Wow! Living without ‘deli’ is difficult! We live in Hawaii!(I know it’s rough, eh?). This deli is German and totally authentic! Noticed a true, steady stream of customers! Owners are earthy, warm and wonderful!

A pleasant surprise, poorly advertised but friendly, clean and authentic. They encourage customers to sample the cheeses and sausages before purchase, and I was so pleased to learn they have delicious Brezelbroetchen on Th-Sat. I will be back!

Such a delightful lunch spot! I don’t work too far away and when I heard my coworkers raving about this place I knew I had to try it. First impressions: It’s adorable. It feels authentic. I love the cheesy murals on the wall and the Oom-pah music playing in the background. The people who work there are friendly and welcoming. I was excited for the food and it met my expectations. Had fun browsing the German groceries while I waited and even picked myself up a German chocolate bar! Suggestions: Get the wunderbar sandwich on a pretzel roll! Yum! I also picked up a chicken-filled pastry which was fresh out of the oven and so delicious that I ate it in the car before I even made it back to my office… oops.

Absolutely wonderful lunch. I had the Wonder Bar sandwich and then I split some baked potato salad and German potato salad they were both excellent but I give the edge to the German potato salad just by a smidgen. very pleasant staff I highly recommend

Simple, delicious sandwiches reminiscent of the brown bagged lunches packed in middle school.

My German teacher at Bellevue College recommended this place and I was not disappointed. I love coming here on lunch and getting the Wunderbar sandwich. They’ve got a ton of different meats, breads, and prepared side dishes/salads. Very cute, very worth the trip in.

Sorry to say we were disappointed with the food from this abundant deli. First of all, the deli has a tremendous amount of German meats and various cheeses, as well as a collection of Bavarian staples in the grocery that is part of the deli. We ordered two lunch items — pastrami and Swiss on Rye, and a Bratwurst sans sauerkraut. Our orders were promptly taken in the light lunch business. Service was attentive and friendly. The biggest disappointment was the food. The sandwich was nearly absent of the pastrami and served on a bed of ultra dry and dense rye bread. Tough to stomach! The brat was hot and well seasoned, but served on a roll baked by Mrs. Hindenburg. Dry and tough to chew. Our meal was eaten at one of the four or five tables in the brightly lit«dining area.» Unfortunately it was served on a cloth tablecloth that had seen it’s past patrons. The tomato soup look good from the spillage!

99.9% of the quality of a sandwich is based on the pride or love the sandwich maker puts into it. This is why shitty bologna sandwiches made by your mom are great, because your mom loves you. The guy at Liebchen takes 100% pride in his sandwiches, so you know they’re going to be good(good ratios of meat and cheese, good placement of tomatoes and lettuce, not too much or too little or anything), but they also use very fresh produce, completely authentic German cold cuts and super high quality bread. It’s a sandwich, not the cure for cancer or a 14 course tasting menu, but it’s a really great sandwich. And the service is awesome too. Plus, it’s a mini-European grocery store.(I didn’t really check out the groceries, so read other reviews on that score.) The prices are fair too. So, let’s review: Fair prices, great service, high quality ingredients, put together with pride. It doesn’t get any better than this in the deli game.

Very cozy little place with super friendly people, great selection of German meat and groceries. We went there of lunch once and they served great sandwiches and soup. We also asked if they had cocoa(hot chocolate). They did not have it in a menu buy the owner made it to order and brought whole pot for us to enjoy.

Liebchen Delicatessen is an absolute gem! The cold cuts and meat case alone would be enough to draw me back in time and time again. But noooo, they have to add in a bunch of extras and make it one of my fav Bellevue spots! What constitutes as fabulous in my book today: * A lovely mini grocery store with loads of European goodies(Loen mustard, Haribo gummies, licorice herring, etc.) * Great deli with amazing sandwiches and salads(just like grandma used to make!) They use authentic Bavarian cold cuts, real quality bread and they don’t skimp on the meat and cheese! * Friendly and patient staff(go on, ask them all the questions you want!) * Oompa music! Not something one gets to hear everyday. But it just adds that extra special touch to the Liebchen Delicatessen dining experience. * Honest to goodness hometown corner deli atmosphere. Feel truly welcomed and right at home once you’ve taken your first bite of that Liebchen goodness! Great for a quick bite or a leisurely lunch! So go ahead, browse the deli case and the grocery shelves a few extra minutes. Try a sample of the Black Forest Ham. Find the perfect little spot in the dining area to sit back, relax and savor the moment. That first bite of an authentic German sandwich made with love is incredible! What would make my lunch even better next time? To share the experience with friends! This is definitely the kind of place to be enjoyed both solo and with the pack! Also kind of wish they had a little pickled herring to go with my sandwich as a side dish.

