turn around time was met on the smaller jacket and pants but on a separate occasion, I came back on the day she told me to come and the jacket sleeve was halfway done. She said it would be done the next day. Despite taking down your phone number on the receipt, she never contacted me about the delay. Also, one sleeve was ever so slightly longer than the other sleeve, which I felt should be even given that I am paying for her professional skills to get them tailored. With that said, the quality of the work received was acceptable and I would still have her tailor my clothes because of prices and proximity to me. Unless something better comes along, she will continue to get my business!

Joanna is great! I’ve taken blazers, jeans, a trench coat, and even a bridesmaid dress to her and was impressed by her high quality and reasonable prices. The bridesmaid in particular would have cost nearly 4x as much if I had it altered at the store I purchased it from (a major bridal retailer). She closes at 6, which is usually enough time to allow me to get there after work, but she’s offered to stay a little later if I need extra time, which is super nice. Highly recommended!

Joanna is awesome! She can do anything and she does a great job at it. I definitely recommend her for anything. She’s super sweet and will try to accommodate you if you need your alteration done asap.

Been going to Joanna since 2005. Friendly and awesome service — even when we’ve needed things at the last minute. Always a smile and her alterations are perfection!!! We moved to Scottsdale but are coming home next month. We have a pile of clothes we’ll be bringing to her… The tailors in other cities we’ve lived don’t even compare!!! She’s amazing and family!!!

I am so thankful to find Lee’s Tailor. Joanna helped me repair a coat and a hat at a very reasonable price. The work was finished on-​time and she is a joy to work with. I’ll be back for sure. Her shop is inside the Lake Bellevue office building (#170), so don’t be confused when you try to find it.

High quality work, I’ve taken lots of pants here to get hemmed shorter. She’s usually pretty quick turnaround, often by the weekend if I drop it off on Wednesday. The only thing is that she only takes cash, which was a bit awkward the first time.

My friend had recommended Joanna a few years back. Today, I had a last minute emergency and Joanna quickly made the alteration for my dress. I was not able to pick it up at the time they closed and she dropped it off at my place. I will definitely go to Joanna for all my future alterations!

Joanna rocks. She does a great job and also gave me great advice on where I could buy clothes that might require less alteration.

Pros:
–The owner is really very nice, and very friendly. I wish I could say better things about the work because she really was very nice.
–The hours are good — open till 4pm Saturday.
–They offer delivery (not sure if there is a fee) in the surrounding area.
Cons:
–Of the 6 things I paid for, only 1 was done correctly-​I had to make 2 extra trips.
–The price changed from 10 $ when I called to 15 $ after I’d make the trip and been measured.
–2 out of 2 times the items were not ready upon pickup date, though on the second time the owner compensated by delivering later in the day.
Overall:
–I think if you have a really easy hem to do or something pretty simple, this place should be fine. If you have a longer hem (wider leg pants) then it may end up crooked on each leg, and/​or the legs may be different lengths.
I was encouraged by the great reviews to go here. I called and was quoted 10 $ to hem pants so I went in on a saturday to do 4 pairs of pants and to add button holes to 2 other garments. I was happy to hear the price for the button holes (5 $). Then I was surprised to learn that the price for the pants had magically gone up to 15 $ during the 20 minutes since I called!!! I asked why and was told that they were bigger hems than usual (palazzo pants). Only 2 of the 4 actually were bigger, but I didn’t feel like arguing for a total of 10 $ and figured if I’d found a good tailor then no biggie.
She said to pick them up Thursday. I called Thursday and asked if they were done, and if I could pick up Friday instead. She said they were done and sure.
So I went Friday, and to my surprise THEY WERENT DONE!!! After taking time off from work to go there I was pretty annoyed that I had to wait for her to finish a job she said she’d finished the day before.
Fast forward to me getting home. The button holes were only ¾ inch long, so the buttons didn’t fit. Awesome. Then I put on the pants. On one pair, one leg was almost a full inch longer than the other!!! On another pair, it was the other leg and a half inch. Third pair had legs that themselves were uneven, the outsides were more than an inch longer than the insides and dragged on the floor. Definitely wasn’t my shoes or legs, since they were all uneven in different ways.
I went back in and the owner argued that the pants were not uneven saying «it’s your leg!» Yeah, if one of my legs was 1 inch longer than the other I think I (and my doctor) would know. ¼ inch sure, 1 inch, I dont think so. Plus, both pant legs were measured at drop-​off, so even if they were uneven, the hems should have still been right!
So I spent another week waiting without 3 pairs of work pants, hoping that they’d be fixed by my pickup date and wishing I didn’t have to take off work for a 4^th time to pick them up. Sadly, when I went the second time to pick them up (at the agreed upon time) they weren’t even started, much less done. This would have been the final straw that knocked me down to 1 star but the owner quickly volunteered to deliver them to my work this evening, so I just that «cancels out» the wasted trip.
I really wish I’d had a better experience, because the owner really is sweet. But I can’t afford to have to go someplace 50 times, and for dress pants, I need the legs to be the same length.

I read the great reviews on Unilocal and decided to take my bridesmaid dress to Lee’s to beg them to alter it for a wedding 3 days later (I was out of the country, don’t judge). I guess her name is Joanna, but she measured me so quickly, I was freaked out she was going to screw it up. She was able to alter the dress in 2 days and steam it and it fit absolutely wonderfully. AND, she only charged me $ 25+tax. I am so grateful that she came through in a crunch and I will definitely use her again in the future.

Lee’s tailer is a family owned business in Bellevue. I brought in a pair of dress slacks that needed a button, she charged me a $ 1 and I got it back in less than an hour. I’ll probably be bringing more clothes that need to be altered or worked on here. Very resonable for being in Bellevue. Oh yeah… its straight cash-​money homey, only here.

I’ve gone to Lee’s Tailer & Alternations to shorten several pairs of jeans and slacks. These items always turn out great. I did bring in a dress once to fix which didn’t turn out quite perfectly but was acceptable. All in all, Joanne the owner does decent work for a reasonable price. She’s upfront when she can get the work done and if you need the item earlier she’ll try to fit it in her schedule.
Note she’s a one person shop and does everything from doing the actual work to bookkeeping to taking phone calls. Cash only.

We have been coming here for hella long. It’s just up the street from the pad so it’s mad convenient. The lady that works here is very attentive to what you want done but sometimes it’s hit or miss when it comes time for your scheduled pick up so make sure you call first and give yourself some extra time. I think it’s cause she does rush jobs sometimes and that might push regular jobs out a bit. She sends out for dry cleaning so that’s outta her control. I’m always happy with her alterations and so is most of my fam too.
