Descent place for craft items. When not on sale, prices are too steep.

I think Michael’s has a great selection of crafts, but their customer service is terrible. I had to go around the store to find someone to help me and when I finally did, the lady sort of yelled at me like I was stupid and expected me to know where the items were. Then on top of that, she gave me the wrong aisle numbers so I had to wander around the store for over 45 minutes looking for them. I stopped and asked about 3 other workers for help, and none of them bothered to guide me to the right aisle. I work in retail so I know how it’s like to have customers ask a lot of questions, but never once have I disrespected a customer.

This just seems like a weird set-​up. I had never been to this store. We parked and then walked to the store, only to find out that we had parked behind the store. It was just not oriented very well. Anyway, things just kind of seemed hard to find, but we were able to find help. We had a very nice cashier who helped us with our coupon apps. Nice store, overall.

Michael’s is my go-​to craft supply store. They have just about everything I need. And I like this location because it’s across the street from JoAnn Fabrics, so if I can’t find something at Michael’s, I can check right next door.
I’ve also have never had a problem with customer service here either. They’re usually friendly and helpful.

Had to run in for a picture frame and found just what I was looking for. Only problem was that there is so much to look at its easy to get distracted and spend more money. Not enough cashiers and hate to wait in a pretty long line which is why they got 4 stars.

WARNING! The frame shop at Michaels is the worst ever. Just had a water color picture reframed. 1^st off, it took 2 weeks time to get it framed. When I wen’t to pick it up, there was no one at the counter. I pushed the help button, and waited. Pushed it a second time, waited. Finally I walk around the back wall to where they do the framing. What do you know?! There’s 2 workers standing around chatting. When I finally get my picture, the glass is smudgy dirty on BOTH the outside, and inside. The clerk said I could leave it and return tomorrow. Needless to say, I’m taking the frame part myself and cleaning it myself, so know my time won’t be wasted and the job will be done right. Also didn’t want to re-​deal with the clerks there, who both had a real snarky attitude. We have always used Ben Franklin in Redmond for all our framing needs. Will NEVER return to Michaels for framing or any thing else in the future. be Franklins where it’s at for you framing and craft needs. Horrible customer service. If you’re the kind of person that gets off on being treated like crap by underwhelming, disrespectful, and cranky employees, then this is the store for you! But if you’re like the rest of us who like employees who will ring you up with a polite smile, take your money happily, and try to be helpful — you’ll have to shop else where because you’re sure as heck not going to get that here.
I’d rather give up crafting than return here.

this place is pretty good, only bad part is asking someone who works there where a certain item is and they have no idea. And they tell you to look between a couple isles. they have a large selection. Bit over priced on some items

No one ever smiles in this store! I feel like I am a burden every time it ask for assistance. It’s disorganized, rude, and uneducated. I will support the local stores over yet ANOTHER cookie-​cutter corporate store. I can get cheap plastic crap anywhere and I would rather give my money to people who actually care, or buy online.

I’m rating it three stars simply because it has the basics and you can always use the daily coupon. However the selection is very poor for craft supplies. This Michael’s would be perfect if all you needed was frames or floral arrangements for your dust bunnies to live in.
Specifically the Heidi Swapp and Project Life sections are always skimpy even when they first stock. I always leave disappointed.

Weekend lines are treacherous. Go during the week.
Yet, this location is mysterious to me, and I am always confused. There are check out stands in two completely different locations in this Michaels and the lines are always stacked up at the front stands. Further, there is no definitive «line» pattern at the front stands because there are way too many last-​minute bins to identify what register you’re supposed to commit to. Thus, the one line gets backed up down into the scrapbooking aisle. I’ve deduced the bin strategy is a way to get people to spend more money; heck, I’ve even fallen into this trap myself. Get stuck waiting, buy more from the bins. Great. Just great.
Depending on what I need on my list, I go back and forth between this Michaels and the one in Kirkland. Each time I think one has the leg up on the other, I find reason to discount its reputability in my mind… and so the vicious circle goes.

AVOID THE FRAME DEPARTMENT!!! My husband dropped off a painting here, and we were shocked with the price, so later in the same day I called to let them know not to start because we decided to take it to Jo-​Ann for half the price. Within a week my husband went to pick it up and drop it off at Jo-​Ann. Later, I was looking at my credit card report and saw that they charged us for the frame and never refunded it, so I called them up again to find out that we would have to come to the store again to get refunded. It is rediculous that no one let my husband know when he picked it up that they needed to see his CC to do the refund. Also, both times I attempted to call them, I ended up on hold forever for the frame department and had to recall to keep getting reconnected to the frame department. One of the worst customer service experiences I have ever experienced. I am just hoping I actually get my refund with no further difficulty when I attempt to visit the store for my refund in the next couple weeks.
RIP OFF & POOR SERVICE!

