Super bomb breakfast burritos and a great price– especially for Bellevue.

Ooba is good. They’re usually really fast and their burritos and salsa are pretty good. I usually get a chicken burrito or steak burrito, and I’ve had the breakfast burrito and potato burrito. Of the three, my absolute favorite is the breakfast burrito because it most closely resembles what I expect in a really delicious, no-compromises burrito. Burritos should never have lettuce(especially fancy lettuce — like kale or whatever). They tend to have too much beans and rice and not enough meat, cheese, and sour cream(aka: the holy trinity). That said, they use quality ingredients, and they have a lot of options, so it’s definitely worth trying. My only real complaint is that sometimes the beans aren’t all-the-way cooked… Which pretty much ruins it. So… here’s my California-comparison: My credentials include going to to college in San Diego. The one thing I can never find is a good, down-home carne asada California burrito. At my local burrito shop(Señor Pancho — a converted Wienerschnitzel building with a drive thru), their California burrito was meat, cheese, sour cream, guacamole, and french fries. If that sounds amazing, it is. They don’t even have carne asada or pollo asado at Ooba… The steak is good, but it’s not quite the same. The chicken is also tasty, but it’s «fresher» and less heavy. I’ve also had an amazing potato burrito at a place called El Cotixcan… which was just potatoes, cheese, and sour cream. Sounds dumb and simple, but it was freakin’ great. The Ooba potato burrito has black beans and romaine lettuce in it. I’m sorry, but it was gross(really, just not my thing).

Overpriced and the food is not as good as other Mexican places. Also I got bloated the couple of times I ate here.

Its a great mexican place for the price! I visit this place frequently and always order bollywood burrito. Vegeterians should definitely try it. Their salsas are also very good. Habenero salsa is my favorite. They also serve chips with every entrée. The service is also fast.

Don’t request any extra meats or cheeses on your meal. Tried twice now and they just ignore it in the kitchen but they’ll definitely remember at the register. This place should be three stars not four anyways.

Good food, but a little overpriced for the value.

So, I have a little game I like to play when reading Unilocal reviews for a Mexican restaurant. It’s a little messed up, but also hilarious: pull up ANY Local Mexican restaurant, search for ‘California’ in the reviews, and you will find tons of reviews involving some permutation of «being from California», «I went to school in California», «I lived in California for a summer» followed by an extremely detailed and condescending description of what Mexican food should be like. It’s hilarious. Californians. WEGETIT. Our Mexican food is, for lack of better words, complete shit compared to your options, but that doesn’t mean we don’t know what good food tastes like. We understand the difference between juicy steak and questionable bits of crap on a ‘taco’ for $ 10. Trust. With that being said, graded on the curve that is Seattle/Bellevue this is a pretty good option for what it is. The salsas are yummy, the meats always moist, and they even serve booze. It’s close to my work, and I never leave disappointed. Californians, WHATMORECANWEGIVE?!? *standing outside of your window with a boombox*

Victim of their own success I am afraid. I have gone here for many years and recently(past few months) the quality has gone down hill. I’m not sure what has changed but the food has not had them same richness of flavor. I assume this is because they are changing for where the source their ingredients and the quality has suffered. Either way it is not as good as it once was. I will give it another month or two before trying again. Edited…(downgraded from 3 Stars to 2 Stars) So I went back today thinking I needed to order something other than one of my standard items(normally I have Chicken Tacos or Chicken Quesadilla). Today I ordered the Chicken Burrito. Also bland(ok I know all three are chicken but it used to be amazing). To make matters worse the burrito was obviously built by someone that has no idea what a Burrito should be… the first thing I noticed was that one end was cold and the other end was heavier and hot. I decided to open the burrito and found… a scoop of all rice at one end, then a scoope of chicken next, then beans, then salsa. Fortunatly I was able to to remix the insides and it helped, but nothing but salt could overcome the blandness. Sorry Ooba Tooba… you lost me.

The ingredients were a little bunched up, most rice at the bottom. But a very good burrito. I will eat here again.

Can’t get enough of their chicken burrito! So delicious. Mostly fresh ingredients. Best part is their fresh salsa bar. I love the habanero salsa! Chopped Jalepenos & chopped onions also. Very fast & friendly service. Little high on $prices$ for burritos, close to $ 10 but it’s Bellevue, Wa what do u expect as rent is high!

