Stephen P Markus, MD

I first saw Dr. Markus a number of years ago, on the advice of a good friend. I’ll be honest, he is just the nicest doctor that I’ve ever talked to in my life, and he helped me to get through post-​partum depression, when no one else could. He is so caring and helpful, and has a great way of explaining the big picture of a person’s options/​choices for medications and such. I hadn’t seen him for a few years, only because I prefer to see a female for general healthcare stuff. I recently returned to him for some help with a medical issue, and as before, he was great. He has an incredible ability to be super-​professional without any coldness whatsoever; he seems genuinely interested in helping people, which, after all, is what a doctor is supposed to do, right? He gets my highest recommendation… totally worth driving to Bellevue for, even if you don’t live in the area!

I’ll be honest: I haven’t had a regular family doctor so can’t really compare to other physicians. Regardless, I am sold.
I visited Dr. Markus because of several recommendations – one from a co-​worker of mine from the Puget Sound area who has his entire family under Dr. Markus’ care.
When I think of doctors I get a little intimidated; Dr. Markus is the opposite. His speech and warm professionalism made me feel very comfortable.
I’ll update if I have any negative experiences here, but so far very good. The receptionist staff is really friendly and were very courteous on the phone. All new patient forms are available online so you can fill them out and bring them with you so that you don’t spend 15 minutes at your first appointment filling out paperwork.