I just discovered this delightful deli. Five stars for real, imported Schwarzwaldschinken, thinly sliced and piled high on a fresh, crusty roll. This is the real thing. Black Forest Ham in the U.S. is typically just a slight variation on regular, cooked/cured ham. But this salty, smokey goodness takes me back to Bavaria. And they are nice people too.

Finally went here this week and it made my belly smile! The store moved from its old location in Lake Hills to a new spot off Northrop Way a while ago. Its got a few tables to sit and offers some German products for sale like sauerkraut and spatzle. The real star is the selection of meats from Bavarian Meats and all of the yummy sandwich possibilities. From sausages to salami’s to ham and roast beef you could eat there for a month and not even come close to trying everything. They also had good salad options like German style potato salad and a yummy deli meat salad with mayo that I had not seen anywhere before. They even include a small bag of homemade potato chips with your order! Definitely worth checking out!

Liebchen Delicatessen was one of the tenants that was displaced when most of Lake Hills Shopping Center was demolished. It did not seem like any of the small businesses kicked out of that complex had much time to look for a new location. Fortunately, Liebchen was able to stick in Bellevue. And their new location is arguably better than their old home of 41 years. Yes, this deli has been in business for over 4 decades! The ownership has changed, but it continues to serve as a great place to find European(primarily German) deli meats, cheese and groceries. And most importantly is the only German deli on the Eastside. The new location is in the Overlake area. It is down the street from Fred Meyer and in an building just south of Ross. The space is bigger and brighter. There are a couple tables outside the store for al fresco dining as well as seating inside the store. The atmosphere is quite relaxed and leisurely. It seemed like dine in customers eat their meals first, prior to paying. Contrary to the usual pay first setup that you would expect given the casual setting. As a result of having more space, the selection of groceries is noticeably larger than before. And they have a nice selection of fresh German breads(including pretzel rolls!) in front that you can pick up here. I got their lunch special to go which is your choice of half sandwich and a bowl of soup for $ 6.75. I got the Wunderbar sandwich with goulash. Wunderbar consists of beerwurst, bologna, salami and butter cheese. At first it seemed kind of small, but then you notice that they put a good deal of meat inside. It is a tasty sandwich in which the meat is the star. The goulash portion is generous and was double wrapped to prevent spillage. It is not as much of a soup as a stew as there was not a whole lot of liquid in it. Instead, it was full of cabbage, tomatoes and sausage. It is quite the hearty eat and is a meal on its own. I was eyeing the pretzel rolls($ 1.35) while I was waiting for my meal, so I decided to grab one to go. It was deliciously chewy. I topped the pretzel roll with some Nutella. I know that is not a traditional topping, but it did help to counteract the saltiness of the roll. Happy to see that this German deli has not moved too far away. I think this new location is actually a good thing because it is in a more frequented part of Bellevue which should be better for business.

Wonderful ambience and extremely friendly staff, as well as a great selection of leberwursts and German meats and sausages. They were out of the Butterkäse when I was there, so I guess I’ll have to go back. ;) I had one of their Wunderbar sandwiches while I was there, which was okay, although the rye bread was a bit dry for my taste. So great to have a local German deli, though, even if I’d rather build my own sandwich from the meats and cheeses.

Closed! I went by to pick up some authentic German cuisine and instead, the entire complex was closed and under demolition!!! No notice or forwarding address! :( I’m only left with one question. Where did my sausage go!!!

Gelbwurst, bierwurst, mortadella, liverwurst, & so many more… OH, MY! Soups, cheeses, other delicacies, candies, chocolates, jams & jellies, condiments… LOTS of fun stuff here! I’ve wanted to go check this place out for a while now and I was not disappointed when we stepped in the other day. I started admiring the candies, cookies and jams when I first walked in and my husband was beside me seeming a little bored so I reminded him about the meats and then his mood changed instantly as he chimed off lots of the different varieties here. And, to make his day even sweeter, they offer samples of anything they can cut! After his first taste, and hardly any coaxing from me, he chose a sandwich to order because he was so impressed with the meat. My husband had the«Wunderbar» and he really enjoyed it – he had a whole one and ate all of it even though we just had lunch at another place! It was that good! I didn’t have anything, but I’d definitely go back when hungry to try some of their stuff… and to find some sweets to take home too :) The staff is super friendly and seemed to know a lot of the customers by name. They even chatted with us first-timers for a while making us feel very welcome in their shop. I’m very pleased we finally checked this place out and I know we’ll be back!
