If Pasta Ya Gotcha is still at this address, it is obviously not on the ground level anymore. It is possible that it is in the MS café in Bravern 1. But the website seems to indicate that it is a restaurant, and this would just be a stand pretty much. I have seen Pasta Ya Gotcha’s at other MS cafeterias, so maybe. Word to the wise, all MS cafes are private, only MS folk and their guests can get in.

I tried to find this location today but was unsuccessful. I think they must have closed up business here.(I’ve been working on the same block for a couple of months and havent been able to actually find it.) Really wish I could find it since I love their Texas Tiajuana Taco Penne.

Fast food pasta chain, but it’s good. There aren’t many places near where I work in downtown Bellevue where you can get a reasonably healthy/tasty lunch entrée for $ 5.75 so I’m giving it a higher rating than I might if it were located somewhere else. Naturally they have vegetarian options. In addition to the normal Italian-style pasta choices, they also have Thai peanut pasta, BBQ flavored pasta, etc. Part of the other reason I’m rating it more highly than I might otherwise is the staff. The person I’m assuming was the owner was a friendly Indian man who was sitting at a table hanging out with a customer when I came in. He seemed to know all the people who were in the place when I came in and they seemed to be regulars. Besides the normal menu of the chain, they also offer breakfast entrees and Indian food. I was given warm fresh bread which didn’t appear to be part of the chain’s menu either. It’s pretty rare that I go into a chain restaurant and receive noteworthy service and/or see any deviation from the chain’s normal menu. There’s a little parking lot in the back but most of the spots seemed to be full other than the ones with limited time periods, so if you don’t work within walking distance it’s probably better to get it to go. It’s all mostly designed to be to go anyway.

If you like your pasta to taste like something you’d find in the frozen food section of a supermarket, this place is for you. For anyone else looking for even decent tasting pasta, don’t even think about heading here. They do have a relatively wide selection of pastas; but most are just slight variations of the same thing. The prices are reasonable. The people are friendly. The location is… weird. It’s in the bottom floor of the building on the northwest corner of NE8th St. and 112th Ave. I happen to work a couple blocks away, so walking works for me, but there’s not much for parking if you’re driving. So, as Julia Z. says, if you’re looking for an alternative to your regular Subway lunch, you might give this a shot; but if you’re looking for some decent pasta, you should look elsewhere.

I discovered Pasta Ya Gotcha after reading Julia Z.‘s review( Unilocal at its finest!) when I was trying to figure out where to eat close to my apartment. So I decided to give it a try for lunch. It took me a while to ponder the menu to figure out what I wanted to try first. Everything sounded very good but decided to play it safe and get the Thai Peanut. If the other dishes are as good at this, I will definitely be filling up my punch card! The staff was very friendly and helpful. They recognized that I had not been there before(probably due to my 5 minutes staring blankly at the menu) and offered suggestions. The serving size was perfect, got full just as I was taking the last bite. They have ample room to sit inside, or there is plenty of outdoor seating around the block. My only complaint is that they aren’t open on the weekends as I am rarely around my apartment during lunch on weekdays. Although sitting in a primarily business district, their reasoning is sound. Overall, it is a very nice alternative to the typical lunch options and I look forward to exploring their menu!

I had the Texas Tijuana Penne and it was really good, a great change from Subway(again!) The ground chicken and fresh vegetables mean that it was actually basically healthy, and at $ 5.75, it’s affordable. Best of all, you can use a Pasta Ya Gotcha punch rewards card there(they’ll give it to you, and you can leave it there in their Rolodex) and every tenth meal is free. The people are friendly, and the restaurant is clean, should you decide to eat there. In addition to a pretty broad selection of pastas, they have breakfast sandwiches and basics like scrambled eggs, and they also offer soup and sandwiches at lunchtime.