I signed up for a November cake decorating class back in October. On the day of the class, I got a call and was told that I was the only one who signed up, it was postponed a week so they could get more students. The 2^nd week, I called to check if the class was going to happen. After being on hold for an hour, I was told the class was on. When I went to the store that night, the instructor got into an accident and the class was canceled. (She was not injured. We were told to go back the 3^rd week.) When I went back the 3^rd week, we were told the class was canceled, we should take the December class. The first day of the December class, a whole group of us waited for over 45 minutes while the instructor talked to the store people. The following week, she wasn’t even there. We waited for over 30 minutes only to find out that the class was canceled and the instructor didn’t bother to call us. This week, I went to the class only to find out the class was permanently canceled since the instructor quit. I was told to get refunded when I had my receipt.
Now, through all of this, the Michaels people were extremely UNHELPFUL. They don’t know who signed up for the class even though I signed up for the class in the store. They don’t call and notify us anything. They are completely clueless.
Today when I went to get the refund, even though the cashier didn’t flat out refuse, she wasn’t exactly helpful either. She kept on questioning me why I wanted a refund, pointing out the receipt has expired (their 60 day return policy! It’s not my fault that I didn’t get the class more than 60 days after I signed up!), making stupid statements like I didn’t have any material to return (They didn’t give me anything other than a receipt for the class, what material could I possibly return!!!), then she tried to refund me less money than I paid for. At this point, I got very frustrated, and raised my voice a little bit to complain. (I wasn’t yelling or anything. I even said I know it’s not her fault, but it IS Michaels’ fault!) However, not only was she not apologetic, she had the audacity to cut me off and tell me to calm me and not take it out on her! Isn’t this all Michaels’ fault? Isn’t she a representative of Michaels?!
Through it all, no one ever apologized, not even the manager!
I will spare you other little incidents while I shopped for class materials in the store. I think this is the worst customer service ever. They don’t care about their customers at all. I had to make other arrangements for my kids so that I could take the class, and after driving over, only to find out the class was canceled almost EVERY time!
I’m never going back to Michaels ever again! Stay away, buy your stuff elsewhere! They don’t care about your business.

Very many crafting supplies tons of rainbow looms, but the price can be really high. the service is okay once a lady was extremely helpful and another time I asked for this thin string and they gave me this thick chunky stuff. Overall I love it and I come here a lot.

MASSIVE Goodness… for the crafting junkie!
You walk in, that BOOM, it’s like a visual overload… aisles and walls, all covered in creativity and what… it’s all stacked up ready for the taking.
You must be asking yourself, after reading this next section in quotes «Why is this fine and manly man, going to a Michaels?» I would answer, because «I was sent here for work.» I was sent here on a mission, to find the ultimate awesomeness which was rubber stamps for a event… bouncer style stamps.
And behold, an entire side of an aisle COVERED in stamps, stamp pads, stamp making tools, stamp ink, stamp rollers, stamp plastic cutouts, stamp sets, stamp sets. did I mention they have stamps. yup I was literally overwhelmed. but wait!!!
Walking down the walkway, just answering questions like a muse of Athenian heritage, she was throwing it down, and when I got my answer out into the air, like a balloon, she took it, and just make it into a balloon animal, in goodness and knowledge.
I walked out with stamps for work, and a newfound appreciation for the crafting people that I felt square to their perfect circles.

Writing a pissy review as I’ve been waiting over 45 mins in the custom framing department. The female employee let someone cut the line (apparently they had been around earlier, but they aren’t standing in the line like the rest of us, are they? — not OK)
Update: My visit lasted over 2 hours, thanks to glitches in their finicky, poor quality system. I want to gouge my eyes out at the overall failure here. Gaaah!

This location is HUGE. Which is exactly why I made the extra trip from Kingsgate out there. I needed some baking supplies and I knew the one in Juanita Village didn’t have it. This place had about 2x as much supplies by Wilton and lucky for me all of it was BOGO and I had the APP coupon. If you dont have the app you have to get it. Good bye coupon clipping!
I was looking for a specific cookie cutter set and when I didn’t see it I asked. The sales lady actually told me to go next door to Joann fabric. REALLY? But aren’t they just fabric? lol.
I couldn’t have spent a good portion of my day in here but I was on a mission to get in and get out.

Fully staffed and very helpful here. I always find what I need here for any craft I may be working on.

Here’s what I LOVE about this place: it seems there is ALWAYS a sale on pretty much whatever I’m looking for: D Today I went in to get some frames for oddly sized pictures (and Michael’s does have a GREAT selection of frames) and I thought they were going to be $ 15 each but they were a part of a 40% off sale so I ended up getting each frame for under $ 8! Score!
Another reason I love this spot — they have a GREAT selection of art supplies (and everything else!). They have supplies for paints, pencil, pastel, etc. Wonderful! They have a really large selection of yarn (for knitting types) and lots of craft items for small children and generally have seasonal items on a sale even before the holiday they items are for (Easter items are on sale pre-​Easter!). Lots of scrap-​booking items, baking items (including lots of decorative items), faux flowers, etc. etc. etc.
Bonus: it smells good in the shop too ;)
I haven’t really needed help with anything in the store before so I can’t really speak (er, type) to how helpful employees are. The ladies at the register are always friendly (I have not ever checked out with a male cashier here). When we did a custom framing here (60% off and an additional $ 10 off — WIN!), the employee who assisted us was helpful and even recommended some good matting colors to facilitate our final decision. The custom framed piece only took 2 weeks to complete and it was really well done too.
I haven’t attended any of the classes offered here, but I have seen them in action at times. They always look like positive events.
Definitely a good store if you’re into crafts!

Easy to shop, usually it’s pretty clean and stocked well. The cashier line can get pretty long and they are slow to check people out, but o’well. You get what you need, and there are coupons in the Sunday paper!