I usually take the skirt steak burrito for take out. Burrito is decent quality and the salsa is great. The food is really overpriced. Sure you cater to lots of Microsoft employees but the rest of us who work in downtown are not as high up on the pay scale ladder. I here similar comments from co workers. You really shouldn’t keep raising the prices by a dollar every year.

I ate here for lunch and really liked it. The flank steak tacos were delicious and had a lot of flavor. The service was good and the atmosphere was fun.

Love the chipotle pork burrito – comes with small pieces of pork instead of shredded(not a big fan of shredded). Will have to try the grilled salmon.

Pretty good lunch spot. The beer battered cod tacos were good except the sauce/toppings they have on it makes the fried part of the fish all soggy :/prices were reasonable unless you get the skirt steak! It jumps up to $ 17 for a bigger burrito compared to less than $ 13 for other meats. Also the bigger burritos they serve are not ones you can hold up with your hands. It has some sauce and cheese over it. No biggie, just FYI. Plus I like the melted cheese on top. Parking: There is a lot of it behind the front of the shop!

Always good food and great customer service. The prices are a bit high but it’s definitely delicious. I love the women that take my order. Super friendly and kind. Recommend steak tacos. Also, they have a salsa bar.

Just went here for lunch for the first time today and felt compelled to write a review. Honestly, it was between here and Taco del Mar… and I wish I would have gone there. I like that they had a couple veggie options and I went for the potato burrito. So disappointed. How hard is it to mess up potato’s, let alone pre-cut fries(which, I think were previously frozen)? The burrito was cold to the touch and really wet, with all the lettuce and crema in the shell. Granted, I got my meal to go, but there should be a little heat left after a less than 5 minute walk back to the office. Aside from the spice in the crema, there was no other flavors added. I’ve had better potato burritos from Taco Bell. There is no seasoning on the fries, they were starchy and chewy, like they weren’t even fried at all. I wouldn’t recommend this burrito. The chips that came in the bag… stale, cold, unseasoned. This is in the restaurant while I’m waiting for my co-worker to get his food. While the salsa bar is a nice detail, no salsa can save this burrito or chips. At least they are fast, but based on this experience, I will probably not return.

Look, if you’re going to put french fries in your burritos, you’re automatically going to become my FAVORITE lunch stop in Bellevue. Good heavens, this place is AMAZING. Fast, convenient, affordable, and tasty! I was a little unsure when my colleagues first told me that Ooba’s was the best place around, because the place is a chain and was super crowded. But I was very quickly won over the minute I stepped inside and saw that they have a burrito on the menu with FRENCHFRIES(it’s the Beef Tinga). Have I died and gone to heaven? And it’s just as delicious as it sounds. Dripping with sauces and oils, every bite is a moment of heaven. I get it without the sour cream, so it’s a bit on the spicier side, which I like. It comes with a small side of chips, and you can choose your own salsa from the salsa bar. They don’t skimp on the size of this burrito, either. I probably shouldn’t eat the entire thing… but I totally do. They have a pretty good system going. You can either order ahead and pick it up, or you can order on site, give them your name and first initial of your last name, and your order is ready within minutes. Even on the busiest days, I have been in and out in 10 minutes or less. Ridiculously good.

YUMM! Ooba Tooba is one very popular place to get lunch in Downtown Bellevue for a great reason, it is fresh, high quality food served quick. This place moves the line very quick, so if you see a line during your lunch break, rest assured that you will not have to wait to long. Prices are a bit higher then competitors, but the quality is there. They have a great free salsa bar that has a variety of options available. The nachos are a large serving size with a decent amount of meat toppings. Soda’s are $ 1.50 each(fountain) which is not a horrible price, when you compare it to around $ 3.00 served by Red Robin. The staff is friendly and hardworking. Credit cards are accepted and they have a loyalty program for frequent guests through LevelUp *payment provider* at the register when linked to a credit card and your smart phone. Overall this is a good place to go if you are in Bellevue and want a good meal.

Really disappointed here for $ 12 on the Ooba’s Grilled Chicken Plate, i was expecting more than 8 little pieces of chicken. The vegetables(squash and carrots) were basically raw(very VERY crunchy) and honestly, the best part of the meal was the white sauce on the beans. Salsa bar looks nice, but they go from a flavorless medium salsa to an über hot Habanero that also has no flavor, just sets your mouth on fire for 20 seconds. The only reason they get 2 stars is for speed of service, they really move through a lot of people quick, but take an extra minute or two and make sure the veggies are at least KINDOF cooked.
