Alright, now that«Tuttle» is officially closed, I can post this review. I refuse to post reviews for places that offer their clients incentives based on reviews. I do not like that this clinic has offered Starbucks gift cards to its clients in exchange for positive Unilocal reviews… they used to have a sign on the counter advertising it – needless to say that’s why 90% of the reviews for them are filtered. I didn’t feel like I could write an honest review, even if it was glowing, knowing that they are keeping close track of who writes what so they can reward reviewers. Especially when they have the physical capability to break my neck if I said something harsh ;) =============================================== Five stars to Dr. So, who is no longer at this location. He helped both my boyfriend and I tremendously after years of chronic back and neck pain. Noelle, one of the receptionists, is amazing and I seriously love her — she once sang me the Pokemon theme song — how badass is that? When I was going to the chiropractor three times a week we had lots of awesome conversations. Not kidding, I love her! [She’s also working at Tier One, which is the chiropractic clinic that has moved into this space — so she’ll probably see this and I’ll blush, but she knows she’s awesome.] If you are reading this review because you’re searching Dr. So’s name, GOTOHIM, he is fantastic and a really cool guy who we became quite close through the nearly the two years of visits. The clinic itself was what warranted the non five star rating. Leaks, and all around ugliness. Tier One has upgraded pretty much everything interiorwise, so that no longer is an issue. If Dr. So were still close to my house, I’m sure I’d be going to him, but as for now I really like Dr. Woo and Dr. Ulrich at Tier One — however, as Doctor Who fans say, «you never forget your first doctor,» [mine was nine!] so Dr. Matt So will always have a place near my spine [in my heart].

Well, I guess I should start my review off by updating the history of this clinic a little bit. First, it is now 2012, and Tuttle Chiropractic Center has a new Doctor working there who is absolutely amazing. Second, the older reviews as far as I can tell didn’t really have a complete grasp of their situation. Not to undermine them in anyway. A bad experience is a bad experience. However, in my case, Chiropractic is a GODSEND. I used to have migraines ALL the time. As many as a couple a week. Root and cause? My neck was so badly out of alignment that the curvature of my neck was STRAIGHT… FYI, that’s bad. Chiropractors here in Washington refer to this as Microsoft neck. Yes I was told I needed to be adjusted 3 – 4 times a week for at least a month. Yes I went, and to be honest, it hurt. A lot. For the first few months. My muscles were not used to being in the position that they were being moved to, so they would pull my vertebrae back to being out of alignment. After 3 months… no headaches. Period. I no longer eat ibuprofen like candy. As far as billing, asking for or telling patients about perks for referrals, let me put this into perspective. Chiropractors AREDOCTORS. Psychologists, AREDOCTORS. Dentists, AREDOCTORS. Naturopaths AREDOCTORS. Medical«Doctors» are not the only authority on health-care. Chiropractic care is worth every cent, and it is cheaper by far than regular visits to an MD. If you are serious about correcting problems with your health, then Chiropractic should be your foundation. It is one of the best ways to free yourself of pharmaceutical dependency in dealing with pain. Pain is a symptom… Chiropractic is a cure, not a pill.

There are two basic reasons I see a chiropractor; the first is to maintain my general well being and the second is when I can feel something is mal-aligned and needs attention«now». In both cases I feel well served with Tuttle. When I find a chiropractor like Dr. Tuttle who is confident, capable, personable, and cares about the well being of his patients, I’ve found the right Chiro for me. We live in a world where we don’t administer our own health care very effectively and when that is the case it really isn’t appropriate to fault any health care provider. Their job is to help, not do it for you.

— While i admit that the staff is helpful and knowledgeable, but be very careful with their billing dept. — They take my insurance information and always said everything is covered by my insurance, and everything is fine. — By the end of session i got a bill of a surprising amount, and they always have a way to explain that i still have to pay this and that because there is a mistake on my insurance. They won’t even care if you cry in front of them. — I would try to look for another place if i were you, overall I’m not happy with the way they do business. I wonder if all the positive review is done by their own staff.

I went ever day for two weeks because apparently my neck and back are really screwed up. I was told to continue to go 3 – 4 sometimse 6 days a week until my would get better. I gathered feedback from other chiropractors and friends who said that the idea of going 6 times a week is completely absurd and assumes that I literally cannot walk. Here is where am I stupid, when someone tells you to go everyday isn’t that screwed up?(i.e. «hey you seem gullible, let’s take more monnnneeeyy») I stopped going when I realized that someone cracking my spine won’t miraculously fix my scoliosis. I’m old enough that my bones won’t grow anymore and whatever is promised won’t work. I did a little research and found that most chiropractors who subscribe to Palmer’s doctrine believe that a pinched nerve is the reason for a lot of different ailments. Maybe this is true to a certain extent but I don’t think it’s the reason for ALL ailments. Also, I later found that neck manipulation can in very rare cases cause strokes and in some cases, death. Fine, I did say rare but still you don’t want it to happen to you. Going to a chiropractor for me isn’t about healing anymore it’s just a quick fix if your back has been tweaked. I’m now exploring the Blair chiropractic method(if I really need it) since they don’t subscribe to the cracking.

I’ve been seeing Clint Tuttle for years now. I had a migraine one day at work, and a co-worker told me about him. I called and left a desperate voice mail. He called back personally and got me in immediately. He then followed up that night with a phone call to see how I was doing. Years later I still recommend him to all my friends and co-workers. His adjustments are done properly. Going the chiropractor should be a pleasant and painless service, as it is with Clint. I always get in and out in 15 minutes flat, which makes it an easy trip away from the office. Close to the Microsoft campus. They are just beside Crossroads Shopping Center on 8th Street(just past the post office). I value my chiropractor because it’s hard to find one who has the finesse that Clint has. As a snowboarder, it’s important to me to get regular adjustments. Even in the off season I go every other week, as it’s just good practice that keeps my body in optimal shape. Just remember, breath out and relax those muscles(don’t tense up!) when he does an adjustment! Oh! And tell them Angela sent you! :)
