this place has the best tamales ive ever had and vegan too! the pumpkin tamales were also so yummy and sweet and my mom enjoyed her chile verde pork burrito. overall this place does disappoint!

Excellent tamales: they have all types but the cheese and the pumpkin are my favorite. Not too greasy and taste like homemade. This is like a hidden gem in bellflower. They are friendly and super organized! Our office loves this place!

This place is great for vegan/​vegetarian food! Not only is the food reasonably priced, but it’s really delicious too. The service is great as well, really friendly.
The best day to go for tamales is probably Tamale Tuesdays when they’re $ 1.50. (:

Decided to try Catalinas Little Kitchen in Bellflower. Hear all the hoopla and booked it from hiking to pick up my order. Met the owner and Mr Angel is a Godsend. Ended up ordering (remember I’m coming off a hike: chile rellano (totally the bomb) and a Bear-​ito which is a chili verde burrito. Had a sample of pork tamale, very moist and delish and the cheese and rajas tamale was amazing. Im happy to say my food did not make it out the door before the amazing smells made me take a bite of my chile rellano burrito. Dont know why I ordered it as normally I dont like them but now I am a total convert. Had to go back in and take home some rice for later. Im definitely coming back. Im so hooked and Tuesday is Tamale Tuesday yummy. Think I will be back on Tuesday! Thanks Mr Angel. And Doña Catalina is beautiful!

Bellflower’s little secret!!!
If you haven’t tried the tamales here yet, you are definitely missing out! I have so far only tried chicken, rajas, pineapple and pumpkin, and every one of these totally surpassed my expectations! Each one nice and thick and full of flavor! You really get your money’s worth! Go early and/​or call your order in before you go to make sure they have what you want ready when you get there.
I had never tried pumpkin tamales before and honestly, I wasn’t really interested in it, but with a little encouraging from Tom (the man working the counter), I went ahead and tried it… Seriously, the BEST tamale I’ve ever had!!! He gave me some green sauce to put on it and it was HEAVEN!!!
From great food to great service this place is hands down one of the best in the area!

Mind blown! It’s hard enough to find a good tamal, and to find a vegan one is nearly impossible! But Catalina’s Little Kitchen has done it! I had their green vege tamal, sweet potato tamal, and pumpkin tamal. They were all soooo good, absolutely delicious! Amazing flavor, masa was just right, and perfect size. Also, my boyfriend had their chile verde enchiladas and he said they were the best enchiladas he’s ever had. Not only is their food worthy of 5 stars and more, but so is their service. The owners were very friendly and welcoming and that alone makes me want to come back again and again. And I will be doing just that. Finally, good vegan food on this side of town!

Their chiles reyenos are to die for!!! My co worker referred me to them to try their chiles reyenos, and she was right!!! They’re so delicious! The sauce is so flavorful too!!! Plus great customer service!!! They make it clear that they’re here to make you happy and pleased!

Recently tried for the first time via a VEGAN catered event. Affordable and amazing food! I will definitely find my way to eating here in the future! There are not enough vegetarian/​vegan options in this area, especially that are good.
I had pumpkin tamales, beans, rice and tortilla chips. I loved everything listed!

I had Catalinas little kitchen do the catering for my girlfriend’s baby shower this past weekend. We had about 20 guests and the mom and dad to be were both vegan. Not only were we able to get completely vegan Mexican food but it was so delicious and the prices were really great. I worked with Tom who wrote up a few menu choices for me that were within my budget but would still feed all the guests. He was really helpful and great with following up.
Everyone at the shower said the food was amazing, especially the tamales and enchiladas. We had more than enough to feed everybody and all the guests went back for seconds.
Tom also called me today to see how the food was and to make sure that our event went over well. I would definitely recommend Catalina’s little kitchen for events and for their vegan food. Very happy, thank you!

Finally, a vegetarian/​vegan friendly place in Bellflower!
I’m not a strict vegetarian but I prefer to avoid meat when I can. I have been telling everyone about their VEGAN tamales: pumpkin (slightly spicy), black bean, sweet potato, and pineapple (by request I think). I’ve had them all and I honestly can’t decide which one is my favorite!
Yesterday I tried the new vegan soyrizo burrito, which includes potatoes in a wheat tortilla… I would recommend it to anyone, even if you are a meat eater. It is that good. And the Chile Relleno? Also delicious.
That being said, I think their most popular tamale might be the green chile and cheese one, which isn’t vegetarian, but IS amazing! With their excellent prices, you may as well buy one or two of each and see which one is your favorite. I plan to arrange some catering from them soon as well, and I will update my review when I do.
Just a tip, you may want to call before stopping by because I think they occasionally sell out of items.

Gotta Say This One Of The Best Place With Some Real Good Tamales. The Chile Relleno Are So Good, You Gotta Try Out The Chile Relleno Burrito.

Recently went in about 30 mins before their closing time and grabbed a few dozen tamales. Their staff welcomed me with a smile and were very kind. I ordered chile/​cheese and chicken tamales took them to my family’s get together and everyone loved them! Definitely found our go-​to spot for tamales. Excited to try their other choices! Totally recommend this place and will return for more! :)

These are the best tamales I’ve had since my grandmother’s. Catalinas tamales are handmade fresh daily. The pumpkin tamale is very savory! I’ll be back.

Must try the green chili burrito it’s delicious and don’t forget to try the tamales! My favorite is the pineapple sweet tamale or the Punkin tamale.

So MAD! Drove 8 miles to this place and wanted to ‘try’ it. Dummy only bought one of each. LITTLE PILLOWS OF HEAVEN! Ommg! I wasnt keen on the idea of a pumpkin tamale but after a description figured what the heck. IN LOVE! Probably my most favorite one. dont sleep on the pumpkin people, its killer! They were all amazing truthfully. Got lost drivin home becasue i was so enamoured with the party in my mouth! 1000% will be back by next Tamale Tuesday… if i can wait that long lol

Tamales — Cheese and green chili are wonderful — just ordered a dozen to share
Pork and chicken tamales also super good
Pumpkin tamales… they were unusual, but I think I like them!
Only issue would be that they are gaining popularity and are under-​staffed…
But everyone is very friendly and food is delicious.

Well this place has been around but was not really advertised for a while, just recently they opened up more to the public and man it was worth it, I went by since I live down the street and got 3 pork tamales, they were pretty big sizes and they had chicken and rajas as well, well got me three to take for lunch at work and they were good, just like a tamale should be good and spicy but not too spicy that it kills it just enough to give it the kick, and I got full with two, they were not all masa but a good amount of pork in it so I will
Be coming back for more, they do have coffee and compurado in the mornings and everything is made that day

If there were more stars available, I would give more. These tamales are the best I have ever had. The ingredients are high quality and fresh. So far I have tried the chile and cheese, chicken, pork, and my new favorite PUMPKIN! Now I am not a huge fan of pumpkin, and these aren’t pumpkin overload either. It’s a delicate and magical balance between pumpkin, corn, and jalapeño. It’s quite mild in the spice level, and the added bonus for some is they are vegan. This place is spectacularly clean, the staff is super friendly and the tamales are just excellent. A must try and it just may be your new favorite spot too.

Was passing by with my mother and saw a sign for tamales. I have pretty high expectations when it comes to tamales because my family makes home made ones for almost all holidays but Catalinas tamales def passed my expectations. Their chicken tamales had more meat than other tamales and their masa was delicious. Then to add their green sauce just made it even that much better! Staff was so friendly and welcoming and I wish this new business all the best, will def be back!
