Bellflower Feed Store

Have everything I need, bedding and feed. The owner operates this place by himself and has great customer service. Just wish they had an organic supply of feed. You’re allowed to pack your own feed here unlike other feed stores.

I always come here for the rabbit food. Price is cheaper and better quality compared to other pet stores. The store is small and very old, but who care, they have good product

Being a Bellflower resident of 50 yrs, I turn to Bellflower Feed for treating my animals right and proper. The Owner is a good judge of feed, stock and gear. I enjoy the many years of experience afforded the average consumer as well as more advanced insights friendly personnel offer. I guess one can go elsewhere but why would you want to get less for more?

Used to go by the feed store a lot some years back for bulk bird seed when I had way too many cockatiels.
Went by on a whim. It hasn’t changed much.
Past reviewer Moose C. is completely wrong about the animals, other than guard dogs at night, there are NO OTHER ANIMALS on the premises. I’ve never seen chickens or ducks here. EVER.
This is where people and businesses (like the stables over by Valley Christian) pick up bales of hay, feed, saddles, shampoos, and supplies for maintaining all kinds of animals, horses in particular.
I agree with Anne R. Moose was probably thinking of Blacksmith’s Corner, the big, red building over on Lakewood, across from the Norm’s, with the giant, white rabbit on the roof. Their grounds are mostly cages of fowl, and those I know who’ve done business with them weren’t happy about the way the animals were kept.
Anyway, the Bellflower Feed Store is a small, wooden building with stacks of hay bales and other food for livestock lining the fenced off parking lot, across the street from the Bellflower Recycling Center.
It’s like walking into a shack in an 1800s ghost town — worn wood floors, hardly any light that’s not coming through the windows, and bull horns on the walls.
While they mostly cater to equestrians, they do also have a small section for dogs and cats. Most things in this area are covered in dust and cans of Esbilac and other supplements long since expired. Still if you’re interested in pig’s ears, this is the place to go.
They’ve still got bulk bins of bird seed, peanuts (for parrots), and other feed, but they’re mostly depleted. Not sure how often they fill the bins, but they look like they’ve been empty a while. Then again, Pottsee’s Exotics, around the corner, is the independent place to go for pet bird seed in Bellflower.

I think the other review, Moose C., must be talking about Blacksmith’s Corner on Lakewood Blvd. This place has NO ANIMALS on the property. If you care about chicken bio security (i.e. not bringing avian diseases home from a feed store on your shoes!), stay away from Blacksmith’s corner and go here instead.
I wish I knew this place was here when I first started keeping chickens 4 years ago. Their prices are great and the customer service is good!
It is an old traditional feed store that carries a nice selection of chicken feed, animal bedding, and lots of horse tack and supplies. They even carry a locally milled brand of chicken feed called Royal Feeds, made down the street in Downey by Leech Grain and Milling. They have a large section of meds for animals. Plus, their prices are cheaper than Blacksmith’s corner. It is a little hard to find off Woodruff on Artesia Place, not Artesia Blvd. just as you go under the 91 frwy.
I would have given them 5 stars if they stocked organic chicken feeds.

This place sells your typical pet supplies. They have a good selection of rabbit hutches to choose from.
In the back, outside, they have this huge pen, that has all sorts of fowls (chickens, geeses, etc), and once I even saw a goat! They have baby chickens and ducks (I dread knowing what for…) The place is dirty, rats are crammed in to wire cages, rabbits as well. Don’t even DARE take a whiff of air when you approach the mice section. The smell is horrendous!
They’re a great place to buy from, if you own a farm or a place that has alot of animals.
I visit this place every once in awhile to just peek around and leave.
